I would prefer a checkbox to be able to filter the topics, only to show those which has at least 1 merited post... Would make difference...
If there are enough merit sources, who check the new topics and the new replies periodically, this will help to find the quality topics easier

Well, knowledgeable members do not have to start threads in order to provide helpful information.
And you do not have to go through only threads started by notable members. Read through comments especially on topics that interests you. There is bound to be bits and pieces of important, relevant information. And you can always start a thread asking a question and you would surely get a reply.

This is a discussion forum. And not a place to simply reitirate updates that are available on the mainstream media. But to discuss and interact.

If you go through the Bitcoin Discussion section you will find some good topics, where people are willing to discuss for real.
I started a few day ago a topic about Craig Wright threaten the bitcoin, and the topic moved a bit into the Hash Wars. What you need is a bit more time in the forum so you can recognize which user is legit and which is just a high-ranked signature spammer.

The forum has a search option, thats privy to you and every user on the forum,as well as a quick Google Search about any pressing issue you wanna verify on the forum, and you'll definitely be redirected to where and when exactly it was discussed on the forum,i use it and I implore you to do likewise,as it definitely will save you some stress really..

And the issue with starting such threads you mentioned by "high ranked members"(Though it definitely can/should be started by anyone irrespective of ranks),is that such topics hardly ever get any real/valuable replies,80% of the replies would be from users who have 0 knowledge of the matter at hand, thus a user who wants to read would have to scan 10 garage replies to get 1 meaningful one,its rather stressful and unhealthy..
And the reason for that is the section where those topics are suited such as the BD board/AD board, and such sections have actually turned to a hot bed for low quality spam/spammers,and worse still most high ranked members have such sections on ignore,so waiting for their threads one those topics,i doubt you'll be seeing any soon

Except of course as jetcash said, if such posts are made in the IT or SD sections, then it could be worthwhile, but surprisingly those sections are actually somewhat innactive.

I don't to think what happened to BTC cash can be regarded as a fork. BTC split up into two chains bitcoin cash sv and bitcoin cash ABC. A lot of expert and even heads of exchanges has been critical about the event

I think the Bitcoin Cash fork, and the associated hash war is a really interesting topic. The knowledge gained from this could help members to understand the possible vulnerabilities in the Bitcoin blockchain. I had hoped that someone would start this topic in Serious Discussion or Ivory Tower, but it doesn't seem to have happened. I don't read the alt boards at the moment, as I don't consider those to be places for serious discussions.

You may check some posts from old days regarding those. I believe you will definitely gather huge knowledge. The discussion were quite healthy the then time.
For having a up to date discussion, I prefer to check Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion. It's really a good source to have an idea about the market, IMO.

I don't think this post fit for meta. It can be fit in B&H, IMO.

Ever since I got here I have been in a search for knowledge and I have been browsing through various sections and I am blessed any time I come across a very informative and educative post that would have required some sort of financial funds to get such information outside the forum(buying books, attending lectures e.t.c)
And I am very appreciative

We have very knowledgeable member in this forum that has so much to impact on the forum but some has become reluctant or vexed probably because of the degrading works of some no good individuals(spammers) this particular sect of people tend to take a large ratio of posts in most section and it makes it difficult searching for educative post because you would need flipping pages after pages.

Please I make this sincere appeal on behalf of myself and every other knowledge seeker like myself to the educated members of the forum to share there knowledge across various sections of the forum more often there is so much happening in the cryptocurrency world recently that can cause panic and confusion
*bitcoin and altcoins prices are dropping rapidly
*the fork that recently happened on BTC cash
And many more pressing topics that requires more elaboration from senior members

We would love an expert view and break down of the whole situation it's time we take a break from merit, ranking and other unproductive post and rub minds together about recent happenings in the crypto world.

I once again thanks everyone that has contributed positively to the forum Your works has been helpful. Wish you more strength
