I have learn that since 2018 but i mistakenly truth one project which i have lose 70 percent of my my money recently i should have sell when it was listed with a good price but price later go down.
With recent events in crypto currency trades since January 2019, I have learnt to cash out
Crypto currency long term hodl is very good and rewarding no doubts
But we are at a stage where crypto is formed by whales and the money controllers
With the persistent pump and dumps by the whales; crypto is like a game at the moment
You can make more profits by trading it often but the risk also high in doing that,so you need to be aware of having enough knowledge about crypto trading before doing it.Crypto currency long term hodl is very good and rewarding no doubts

For the people who are not in need of short term profits and want huge profits by practicing patience then holding is good thing.
The OP is learning to withdraw and seems to reduce its panic when the market moves unfavorably for him. Indeed there are times when we can withdraw it for needs not just for investment, one of the actions of the OP is indeed good for him and it can reduce his sense of stress. For those who have patience and experience, they will take action wisely.
Am still find it very difficult to always use this concept in cryptocurrency maybe am greedy because I always want more which always makes me to lose more. I seriously need to work on myself if I truly want to make it in this space.

we have to know how to get back to FIAT, now sometimes you have to cash in and after buying it back. but now is the bear market, cash is very low, you can consider staying in the bull market.
Possibly OP never understand the basic rules that govern the buy and sell in crypto-world. At first, when i was into the investment side of cryptocurrency, i buy when the market get dumped and sell when it's pumped. Sell even at 4% gain was my little tactics and have never regret that till now. Know when to buy and sell means alot in the crypto-sphere.
Also, you do not need to hold any coins - you need to know what to keep and get rid of.
Projects reach their peak quickly and after a year or two nobody can remember them.
In any case, you just need to get a lot of information on projects, then to dispose of it
If you are a kind of investor to invest on the new projects then will cashout once it reaches your desired profits then holding is also highly risky.I just said about holding the coins like bitcoin and ethereum which has very less chance of going nothing. You are absolutely right about this trading strategy and I am not against it at all but we also need to be careful in doing so, this is the practice that made many investor loose out in the last BULL RUN, they were cashing out and when the time for BULL RUN came, it coincided with the time some of them cashed out, and a the increase became a speedy one, to get another entry point for them became a very hard one for them, till the increase became scary and they could no longer invest.Crypto currency long term hodl is very good and rewarding no doubts

If we are to practice your advice, which is not a bad one, I would advise that we practice this method on coins that we are not sure of their future stand, but for BTC, we cannot really be sure that this practice will fully favor us.
To invest for good profit.l have learnt a lesson to wait for good time only.

At this point in crypto sphere, we must learn to cash out at the right time or else we stand a chance of loosing everything we have worked for.
Hold is not the best way to earn money in this market. With some coins, I already sit a year and I could sell several times, and then buy cheaper and again sell more expensive and so on. Market is really very manipulative because it is not controlled by anyone.

I do envy you Sir. I must admit that up until now, i still haven't learned even the basic know-hows of cashing out. If i wanted to have my tokens changed into fiat, i rely on my nephews availabilities and abilities. But naturally i am determined to learn it one way or the other. I am getting the facts and details from different applications available on the internet and on some trading topics here on this forum. Although i must say, i'm really not that in a hurry to learn everything yet [that is until my set price goal for trading finally registers in the crypto chart], i want to take it slowly but surely. And with all that's happening on crypto market now-adays, cashing out may also be rewarding.
There is no solid proof about whales controlling market or price. But i am agree that big money coming to cryptomarket and trying to control the market. Big company like JP Morgan want to create their own coin and preparing to jump in cryptomarket and i think its good moment to invest in crypto
yup! you are right.i also always read that, but there is no strong evidence for that. i think they only say nonsense, i don't believe the market is controlled by a group of people. they will need a lot of money to control it.

In my experience HODL yes is profitable but why you should HODL if you can earn through swings in bull and bearish market, by holding you wasted the opportunities to earn through swings and day trades.
What you can do is to have half of your investment go into HODL and the other half to day trading and swing trades.

This would work if you are holding new coins which is most likely from ICOs started 2017 up to present. Holding altcoins for too long and waiting for a great pump is not a good idea. Some projects die too soon just before they finish or launch their product. Patience will pay-off if you think what you are holding has a long-term potential, if not then you should know when to make an exit.
