I'm pretty confident I'm down $15,000 which I will never see again thanks to my risk taking in crypto currency.

Aren't you the person who was gonna lie to their dad about the use to which you were going to put a million dollar loan? Put it into bitcoin instead?

Yup, you remembered? I am so glad I didn't invest my dad's money.... he already thinks im an idiot, would have been down half a million right now

Dont risk more than you are willing to set on fire and watch burn.  This is advice for ANY AND ALL trading whether it be in crypto, forex, or the stock exchange.

I invested a lot of money, which I am not willing to "set on fire"... I wouldn't "set on fire" anything over $100... but investing $100 will not give me any significant returns.

But even though the amount I invested was not something I was "willing to lose"... I thought the risk of potentially losing that amount for the chance that I could become rich was a gamble I was willing to take. It's not like I have wife and kids or will end up in the streets if I lose this money... but it's still a lot of money

Were you forced to sell right now?

Nope, holding til it goes to $0 even if there's a 10% chance I could still come out on top

Pretty much every non risk takers out there thinks we are all idiots for putting REAL money into this "imaginary" thing. Especially when it goes down like now...they come out the woodwork to rub it in.
It's good that you didn't invest your dad's money though, that takes the pressure off a bit.
I'm holding mine till it goes to $0 as well, looks like most of us may end up sinking together, Titanic style.

The zero resistance will hold. It is a hard resistance. After that, to the moon!

Here is your average internet girl:

That is hillarious!!!   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy And, even if there happens to be a girl or two on the internets, these one or two girls should also find this post to be funny... but how am I to get into the mind(s) of the fairer ones?

Yep Smiley I Look prettier than that though....

I hope so. You would need some sort of birth defect to look worse.  Grin

birth defect, you mean, like a weiner...?

I am glad that you have a decent sense of humor fabiola.  Surely, there are likely a shortage of girls/women on these interweb forums and into bitcoin and some of the language that guys choose to use can be gender-biased and a bit sexist... and even targeted towards some pent-up desires... especially, if we end up caught up in front of silly-ass computer screens for many hours of the day....    NONETHELESS, I believe that there can be a variety of ways of expressing oneself - whether man or woman  - guy or gal -  and still appreciate the humor in some of the socializations and the stereotypes.

Thank you, my lord. Yes, it's a fun forum, I don't mind a bit of silly banter here and there.

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
I welcome $10-$20 USD/BTC.  Drive the huge ASIC farms offline and drop difficulty back to reasonable levels so little miners like me can keep scooping up BTC for the next big financial crisis.  Bring it on.

It's good to have dreams. They help us get through our pathetic little lives.  Grin

More likely, the huge ASIC farms will keep chugging along because they already made the investment and have no choice. Also the farm owners will start buying up as many cheap bitcoins as they can find to drive the price back up and increase their holding position.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
Such a nonsense!

Bitcoiners have to apply for social security tomorrow!
Bitcoin is about to become non-valeur by the end of 2014.

We need another underground currency which cannot be destroyed by Obama & Co!
A currency which cannot be changed for Fiat money and which still works.
That man who manages this will become next universal GOD of this planet!

Long live self-regulated anarchy!

I would NOT write off bitcoin so soon... a little price drop does NOT cause the conclusion that the whole fricken thing has failed or that there may still be a run-up in prices causing an additional phase of "new wealthy elite, gentlemen."

Also, hopefully, we are NOT investing more than we can afford to lose, even though I recognize the temptation to put in a lot and then to double down and then to double down again.. etc etc. which could cause the opposite of "wealthy elite, gentlemen."
