my sister emailed me about the bitcoin news today, she told me to sell my bitcoins because if you own them you are gonna be arrested.

Just saying this is what regular people think about bitcoin....

Really...wtf - man, its always 1 step forward 2 steps back for btc.

How we ever going to crack mainstream with those silly perceptions out there. Sad

Please someone offer some basic bitcoin education to the mainstream journalists and public.

I think they have the knowledge, they just think they'll sell more news if they make it outrageous and extraordinary, with a good dose of bad things happening to people.  WHy people watch the local news is beyond me, it's all garbage.

Going down well on my facebook Smiley

Offered 0.1 btc to first 10 people. Up to 9 so far, of which I think 7 or 8 are total newbies (installed a wallet due to my offer) and the others are fairly new.

They're really appreciating the offer.

Great idea, I'd suggest more people to be as philanthropistic. Share the love!

I'd love to actually have some bitcoin. All mine so far is tied up in mining pools well under their payout limits, probably forever. Sad

Why dont u ask them to work for The bitcoin network, by downloading The bitcoin-qt?

And as soon as they get sincronyzed, you send them the Bitcoins...

By this way, The "free" is almost not free...

Not surprised tbh, people just can't imagine others giving money away for free and get suspicious.

As a brand new noob I honestly wouldn't mind getting some, no matter how little:

A newb who has wallets for multiple alt coins... oh my lord...
