I have a good amount of btc that I'm very pleased with. I love btc. Are there any other coins you guys could recommend I buy next? (none of your comments count as financial advice)
If you are willing for long-term holding, Bitcoin is the best choice for you. I don't think that you need to convert your some of Bitcoin to altcoins.
If you have other free money to add to Altcoin investment, I just think of getting into BNB or ETH. Because these two coins are in my mind. But, if you are willing to take a higher risk, you may need to seek new altcoins with a high market cap when in the low price right now.

The best decision would be to keep your money in bitcoin and if you are looking for more potential coins you can invest in ethereum litecoin and bnb. These coins will also keep your money very safe although none of the coins will guarantee you a profit.  But on the inside, the chances of your money being completely scammed will be very less then another altcoins. I am not giving you financial advice.  I am just sharing my personal opinion you must think twice before investing then invest anywhere

If you want my opinion (not financial advice, by the way).
Besides Bitcoin, Monero is a project that should be in any crypto portfolio, because it has a very real use case, it goes all in into privacy and there is a committed community behind it.

The only disadvantage I see with monero is its inflationary model, they can mine up to 0.6 XMR per block but besides that, it is a wonderful project if you keep in mind how privacy is becoming an issue as years pass. You should definitely DYOR on it and see for yourself what I mean.  Smiley

Bitcoin is obviously King but there are alts that you can make good money on. Ethereum did a better ROI than bitcoin in the last cycle. It could do so again maybe!

Many alts have the potential to do a much bigger x than bitcoin but there is much more risk involved than simply buying & holding the safest option by far, bitcoin.

Well i am glad you are pretty much aware of the risks of taking financial advice from others, but since you already asked, i'd answer based on my own knowledge. If you already have a good amount of Bitcoin, then what you should do is to buy other assets that are not cryptocurrencies, diversification is when you buy Bitcoin and other non-crypto assets. OR you could continue to accumulate more Bitcoin into the long term, there are quite a lot of people that have thousands of Bitcoin, but yet still accumulating, it is a long term sustainable coin and has a very secure network so there's nothing wrong in accumulating as much as possible, as long as you can hodl it safely and prevent loss.

First, if you start accumulating with Bitcoin then you decided good. Bitcoin is king here. After it, best altcoins to buy and hold are Ethereum, BNB and Avax in my opinion. These 3 have their own blockchains so that means there are many different projects and possibilities increase. All 3 are very useful in my opinion and nearly all exchanges have pairs with these. Other than these 3 I personally like and support Litecoin (speed), Monero (anonymity). I tend to invest.

That's a good decision to buy Bitcoin right away and then later buy another crypto for whatever you do with it. If you don't want to make some research for some reason like being lazy or whatever it is then I recommend buying cryptocurrency that is in the top 10 or top 50 but if you didn't like it then better buy crypto that are being used in transaction all the time.
well, the recommended altcoins are only in the top 10 range, and the altcoins below that have a higher risk than the top 10 altcoins.
I think owning bitcoins is pretty good, especially if we don't have a lot of bitcoins, then it would be better to focus on bitcoins. however, if the OP really wants to divide his assets into several investment places, then among the top 10 altcoins, the recommended ones are Ethereum and BNB.

considers sparing some money to invest in new projects that are gaining fame. take for example is aptos, had you invested in this coin where it was around the airdrops phase when the value was decreased so hard for the aftermath of the massive airdrop dumping you'd have made some serious returns since its value is increasing so high after that, simply because the project itself is good that people think it deserving of higher value.

You may consider choosing any of the top 10 altcoins in the market OP. I don't want to mention any of those but it was you to take a look and make your discovery. Many members are telling you about ETH and BNB, of course, they are growing and profitable investments long-term but I'm not sure if you are preferred to do it. That is why you should look for projects that could pass your criteria, in fact, choosing Bitcoin alone is already good enough. It was secured and can really be trusted over the others.
It needs to be mentioned that the top 10 coins in the market are always changing and there are even coins that got to that position only to be revealed that they were scams, so anyone thinking about investing in any coin needs to do their due diligence, which explains why ethereum and BNB are the two most recommended coins to invest in as out of the rest of the coins in the top 10 they are the coins that have gained the trust of the community over the years, while the rest of the coins generate still some doubts in the members of the community.

Hi all new to the forum here i also have Bitcoin & Ethereum as a base for my portfolio
i would research all the ISO compliant cryptos and hold some of those also
xrp xlm hbar etc
also LCX

Plenty other sectors which are showing some growth also
research:
metaverse
AI
Gaming

Cant go wrong with Both Eth & bnb which are used on multiple dex for fees etc pancake/sushi/uniswap etc
that users connect with through a number of wallets.
these can also be connected directly from cold storage too for added security.

I think its a good idea to also have a small portion of a portfolio invested in meme coins as the multipliers can be pretty high. Also adds abit of fun!
Especially at the moment many are not too far from their all time lows.
Good time to invest & diversify.

keep up the research

Ethereum, BNB and Algorand and this is a piece of financial advice based on their potential, if you want to explore and you are a fan of Staking then go for Betfury and stake your token in their platform I don't recommend you to gamble if gambling is not your interest, there are so many coins/tokens worth looking if you allocate funds for experimental project ADDMEFAST token is a social networking token and Graphene too, now these two is not a piece of financial advice but an experimental investment.

ETH and BNB.
With these two, these are the alts that I've got next on my stash after bitcoin. It wouldn't be a lot from my portfolio but I am making sure that I wouldn't miss any gains for the next trend.
Even if it won't be the same like those alts that are pumping like 100x but at least, this is no guessing game than of those that chooses altcoins randomly and buys it.

Just focus on the top 10-11 and that should be enough. I dislike XRP and Doge and stablecoins. Which leaves us with; BTC, ETH, BNB, ADA, MATIC right now, I like Avax too because the creator is a Turkish guy and I am Turkish as well so that's a bit of a proud thing for me, but you do not have to if you don't feel like that, and SOL is literally at 11th so its not really that bad down the line, you can even go as low as DOT and LTC as well, both of which is great. So a quite good portfolio of; BTC, ETH, BNB, ADA, MATIC, SOL, DOT, LTC, AVAX these ones that you can collect? That should be insanely good.
There are better coins above the 11th spot. It's only a shame that the top 10 is mostly occupied but a not so really good coins and there are three stable coins which I think a waste of slot. I think you are a bit biased about Avax because I am not really hearing a good feedback about this coin but I can't blame you much since the coin came from your own country.

@OP you already have a Bitcoin but that alone is already a solid investment. You can choose to pour most of your money on that coin and you will be just fine. You don't really need to complicate things when it comes to crypto investing. Plus some coins might only decrease your earning potential.

I totally agree, the only reason why I kept it in is the fact that they are listed pretty high even after the whole FTX thing, so I assumed that there was a decent enough community interest towards it. I fully expected it to crash after the FTX scandal, but it didn't and still kept itself high enough to be ranked highly, so maybe there could be enough interest to make it keep going. At the end of the day we are talking about something that is a bit risky, so if anyone removed SOL from their list I wouldn't really be shocked, I have a very small portion of it these days, might even get rid of it soon.

Of the many altcoins on the market, it can be difficult to find the right coin because each coin will want to increase its price when the market reverses. And that makes it even more difficult for us to choose the coins because they look promising. If you have more time, you can try to analyze the list of the top 50-100 coins to have more choices and diversify your assets. But again, it won't be easy to find the right coin and before you start investing, determine how much money it is so that it won't exceed your budget limit.

MATIC and Solana are the ones on my portfolio right now and I plan to make an investment plan around those two.  They're down right now but ultimately you usually buy coins when they're down and now when they're up anyway. Those two are relatively known as well so I don't think there's lacking info about it there. As for unknown ones with probably better returns, I don't really look for them, never really have the time to study up new projects and determine whether they're going to be something or not.

There are some promising coins in the market, you can look at the top 50 coins on the market cap and then look at the coins that were not pumped yet or had crashed hard but the developer is still active.  But in terms of specifics, BNB even though CZ is somehow in a hot seat atm, is still promising. ETH had already skyrocketed so I think the next big thing on the next bull run is BNB.  You can also check MATIC, and ADA.  For a lesser popular altcoin, you can check UTRUST and Biswap.
