You're a little late because some altcoins have already delivered a pretty high ROI to those who invested a few weeks ago, but it's better to be late than never. Maybe you should choose the top 100 cmc, but the ones I recommend the most are XRP and ETH

at first i thought you were literally asking where to gamble your money. i think those high ROI projects are also high risk projects since some of them might not be really good or might just drop their project i think focusing on some coins like you have stated is good enough and if you can play the trading right i think you can make some good profit out of it.

No, I have a dedicated amount to invest - this I do in projects which I believe are relatively secure: e.g. BTC, ETH, XRP, ADA, VET, etc. However, I also like to dedicate a smaller amount of money to projects which will potentially give a very high ROI. It is these projects which I am currently looking for.

Is the "few buck" all you have left in your entire savings or just in Crypto space? If yes, I would advice you use it for better things or invest it in something that will most likely yield you profits in the future rather than gamble with it for fun or on projects you are not sure about their successes.
I guess you want to invest, in hope to be lucky with huge gains? I'd probably invest long-term in such projects (good projects) with the "few buck" once I'm sure they will do well in the future.

AXS, AVAX, CTSI, STX, ZIL, HOT, and MATIC. Relatively this isn't that has low marketcap but I think the average but over time I think this coins will grow as per the factors of coins you're trying to find. If I'd pick around the coins I stated I'd choose to be more bullish on MATIC, in terms of transaction fee it's instant and too low besides that it's a Layer 2 off/side chain scaling solution meaning that over time other coins/tokens in the market even in the defi craze.
At the end of the day it's still your decision that matters and just giving my opinion but if you want to invest in something better consult with a financial advisor and always DYOR, that's the best thing to do IMO.

how much money do you have right now?
if it's over $ 1k, I'd suggest buying an altcoin like Cardano or Polkadot. don't buy altcoins that have gone up very high like XRP (ripple). This is very dangerous because the price may stop rising. buy an old altcoin that is far from ATH, I'm sure a few weeks from now good quality altcoins will return to ATH or even fly higher.
I actually have some pretty promising lists of altcoins, but you'd better find out for yourself because that's much better than listening to someone else's word.

It looks like you must go to the top 100 CMC as there are some coins that are not yet getting pumped. It seems like you will get a lot of risk when investing in bitcoin or XRP at this moment. You must search for an undervalued token or coins.

I would like to advise you to use that money for other things not to use it in gambling games of chance. Only spend money on them when it feels more like an entertaining game than a way to make money. For a small amount, i think you can take it out and pay for your small daily living expenses, or you can follow the advice of those above to buy yourself some xrp and wait for it to up. XRP have the potential to grow over 1$, it's still a good buy right now and there are some top altcoins that haven't grown much compared to XRP you can hunt for such coins, ETH and BNB are another reliable options that will definitely surge higher in next few weeks, ETH 2.0 is still on its way and the ETH staking is already well funded right now, it will pump very high since with all the Covid stuff casinos are closed, I have a few bucks left to simply gamble with. If you want a safe investment with a low budget, you can always go for XRP but when you said gamble, I'm thinking you are going to invest in some new ALtcoins which is not confirmed to hit the market soon. since it is not a big investment, you can go for that and don't hesitate to invest in the project you choose for it will bring you to somewhere good when it listed in the market.

Perhaps stellar can give you a profit at the current situation. Its price still low and the movement price is really volatile you can get money in a few times although it depends on your analyst.
If you see on the crypto market almost altcoins prices are increasing, but I just suggested to choose an altcoin which is in the top 50 rank (coinmarketcap/coingecko) at least it will make your comfortable.
Also I agree with some users above me who give a suggestion to not choose new project. Indeed the profit that will get is high but your chance to get loss is high as well even loss all your fund. Just coin that being traded on some popular exchanges.

I could only suggest Bitcoin but the price is already which is risky to enter at this time. A kind of diversion may help and choose potential altcoins (ETH, BNB, EOS) than choosing new projects. Of course, it was your choice and decision to risk them but I'm worried that it only gives you losses than having doubled your money.
But above all, you need to observe first the behavior you wanted to choose by. Don't get rush because it was the reason why most newcomers suffered failures.

Almost all the good coins have already grown in price so much. I think it is best for you to wait for the little correction and then enter right away. It looks like the price increase of so many altcoins and Bitcoin is not yet through. There will be more pumps to happen in the coming weeks at least for the rest of December. Just don't fall for cheap shitcoins. Why don't you just choose Bitcoin and Ethereum before considering other coins?

The best gambling opportunities both were in the top 10 largest rising projects in the last bull run.
1. Bitbay is the original smart contract project. It is the most under valued project here bar none.
If a person can show me one project that offers more at a lower market cap I will sell all my Bitbay and buy it.
Decentralised market place with unbreakable contracts. The only decentralised price stability mechanism, almost ready custom exchange in house.
2. Blocknet. If binance want to copy their design it is good.
Bitcoin for me with only 10% gambling.
