As others said, I would not invest all this into one ICO only. Not even only on ICOs. I would consider buying some cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, for obvious reasons, and then make small investments in some ICOs, like Indahash, AppCoins or Spectre.

Been reading a lot of this type threads, "I've got this xx amount of money, where to invest?"

Seriously these newbies are keep on creating the same threads and no intention of replying to what they've made.

There's no single reply from him.

They are new to this! things have gone bad if you're selfish to yourself. they are here to ask questions. back to our topic. diversify anything you have. $50,000 is big and wait for next year to make a profit. goodluck!

We just have to take time on reading those threads before so that the same questions will not be asked.

Well if they are real newbies and does have a realistic amount of $50,000 they should make their own research though it's really easy to get information and tips here in forum.

$50,000 can easily be tripled or doubled with bitcoin.

It was already said, but no hurt in repeating:
  - 1/3 Bitcoin, 1/3 Ethereum , 1/3 alt coins
  - don't spend more than 10%/15% of your net worth

For the altcoins, I suggest to look into the following variables:
  - still in sale, if possible in pre-sale with a discount
  - always do due diligence about the project: white paper (technical enough ?),  team, investors, advisors, github, google trends,..

Having the above, my favourite projects are:

Props: https://propsproject.com  <- supported by YouNow and backed by Union Square Ventures (the same as Kik or Filecoin)

AppCoins: https://appcoins.io  <- supported by Aptoide and backed by e.Ventures (San Francisco / Germany), Golden Gate Ventures (Singapore) and Gobi VC (China)

Kik: https://kin.kik.com <- not anymore in sale

Compare them using Google Trends (and compare with other ICOs to get a notion of traction):

Very detailed and great suggestion. Although, to me, I would suggest for your to invest more in the bitcoin market, considering the amount you want to shed off in your investment. 50k is such a big amount, and it can buy you a substantial amount of coins to be able to invest or trade that may result to something promising. I think 50/50 would be my option, 50% to bitcoin, since it has been gaining these days, and 50% for strong alts like Eth or Waves for long term investment. Then again, it's up to you, good luck on your investment!

Since Bitcoin has become so valuable so much that everybody all around the world are jostling to have a share of the Bitcoin pie, I will advice you look at ethereum. Your 50k might be worth million in few years in Ethereum

Actually it is a good time to buy altcoins now. Most of them are cheap because of the fork. If i were you i would divide it to 3 equal parts. 1 for bitcoin 1 for altcoins and 1 part for icos.
Yeah you're correct. It is worth to buy the altctoin for the lowest price. 50000$ is a big amount to invest so you will make it sure that all your money invested will double in the near future. Your idea above was definitely great suggestion, don't stick to one, you have options and have any plans (e.g plan A, plan B) on your money.
I agree too. If you like to take risk, which is not that risky if you invest in promising altcoins like Waves, ETH etc., then invest 70% of your money in altcoins. And invest the other 30% in BTC. As always, do your own research before investing in altcoins!

Your $50k$ is a huge fund to invest in cryptocurrency, invest those will bring huge profit. Buy bitcoin and hold for long term, also choose top altcoins. Invest in altcoins because for sure it will give return an income. So, always spread your invest not on only one coin.

Bitcoin is in a dip right now i think the price is around $9500 you should probably buy bitcoins worth of $50000 usd then HODL it for the time being then wait for the bullish price increase and wait for price to reach new all time highs then sell some of it and then buy again cheaper coin when im dips. You've now earned greatly.

While bitcoin is pumping right now, you should prioritize altcoins as your investment, wait for bitcoin to stabilize its price and then buy some. If you plan for doing a long term investment then you should buy ethereum and bitcoin while doing some short term investments with other altcoin to keep you busy.

hi everyone?
first of all let me just say that I am a huge fan of this forum.

So where I am right now is that I have around 50 k to invest in crypto currencies.
My first thought was buying as many antminer l3+ as I could and then keep them in a hosting facility that I found.
then I thought that I should spil 50/50 between mining for litecoins and getting hardware to mine for ethereum.

I know that I am late to the game but I am still hoping that it is profitable.

I would just like to know what would you do ?

thanks for any tips!
Your capital is really big and I think it is better if you will invest it in altcoins. There are many altcoins that is really good for investment. You should try to invest some of your money for you to double or even triple your money.

Well a lot of people have been writing me personal messages to ask about my personal opinion on many altcoins since my comment on page 8. I want to remind you guys that am not an expert, I'm just giving educated guesses and I always go with my guts.

Here is ine of my response to a PM.
---------------------------------------------

Q: hey what do you think about Waves and Somn?

A: Hey there,

I'm not a financial expert but i understand the reason why you're reaching out is because you want to hear second opinions and i am glad to do that for you.

Here's my opinion, I worry that waves attempt to copycat Ethereum is not working out. They are doing everything right but cryptotraders have short term memory and are quite lazy, sometimes when traders get used to doing something a certain way, they get stuck.

I worry that waves has seen it's best times. There's no one hosting an ICO on waves, despite all the awesomeness behind their platform, they're still riding on past glory and so many other companies are coming up within their field. So the competition is going to be quite strong for them. And the thing with cryptocurrencies is that traders generally lack patience, and so much other cool things are happening at the same time so it all boils down to whether or not the value of your coin is going up, otherwise cryptotraders move on real quick.

Somn is yet to prove itself with it's new platform so, if you're already holding some of their tokens, just keep holding them for now.

Finally Next year august is a very long time in crypto world, it really hard to predict that far.

If I were to choose, I'll choose a token that's in a field where there is a possibility of mass adoption, so if even if cryptos don't keep going up, demand from the necessity of  the needs of the generally public to use the product in question will push the price.

Goodluck!

Yes that's me Smiley

I think that now is not a good time to buy bitcoin because it is at a very big price. I think that is will go down from now and the alts will grow. If i had this kind of money i will buy with 50% of the ETH and with the rest i would buy 5-6 alcoins that look promisig. This is a good time to buy alt because they are at a discout price and you have a good number of them to pick from. My favourite is ETP right now.

Wait a bit for BTC to fall (probably around the fork), then just buy BTC and hodl.
If you want to trade and chase some extra gains, you can trade alts.

ETH might be a good buy as well long term, but I would mostly put it into BTC.
