yep 4 hours logged in time is required. Maybe use a refresh page browser plugin and let it run overnight, might work.
I just clocked over 4 hours and am still trapped in newbie jail.

Well that was all fine and dandy getting the 5 posts, but this 4 hours time, is it required too as I read above? Because its not working in real time. UGH

I've been a lurker for a while without an account, but now suddenly there are some topics which require my most urgent responses and I find myself to be a newbie. Quite the frustrating experience.

Actually OP, posting as a normal person is only possible as a newbie. In a week you'll be as crazy as any other off topic poster here.
