I want to believe that when you wrote this post ethereum had a stagnant price movement, but that is npt the case today as Ethereum has been increasing and gaining against the usd and will continue to do so irrespective of the movement of bitcoin.

Whatever the situation you have to invest in both coins, they compliment each other and when it comes to price they boast each other, they always go up together and always profitable for investors, they deserve to be the top two coins in the market.

Not only ETH but all altcoins are depended on bitcoin as they are valued by bitcoin, so bitcoin is the king and if you want to invest then better invest in bitcoin.

If we consider that the issue of bitcoins is limited , and many people want to keep it in their wallets - this by definition should push the price up. I don't understand why so many people haven't done it yet .

Things somehow again boils down to the fact if you are a trader or investor. A long term investor can make use of the coins by investing in both if them for long. Long because you would have enough time to see the peak in the market and could cash away some coins as well holding the rest. Trading right now is not so much appreciated as we do not have that positive vibes and signs to make money in trading.

both coins are indeed good coins and have been proven to produce big ones.
the difference is the price of Bitcoin is higher than Ethereum.
but they have great strength, and to invest or whatever it depends you will choose which one.
if you have less capital to buy Bitcoin, you have to invest in Ethereum which is cheaper.
