Sine he wants to remain anonymous I think we should respect it because many have tried and failed so trying to meet Satoshi Nakamoto is like a journey that has no end.

If you think that after 15 years you have discovered who Satoshi Nakamoto through a video on youtube...you are kidding yourself. You and everyone else need to understand that Satoshi Nakamoto could be anyone, anything or any group. The name itself is a combination of four technology companies after all.

Don't bother trying to discover the identity of who created Bitcoin. Instead, just appreciate that Bitcoin exists.

The sad thing is that the creator of the video did that probably only to get a few bucks from YouTube ads.

If you actually watch the video (I did, don't recommend it, waste of time), you'll realize that the "claim" that Adam Back is Satoshi Nakamoto is nothing more than the fact that both people used the same version of Microsoft Visual Studio C++ for creating an exe around 2009.

That means that basically almost anyone in the world that created an exe on Windows at that time fits that criteria, as that's the most popular compiler for Windows.

This is just absurd, and the video was either made naively, or just to make a few bucks on ads knowing that it's not true.

First, I know curiosity is good, but not on this one. Your curiosity towards who Satoshi Nakamoto is will lead you to nothing.

Second, I don't fully trust Youtube videos. Just a few moments ago, I made a quick search regarding the airdrop from ZKSync, and I saw this Youtube video, but at the first seconds of it, you can already see that it's been generated thru AI, and it's promoting a scam website as well. Overall, I don't fully trust Youtube videos, but that doesn't mean that I don't trust them all. Only some.

Overall, kudos to the curiosity of the OP, but it would be better and more beneficial to you if you will just spend your time doing things that will make you happy or if you can earn from it then better than being an investigator or whatever finding who Satoshi Nakamoto is. Just leave Satoshi as an anonymous creator. That would be better. Smiley

Anyone who spends their time trying to reveal the identity of Satoshi or comes up with made-up stories or tries to link fake identities and stuff to him is simply wasting his time and those who read/watch them. So if you are specifically searching for such videos or blogs or anything, where you can find people revealing Satoshi's identity and telling who he actually is, you are just wasting your precious time.

Do you think that a person or a group that can create a technology like Blockchain and Bitcoin will ever be exposed if they deliberately hid their identity from the start?

The more time passes, the harder it will be to find the person.

But there will always be people wanting to search for him, and eventually he will die of natural causes, leaving the whole thing as a mystery.

It doesn't matter really. People are not obsessed about who invented the wheel for example, but it still works fine after all this time.

Friendly advice, youtube is a platform geared towards entertainment, so watch whatever you want but when it comes to factual information about any other topic take everything with a grain of salt, especially when it comes to a topic like this one.

I agree, you should always keep a safe distance from the info you can find on Youtube.
Especially when it comes to money or cryptos for that matter.

Personally, I've seen so many scams and scammers using Youtube as a medium that I'm very suspicious when the topic is cryptos or Bitcoin and the source of information is this site.

I've already responded to OP on the first page of this topic, about the substance of his topic and the futility (in my opinion anyway) of knowing who Satoshi really is, and the negative consequences it would have on Bitcoin and its environment if he could be doxxed.

But you're absolutely right to point out that even the source is to be taken with a grain of salt, I will never repeat enough and especially to beginners not to use Youtube as the only source of information when it comes to their finances and cryptos.

As far as we know the intelligence agencies of all around the world tried to find the person behind the name Satoshi Nakamoto and they failed, so it is silly to think that a youtuber succeeded where they failed.

Gavin Andresen is not Satoshi Nakamoto, neither is Hal Finney, Martti Malmi (sirius).

Gavin Andresen is one of early contributors https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/graphs/contributors?from=2009-08-30&to=2010-12-31&type=c

His claim is that Adam Back used the same linker as Satoshi Nakamoto.

Come on man, if anyone in the world compiled anything and shared it at that time, all those projects will probably have the same linker because it was the one available at the time.

Also, the compiler in question is Microsoft Visual C++, basically the most common compiler at the time for compiling C++ in Windows.

Basically, not worth watching, save your time and do something interesting instead.

^ this profile got active after long time for some days.

It's already 2023, no one gives a **** as to who Satoshi is, the chances of him being identified could have been better in the early days of bitcoin. But after more than 10 years and yet people don't know who Satoshi is, I doubt that we will find him in the next 10 years. I'm not clicking that youtube link, it will just give him the exposure and the algorithm he needed to keep his channel alive because we know that Satoshi can't be identified. Sure we have all our speculations and we even have a lot of discussions here in the community. But there is no smoking gun as to Satoshi's real identify. So sorry to say that it will be just a waste of your precious time. If there a community that can better identify him then this forum is. But you have to search it for yourself because I have said there are tons of it.

Leave the man alone please, Satoshi wants he's identity never to be revealed, why is it so difficult to respect that, he already gave us bitcoin, and bitcoin has been doing pretty well, isnt this not enough?
What else exactly would knowing who satoshi is do for you?

Instead of wasting so much time trying to find out who satoshi is, channel that energy into finding the true identity of all the altcoin devs, who pretended to be who they weren't, stole our precious bitcoins and ran away.

It's very hard to totally disappear from internet no ?,  Satoshi was very smart to disappear without leaving any clue.

if you use your real name from the start then yes its hard to disappear.

but if you use a fake name from the start and for just a couple years.. by simply stop using that fake name does the job

millennials/gen-z have issues disappearing because they grew up in the age of social media where they love presenting themselves.
where as those raised before millennials thus were mature when the internet got popular knew upfront how easy it is to make new usernames

back then email accounts did not ask for life history and phone numbers/location info, so the older generation were used to having different "identities"
(i see it more of a generational norm understanding of internet identity. rather than "being smart" )

these days trying to make multiple gmail accounts or outlook accounts comes with too many identity questions.. the younger generation dont know as much about identity protection by default

the older generation have the mindset to separate identities as the norm. the younger generation have no clue and think that using real life info is the norm and hiding identity requires "smarts"

I dont trust Youtubers, they only create videos for content and to gain more views and followers, for bad YouTubers, they're bad influencers and paid those shills.  I don't believe until there's concrete proof to definitively identify Satoshi Nakamoto, any claims about their identity should be treated with caution and skepticism.

IMO, just respect of what Satoshi's decision, to remain anonymous isn't only a matter of respecting their personal choices and privacy, but also of recognizing the importance of privacy and personal autonomy in the digital age besides, Satoshi Nakamoto itself don't have full control over all Bitcoin supply, it's us, the Bitcoin supporters.

It has been over a decade, and there are lots of claims but all are proven to be fake.  So better not to believe anything that is presented on youtube especially if the documentation is just a recycled of previous hints and claims because if those hints and claims are true, we could have identified who Satoshi Nakamoto is but sadly, it only gives assumptions and conspiracy theories which are not helpful at all and may often lead people to a wrong person.

I was thinking that the video would show Satoshi image but I only saw write up on paper and google pages and seminars. So I don't take your proof as a guarantee to say, the guy or the commentator is saying the right thing. I believe they are propaganda or misinformation about the identification or the personality of Satoshi Nakamoto. Video is not a good proof for the identification but the second link which shows the profile of Satoshi is even proofing than the video.

The video is just a personal assumption according to the method of the video creator in linking works and files to satoshi's real identity.  If that method is correct then, Satoshi Nakamoto's identity had been found years before the video presentation is created.

It is not advisable to place your trust in YouTubers. Although many have attempted, the identity of Satoshi remains unknown and it is unlikely that it will be discovered. With so many individuals resorting to attention-seeking tactics and ultimately proving to be fraudulent, the only reliable way to authenticate Satoshi's identity is through a signed message from his address. Therefore, it is not worth expending time and energy attempting to uncover information about Satoshi. Instead, it is more beneficial to concentrate on educating oneself about Bitcoin. It is crucial to learn about Bitcoin, and it is acceptable for Satoshi to remain anonymous.

It's very hard to totally disappear from internet no ?,  Satoshi was very smart to disappear without leaving any clue.

Well, they do say that the best place to hide a tree is in a forest. Satoshi may have just pulled off the ultimate disappearing act by blending in with the vast sea of information on the internet, never to be found again.

Maybe they are just waiting for the perfect moment to reappear and shock us all with their grand reveal. Or maybe they are just sipping margaritas on a deserted island somewhere, enjoying their newfound anonymity. Either way, it is a mystery that will keep internet sleuths scratching their heads for years to come!  Grin

There are really lots of people who have left over time and strength, which could have been used for other things like learning more about how Bitcoin works, its main purpose, mining if necessary, and other things that really make Bitcoin, well, Bitcoin. Instead, we channel those energies into asking Google, "Who is Satoshi?" Is this Satoshi? That and that Why do we really want to know who Satoshi is? Does it add anything to the table? Haven't you also taught about it that it's just better we stop researching and focus on bagging more Bitcoin?Do you not also know that the entire federal government that is against Bitcoin will come for the creator immediately the person is confirmed to be the real Satoshi (which will never happen)?

Bitcoin is okay the way it is without the real identity of Satoshi.

Trying to find out who Satoshi Nakamato is is :

-a waste of time: if we could know who he is, believe me it's not with resources available on youtube that it would be possible, I think you can imagine the number of governmental and specialized agencies that have tried, if it was within our reach it would already be doxxed

-against the interest of Bitcoin himself and its environment: BTC is not ETH, is truly decentralized and we all indirectly benefit from the anonymity of its creator. Revealing the identity of Satoshi Nakamato would change a lot of things, and could lead to the fall of BTC

As far as I know, only message #3 (I have a doubt, but it was one of the first 5 messages) of Satoshi on Bitcointalk doxxed him, and this message has been definitively deleted: this is a good thing and I hope that the few admins and people who had access to it, don't remember about this content  Wink
