I believe the point of being independent is that one can comfortably afford his/her necessities without thinking too much as to how the cash for expense would come. This can only be an achieved feat when one has resolved on a means of income and has focused so as to gain the best from the means.
As Op has stated his freedom, some other persons may have a different idea, because as right said, the income value of currency varies from region to region.
If i had to ask OP a question, it would be, have you tried living else where with this current income, where bills are more than equivalent to the current one you pay? Do you think your independence is sure enough to care and carter for a family, should you decide to or already have one?
I however, admire your resolve and hope to come an indepence of mine wherein I could afford more than the basic necessity.

but to be honest, I also felt independence and satisfaction when I got to know crypto, where when I first got to know crypto I really needed money for my lack of living expenses because my income was reduced due to the termination of the contract from the company I worked for,

OP is a great example to the kids in this generation that knows nothing but only playing video games using their gadgets and then using social media for posting non-sense things. I joined the forum last year on 5th of this month, now it's been a year and seven days passed in this forum. In the beginning, I had little knowledge about cryptocurrency, but with browsing this forum now I am at a stage that my earnings were initially just pocket money for my student life and At present, it has come to a condition where a middle class family of our country can easily run.  But I think I still have a long way to go, I think this is just the beginning of my road.

The experiences of loss in 2017 are now shaping you and making you make a few dollars and become independent without burdening your parents.
