Holding for 4 years. Tried trading, lost 1 coin and never tried it again  Grin

For most people, that's the best option. After all, most traders lose money. If you're losing coins, you're not beating the market anyway. Put that stash into cold storage!

I've got most of my coins in cold storage, but I do hedge them (via shorting futures) during strong downtrends. And my fiat exchange accounts are all in cash right now. I'd love to buy back but bulls need to pull this chart out of the shitter first.

I would´ve sold my coins at 20k and bought them back at 6k (ideally). But I don´t want to pay taxes. So thats another big reason why I hold (if you hold over 1 year here in Germany, its completely tax free). I hope that one day you can pay most of the stuff with Bitcoin.

So why are you HODLING and WHAT ?

 Grin
That thread has been so badly abused by shitposters and it would have been better if you had made a self moderated thread.
Hodling is good for some cases,I have a different strategy,I rather prefer to trade with alts and play with money real nice. Seems to be very interesting and full of fun. I ask people to trade than hodl because you're not giving full use to your capital but it seems like trading is not everyone's cup of tea.
I use trade too, it will be good for me with I play with my money in this situation. I can't watching my money lose step by step, although in the future I don't know the price will high back. Just a man who take a risk they will succes, not just watching someone else succes, I'm sure it's wrong way. Someone say to me 'hope' make people to be crazy, I will remember that.

I have patient so that's why I think I will wait the price become very high and if that happen I earn a lot of profit for sure. But sometimed I sell my bitcoin when I need some money if I need for necessary . But most of my income is for holding bitcoin and holding altcoins too.

I am still a hodler of bitcoin because these current situation is really not good if selling at this time. Selling this time could gives me on lose point. I'd rather hold mine up to the time I can sell it at the very best price, it will come to the season that bitcoin will have a good market for us to have profit.

Its right time to buy more altcoins including bitcoin and hold back in the wallets until the coins values boom to the moon in the middle of July 2018. As per the ratio, yes we can expect a minimum hike of 300 percentage from last year's value. Bitcoin value was at $1000 in January 2017 and in December 2018, it was at $21000. 2100 percentage hike in last year. This January began with value $9000, so just imagine if only 300 to 500 percentage hike then, the value would be at $45K in December 2018. So better to hold back the bitcoin you have.

I am only into Bitcoin. Also, I admit that I am holding because of the capabilities of Bitcoin which is already engraved to the minds of true Bitcoin believer. Bitcoin's market price is worse than this way back 3 years ago so for me there's no need to be scared of right now. Also, dumps are not permanent and surely its price will recover soon so investing and holding would really be necessary.

I am mostly holding but also spending but not trading, dont have
the time or dedication to it.

My reasons to hold:
Future alternative to FIAT especially in crisis times.
Private and away from the eyes of banks and governments.
Limited supply so get in early.

with you holding bitcoin, it's at least helping the current price stability, decreasing the availability of the current bitcoin for your benefit in the future as there will be a price spike by the end of the year. surely everyone also does not want to lose and regret for selling all your coins. I just suggest, but it depends on your own.

Definitely Yes. Holding is the only way to consider as price of Bitcoin is not that high. Keeping it for the moment and wait for the right time when its price soar up won't regret to happen. In this case an effective result of holding is a head of us in the future.

Why I'm HODLING? I have faith that bitcoin will be reaching new ATH's soon and that's what I'm waiting for. And bitcoin is starting to become popular, it's being discussed on mainstream media and there are too many financial experts starting to tackle about it. Although there are bad sides that are being said about bitcoin, I'll HODL. No matter what they say about bitcoin, I'll HODL. We are HODLING because we have the same vision that we can see in the future for bitcoin.

At this time, bitcoin's price is still low so you must hold your bitcoin first. Being patience can help you a lot so you will not be regret at the end. It takes time but it is worth the wait.

Hold your bitcoin until the price will go up again. It is better to have a profit. Do not rush things, it is better not to regret at the end.

Overall you're right, but people who don't understand what they are doing, don't understand how this market works, are basically just gambling with their capital. They don't even know why Bitcoin has value in the first place, where some of them even believe that Bitcoin can become worthless overnight. If you take that into consideration, it isn't that surprising that these people end up selling like there is no tomorrow when the price falls down. They rather sell with a 20% loss than seeing their entire capital vanish due to Bitcoin losing all its value -- that's how their broken logic works. Some of them will learn from their mistakes, and others will get eaten alive by this hostile market.

Me too, and i am never going to understand all those weak hands who are selling all the coins that the own at the moment. THEY ARE DUMB AS HELL.

Came on, how can you be so dumb to dump everything when all the prices are going down?  I would not sell, and it doesn't matter if it goes to zero or to $1m.
