It is a good move to make with altcoins. I will say that you go into ETH 100% as one altcoin, or for more than one, you take ETH 50%
BCH 25%, LTC 25%.

I believe that it has been demonstrated that the most reliable options have been and will continue to be the currencies whose capitalization value has placed them in the first 20 spots of the market. As has been seen these days in the case of the Litecoin, and with many more throughout the year, it seems that investors in this volatile business prefer to minimize risks through the most reliable options.

First of all, always do your own research especially with this amount of money! Try to scan the whole project and get as much informations as you can because there are many "nice-looking" coins that seem promising but in reality are just bloated with hot air. With this said I can recommend you to take a closer look to Deeponion which is still very undervalued. Check the roadmap and the website, get the wallet and do some transactions, register and verify a document with DeepVault, get to know the community in the official forum, watch the regular updates made by the devs. In my opinion there is huge potential

try to devide it into 3 equal parts. Choose one coin from each level, like coin from the top 50, then top 50-100 and one more from 100-200. I thibk it is the best strategy

BTC : 30%
ETH: 20%
LTC: 10%
XMR: 9%
WAVES: 8%
STRAT:8%
XVG: 6%
SNC: 6%
NXT: 2%
ADx: 2%

something like this I'm considering investing.
the idea is not to fill up altcoin without need, if not looking for your good project, right now I would like to invest 50% in waves, because for months already I bought BTC ...

This is very similar to the approach I would take. I would diversify across a handful of coins, make sure I was in some stable ones. I am typically more risky with investments, so I would increase on some of the smaller cap coins, and lower the larger cap.

Splitting up the money investing on multiple currencies will be the best option to invest 20k USD investment. I suggest to invest on litecoin, Neo or waves. Since its shows decent growth in the price chart from the past few months.
I personally will never suggest anyone to invest their fund on altcoins instead of that you can invest all the funds on buying some bitcoins, invest on trading with the fiat cash and bitcoin mining with the ASIC miners. These options you can utilize with the bitcoin investment itself.

I wish I were you thinking about investing $20k. (I am poor) lol anyways, I think currently the best investments are possibly ethereum and litecoin, they still have room to improve on price.

3-5 coins to spread your risk around.  Coins to look at: Komodo - KMD, Peercoin - PPC, ByteBall - GBYTE, Bitcore - BTX, Growers International - GRWI.

IMHO Komodo has the most potential out of the coins I listed.

This isn't advice, this is what I would do with an extra $20K if it was not needed elsewhere.  This may change tomorrow depending on current events.

I would invest in a project with a real product and great real life use case !

In my opinion Wetrust is the best project you can invest in at the moment especially because they will launch the beta version of their product tomorrow and the full version at the end of the month!

with an entry price of 0,55$ at the moment, this project has huge potential!

It's founded by an ex Google employee.

WeTrust aims to provide decentralized financial services and create a more inclusive financial system which allows anyone to access fair, equitable financial services without an expensive trusted third party.

https://www.wetrust.io

Who wouldn't want to invest in a project where the founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin is supporting Wetrust as an advisor and where the CEO of the company is an ex Google employee.

Low market cap: $51.041.606 USD
Low total coin supply: 92,147,500 TRST

If you want to safe for your investment, i advise you invest all your money in Bitcoin or Ethereum. Investing in Altcoins is more risky than Bitcoin or Ethereum but if you can be chose a good altcoins then you can earn very very much profit.
If you want to invest in altcoins you should choose five to ten others. Recommend: Waves, NEM, NEO, OmiseGO, Stratis and BitShares

I would definitely recommend against putting all your eggs in one basket.

That said, I am betting heavily on strong anon coins; I believe they are the wave of the future.  Of those, I like Monero, ZenCash, and Spectrecoin.

Spectrecoin (XSPEC) is my favorite.  Here's why:

It not only has robust and cutting edge privacy and anonymity technology, it is positioned to be the first to have an anonymous, peer-to-peer, small remittance Android app (the SpectreCash app, on the roadmap for next year).  There are a little less than 21 million XSPEC in existence, with an additional 5% added to the total supply each year via generous staking rewards to anyone who keeps their wallet(s) open for staking.

At less than $1 per coin, Spectrecoin is currently a steal.  You can find out more about this hidden gem here: http://coinwiki.info/en/SpectreCoin

So XSPEC could be next XMR?

That is absolutely right bro! I am sorry but I have never heard about that coin. Whatever investment you make, you can not put your money in one hole only. Especially with that much money, you should put your money into some investments. I can only recommend some well-known cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. I have no doubt about them. But if you want to do various research, you can try to analyze on various new Altcoin as mentioned above friends. You can also try Waves, Ripple, and Litecoin. I heard that the price of Litecoin is increasing really fast lately.
