It's really seldom to see this happening , it would be great if someone send you 25 btc for the mistake  Grin
Since you got from exchanger, I think there must be something not right on their system but if they did not care about it, you can enjoy that $ 3 ++
I don't think a 25btc transaction would be possible to be sent by mistake since people would be careful for that kind amount.
Agreed that there maybe something wrong happened from that to be sent by mistake.
By the way, OP was just lucky to receive such a amount, even it's low, since you can rarely see a mistake on being sent to the wrong address.
People have sent 5 bitcoins as a fee in the past that's really happened not a story, anyways yobit is so flooded with complete useless shitcoins and every time I try to open it takes me 3 minutes for me to be able to click on a coin name, not to mention their recaptcha takes literally more than 20 seconds to load just a green tick, as they've done this on purpose so people can't effectively claim those free yobicodes lol.
I have also received some small amounts in the  past which probably were from some old faucet but unless you hack someone's system so every time they copy paste an address then your address gets replaced no way someone mistaken an unique address with another, that's the amount and or fees that people tend to mistaken and send the wrong amount but not wrong address.

This is really a cool moment for you , since use of this bitcoin will not worthy for you but if you can use this amount of the bitcoin ( which is useless)  for better purpose like trading or only hold for long time then probably this amount of bitcoin will give you Profit .
Here I will suggest you to invest this bitcoin for any altcoin Which is famouse and Currently is at very low rate , then wait patiencely to grow in good amount .

If you dont know where it came from or who sent you then its a very good time to gamble. Try your luck and see how it will work out for you.
Investing that low amount will not give you anything. Gamble, if you win its more the merrier, if you lose then Meh! it was not yours.
I think your idea is very cool, that money is a gift so there is no risk on you even if you lose that amount. With small amount of money
that will always fit in gambling and I supported that kind of idea.

This might be a deposit that you got from Yobit based on the increased transaction that you've made through Yobit exchange. Same as that we get bonuses from gambling websites based on the transaction, you might have got the deposit amount.

Someone must have mistakenly sent it to your address. Oh well, lucky you, and unfortunate to the one who sent it wrongly. Hope those coins go to a right person. Don't waste it on gambling. Cheesy It might be small but it still has a value. Cheesy Cheesy

how can someone send bitcoin to a wrong address, it is not like account number that you change a number for example changing 2 to 3 and goes to someone else! you have to actually have the address to send to it!
i do not see this as a random  deposit  either, and what is the posibility of misplacing one or two characters that it willl land in someone elses  account? There is a high chance you actively use your yobit account and somebody must have paid you twice or simply a copy and paste error from the good samaritan

You probably got lucky and happened to get a few dollars from someone who must have typed in the wrong address. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything to them, but worst case you get a strongly-worded note from the owner asking for his money back.

You're probably the only one who got something like this, since chances are no-one is going to distribute 0.0025BTC to random people.

have you checked your history to see where it came from.
here yobit.net/en/history/ you can see if it was from an open order that was closed and you have forgotten or from a deposit in which case you can check your yobid bitcoin deposit address on a block explorer to see who gave you that by googling the sender's address.

Yobit ofcourse will not give you any penny for free. There must be a pending old order being fulfilled and you got the money. You can search in the site history or just enjoy the money.  Grin

I'm thinking the same thing, somebody just put the wrong address maybe forgot one number or something it was a mistake for sure no doubt about that of course.
Its also pretty nice but would be better if it would be a higher amount of course.

Those are pretty jumbled messed up string of characters. I myself check it three times atleast before I push through with the transaction cause it's really easy to mess up.

That never happened to me. Do you know why did you got them. I'm sure that even if it was random there must be a purpose. Aren't you signed on their sig campaign? it could be it

No my sig campaign only pays out today, and i use a different address anyway.

Sometimes, people will tip you by accident, or they deposit to the wrong address. I wouldn't care too much if I were you, I've received many deposits where I don't know who sent the BTC to me. I just enjoy the BTC!

A little amount like 0.0025 won't matter too much, but in the future, if you somehow receive a big amount, say 0.1 or more, perhaps trying to look for the owner would be the right thing to do. But with a little amount, just have fun with it  Cheesy Consider yourself lucky!
