Hi thenewguy_intown. It's so difficult to give advice on which coin to buy since things can go up and down every day. Have you done any research on your own for some of the new altcoins? What is your risk tolerance? Are you ok with losing the $1000 and take on a huge risk? In that case, you should try leverage trading, but not too much, maybe x5 or x10 which will give you more money for your $1000.
Your 1000 usd I suggest to invest ethereum or binance coin these altcoins are good for long term investments so your money will be double or triple if you have a patient to hold until the market go bullish. You can invest in one coin but it's better to split your capital for two.

you correct considering for beginners these 3 coins, and right their fundamental base is huge, so also i would like to recommend. it seems low risk for their and i think the reasons of most beginner losing their capital for blindly invest in new projects without proper researching.
If I get extra $1000, I will buy 50% for $PYR, 50% for YGG immediately. Current price of $PYR is 3.88 I have accumulated 1.93$. YGG is 7.8$ i bought it at 6.5$. I believe that Nftgame is tending to exaggerate well to generate multi-fold profits. But it's your fund, try and enjoy the very good trend for altcoins that are working right now. I think we just need to invest in 3 coins, namely bitcoin, ethereum and also binance. I think the three are the safest and most prospective in making a profit. but indeed patience to wait is needed until the bullrun occurs. but if you want to trade too, then all three are good choices too

Are you interested in Tron. I think Tron still has a good chance. The current Tron price is also still low, so you have the opportunity to get more coins. Apart from that, Stellar also still has a good chance going forward. If our capital is small, then we are better off investing in coins with low prices.

At the moment, it is advisable to invest in projects based on Polkadot and Kusama, there are a lot of top projects that can give huge profits, Moonbeam Moonriver Acala Network and other projects.
One thousand dollars can be a good amount to start, you must first define your objectives as regards your return on investment. Do you want to invest long term or short term. I don't know what type of investor you are. but for myself, I will choose the most important investment is safe, so the main choice remains in bitcoin with an investment portion of more than half of your capital. and after that I think you are free to choose whether to invest in safe or risky altcoins, of course for risky altcoins you will get a bigger reward, you can choose vulcan forged which incidentally is a new but potential project

A dozen is still too many to be properly guarded or monitored regularly because even half a dozen can sometimes be a little overwhelming if the investment is only for a short term duration, basically not too much and not too little when it comes to choosing coins for investment. 
There's a lot of ways and options you can invest that $1000 but there's no guarantee that you will earn profit but also remember if you are looking for a fast and high return expect that it would be really risky. Try to divide it to staking, trading and long term investment I think you will manage to increase that.

With that money i think you should choose coin outside top 300 cmc so there still have big possibility for you to get x30 or even x100. I have recommendation for you to do some research about Standard.io this coin is has a good potential and will become one of the best coin in crypto, btw the sale is already open you can buy it!

This year almost all coins increased to 100%, except tokens which have been dead for a long time. But if you want to get insane profits with a capital of $ 1k. I think Binance is the best choice.

Op, you already got a lots of suggestions and you probably confused where to invest and Where not to. So its better you Should also need to have some fundamental analysis to understand about "where should you invest with". Well as you are a newbie, so i can reffer you to bnb coin which is binance exchange coin, contributing billion dollars in crypto field and can hope we'll seen the explosive growth of it in upcoming days
BNB is a good pick for the long term. Rather than just going into investment try to make something with the capital and lookout for regular profit than long term profit. Even BNB is a good choice that has regular market variation. Try making some profit out of the difference in price between time.
