Hi, don't worry about your money I think btc-e will be available soon, they will either continue to work or allow to withdrawals only. I am sure that all funds are safe now.

I equally hope they will come around at least to allow users to withdraw their coins, i have small amount of btc with them but it is my my money no matter how small.

I hope your assumption can become a reality though there is no source for such information.

IMHO the next level is decentralized exchanges like:
  • Waves DEX
  • NXT Asset Exchange
  • BitShares Asset Exchange
  • Lykke

Does anyone have a good experience with decentralized exchanges?

I am planning on using the bitshares DEX for my project and run the coins as a User Issued Asset.  My team and I like the easy multisig hierarchy functions built in and the decentralized aspects of the exchange.

Hi! ... I have been using BitShares a bit since a while, it works pretty well, also has some decent volume.

NXT and Waves do work well, too, but AFAIK only BitShares has those fully collateralized pegged assets such as BitUSD and BitGold, which would be of great help when you want to trade your UIA against a not-so-volatile token.
Correct me, if i'm wrong, but on Waves, the USD is apparently a third-party backed token, similar to the Openledger tokens on BTS.

What I miss on BTS is a wallet that does work on my smartphone(s), and a better support of BTS tokens on the altcoin exchanges. Can't find BitUSD or BitSilver traded anywhere.

Thank you for a valuable feedback. I should give a try to DEX by BitShares.

Good luck with the project.
I also lost few ETH at btc e.
Sad to hear it, I sympathize with you and all those who have lost money there. All did not expect that the greatest exchanger could fall. The confidence of the exchanger is reduced, hopefully not the same case occurs.

I have some experience using the dex before and it works great on bitshares. Very fast and reliable. The only small problem I could find with it is there is no real hardware wallet for bitshares assets so have to rely on multisig to secure funds.
Dex is still trustworthy, I've tried it. Most importantly they provide good service, fast and reliable. As long as there are no suspicious cases like WD pending, etc, you are safe to use them.

But the volume of trades their cannot support for a coin to pump hard, But their are promising one if you spot those great coin listed their so much better if we seek better profits we must go on better exchange but we shouldn't placed to much money on one particular exchange to avoid some lose just like what btc-e happenings and better seek multiple exchange to make our life more easier.
I never keep money there, too risky. Play fast to take advantage of it safer, Case BTC-e is a bad example, no one can be trusted on the internet. Unless we are smarter and disciplined to invest. Trying to secure the money you have right away.

It's seems new domain will be https://btc-e.top. Beware, do not enter your login/pass, before official info from devs.
The site is down as for now. Looks like it was a fishing site!

From a decentralized exchange as you mentioned above, I only use WAVES DEX. So far I have no problem with deposite or withdrawal. About security, I think dex is very safe. It's just that I do not like is a lot of fake assets scattered on dex. So be careful if you want to trade, make sure the asset has a green mark so you are not fooled to buy fake assets.

I really do not understand people who have (tens/hundreds) thousands of dollars worth of cryptocurrency and do not buy ledger or trezor.
Yeah they have a huge amount of money and don't even bother to keep it safe in their own hands,
I mean why wouldn't they use it and why would they trust their thousands of dollars in just the hands of some sites.
We all know that there are a chance that even a legit site's could gone wrong.

The honest answer is: greed for money. A hope to become richer by speculating with cryptocurrencies.

Hi, don't worry about your money I think btc-e will be available soon, they will either continue to work or allow to withdrawals only. I am sure that all funds are safe now.

Isn't it a bit presumptious saying they will be back? How do you know this? I doubt they will come back anytime soon, considering the authorities hit them with a record fine. My hope is that those with legit claims find a way to retreive their lost coins.
