Congratulations bro also thank you for the impartation, how i wish we could make this achievable around the local school within the LGA's (Local Government Area) or other LGA around PHcity would have be a great achievement ever in my life, if we could join together to walk and work around some school within the LGA's. I don't mind rending my 2 system for the practical class in as much as we spread the knowledge across the schools within the LGAs. And lastly reducing much attention on the investment area as many may not comprehend it very well as we do, maybe might think is a get rich quick scheme.

Sorry for this, i never noticed this thread
I want to also thank those that deeply renders a solution to you.

I want to commend you for taking this initiative !  I myself try and use a portion, if not all of my campaign monies to try and do some good, normally donating it to different charities throughout the year.  What a great way to help the young kids out as well as give them an education.  Starting kids out this young on financials will help them and go a long ways in the future.  Doing anything young helps build that stable platform for the future.  Kudos!! Keep it up!

I admire your initiative to share your blessings so others would be more knowledgeable about Bitcoin. This act is such an inspiration, especially for those who want to start spreading awareness about Bitcoin in their community. The younger generation that lacks equipment but have the eagerness to learn really needs our help. I believe that you will be rewarded with blessings in the future.

Well done Agbe. You have done well. You have begun to sow a seed in the minds of those young ones. Please always remember to tell them how risky cryptocurrency is so that they do not think it is all rosy. Meanwhile, I'm curious and I want to ask the following questions:
1. What is the age range of the students?
2. How many days did it take you to teach them these important concepts?
3. Aside the online resources, what other offline resources do you plan on utilizing during the classes?

Once a man, twice a child!
I love initiatives like this. I like people who don't withhold knowledge or information from others. That you're willing to teach the little you've known shows how great a mind you've. To top it up, you're even spending your personal funds doing it. Kudos, bro.

The picture of the classroom is really a sad reminder of what the education system has become in Nigeria where various elected administrations have continued to pay lips service to that sector. Strikes upon strikes from education unions have not deterred the government in anyway in their seamless efforts to run the entire system aground. It's really sad.

This is a great move, and it only takes one with a good heart to actually do what you just did for this kids. Sacrificing a money paid for a campaign to buy laptop for practical kids crypto class is one thing I have never seen anyone done on this forum before, and for you to have taken this bold step, I hope you don't get tired later but continue your classes while you keep on updating us on the forum, as I will really love to see more of this

Hi mate,

First of all, congratulations on earning money from the Bitcointalk forum. Also, you spent it on a really good cause, which will surely motivate someone else too to do the same.
I would like to ask some questions, I hope you will reply back to them.

1. Are you teaching Bitcoin to everyone or a certain age group/gender?
2. If a certain age group/gender, why not everyone?
3. Are you sure they are understanding the actual concept of Bitcoin and not just the monetary value?

Good Luck!  Wink

My comrade thank you very much for your concern. please reduce my stress, all your questions have been answered from my first class thread which I also provided on the OP here based on the kinds of questions that might appear. Now that yours have come, please kindly re-read the OP, the last statement with the link and understand classes that are involved. That is not withstanding. let me answer them but please still read the first thread for more understanding. answering your questions
1. It is for certain classes (JSS 1-SS3)
2. When you say everyone, it means even nursery and primary one, which is not good. so I used Secondary schoo
3. Yes, they are understand the actual concept based on the evaluation.

Brilliant, Agbe. Think I've seen your previous posts before -- I always say and repeat: keep things simple, for the sake of simplicity, it's okay to sacrifice technical accuracy so you get the kids motivated and interested. Eventually, we all learn more and correct our assumptions, and realise later some assumptions aren't important to the user

The concern shouldn't be to correct at this stage, but to provide a basic foundation. And perhaps at this stage, it's more of economics than of computer science Wink

I would question teaching trading/investment though, even if it is Bitcoin's biggest use case at the moment, and yes, that is unpopular to accept.

What a great initiative and everyone appreciates what you're doing in your community there. Teaching kids about bitcoin at a young age will help them realize that this is the future. And it's not just all about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and blockchain but all about technology which will open their minds that there is certainly a lot of it. I think this can be expanded in other nearby schools if you go ahead and ask for some help and support from the local officials.

Yes its a great initiative by Agbe.

To use earnings to directly help a local community and teach the younger generation
about Bitcoin is very generous with time and funds.

I remember the original thread and it got a lot of interest. The laptop will transform the
learning for the class.

Very nice of you!

About the classes.. you should ask more on the forum. The fact you have small errors here and there means that you didn't understand everything perfectly. And this usually translates into students not understanding everything perfectly. And unfortunately, in the bitcoin world, misunderstandings can easily translate into funds lost.

I don't want you stop teaching them, no way, you're on the great direction. Just you too have to keep learning.

Great initiative. You have been doing a really great job for the students you are charged with educating. The basic school system teaches very little about what one would experience in real life, thank you for changing that a bit.

I am actually more excited you are teaching investments, I would assume that would come with financial education and how to manage money which is a core component of making investments. Also utilize resources like books, videos or articles to make the lessons more fun for the kids, or those who are interested.

You can consider linking all your previous threads on this topic together, so viewers can easily follow the conversation.

That is a good initiative, but you still make mistakes, it would be good if you correct that.

Like what is crypto wallet. For me to be specific, I will use bitcoin.

Bitcoin is not stored on wallet, it is stored on blockchain which is an open ledger that is available to the public, the wallet generates the seed phrase,  keys (private and public keys) and addresses. The private key and the seed phrase can be used to recover your wallet and coins and generate the same addresses. The private key also is used to generate a signature for signing transaction. Bitcoin is sent to address which is a harsh from the public key and can be given to anyone just like bank account number.

Two types of wallets:
  • Online/hot wallet
  • Offline cold wallet

Online wallets are of three types:
  • Web wallet
  • mobile wallet
  • desktopwallet

Cold wallet are:
  • paper wallet, if properly generated on air gapped device
  • reputed hardware wallet
  • wallet generated on air gapped device like Electrum cold storage

About trading and investment, you need to let them know how trading is highly risky.

Thank for the minor corrections. I am very happy that people like you are here with me. I know myself that I am not perfect but I am trying my best to make sure I do my best to impact the acquired knowledge to them. I will want you and others to stay turn because  the practical class will be done by me and others in the forum. please your contributions are highly needed. Thanks

Kudos to you for this initiative, giving knowledge back to society is the most valuable gift any individual can give his/her generation. And Agbe you have done well by investing in the knowledge building of students in your area, I encourage you to cover more topics such as blockchain and finances. I have a similar charity program currently running for some time, but my mind is focused on young graduates and not secondary school students as I view them to be too young to be bordered by the problematic financial economy and monetary theories but then I still believe your initiative to the cash they mind young.
You can check this thread on my Charity work and let me know any area you need assistance and guidance, keep up the good work bro.
