Definitely ETH no need to worry about coin going to void due to high cap because the chance it get delisted from exchange is very slim that makes you always have the opportunity to withdraw it to money ltc in my opinion is out of option because its basically dying and being overtaken by many new projects right and left.
ETH is a favorite smart contract platform, so it's great if you invest in Ethereum, but remember the RISK is bigger, you have to consider this, for your opinion on Litecoin I don't agree, Litecoin has been a top altcoin for a long time, and has always been at the top 100 coinmarketcap, this coin potential is still good, dont worry

It will be great if you provide detail about your investment plan. Are planning to start buying and keep holding for a long time or a short time? Do you want to be trading daily to earn a profit? if a long term investment is what you are thinking of, I will suggest you consider bitcoin. It is the strongest crypto out there. It is less volatile compared to the rest and the price of others depends on bitcoin as well. It has a lot of prospects and you can rest assured that you will make a profit in the long run

Many people will definitely recommend Bitcoin or Ethereum for you to explore, Bitcoin and Ethereum do look really good to explore what else to invest in but if you are exploring Bitcoin or Ethereum to get started it is too difficult because Bitcoin price looks really high for now and for Ethereum gas costs also too high, if you want to explore for starters you better use Altcoin XRP or TRX because both Altcoins still look good and are perfect for you to explore for starters.

Surprisingly, no one voted for LTC, it seems that this project has no longer caught the attention of investors in this market, so the price did not move too much during the last bull run. Btw I will also choose BTC as the top project so that we can invest in the long term, besides I will buy some ETH and BNB to hold
If you want to hold it in the long run, then obviously the coins and tokens you choose are very good, but if you want to look for daily profits for now, then you can buy several units of TRON tokens, because Tron is in good shape at the moment.

While you are asking about in which to invest?but i find your post as if you have already chooses 5 altcoins here?

As for me, The top 5 altcoins rating are as follows:
1. Ripple
2. Chainlink
3. Algorand
4. yEarn.Finance
5. VeChain

Why it looks like only Few in your choices as listed in this post?

which is true and what is false?

You enter a bitcoin forum and ask what's the best. for now and forever BTC is still number 1, but if you've been studying crypto for a few years you might start trying to invest in some altcoins. no need to rush, extensive knowledge will help you later.
You are in Altcoin section mate, why advising Bitcoin?

Though Bitcoin is the rank 1 coins still There are other altcoins that can be line on this rank.

i have put my vote for BTC; simply because you are inexperienced, which could be seen when you included USDT in your prospective portfolio, it is stable coin, so you cannot really expect from USDT to change value Smiley
XRP, LTC, BCH are not recommended at all from my point of view, TRX could make some gains, but generally project is just a copy and does not offer much in the end, and ETH could be potentially good for investment, BTC is better for stability, although there is nothing stable in crypto

Like all the others I voted for Bitcoin, knowledge in Cryptocurrency should start with knowledge on how Bitcoin  works and operates I got my first transaction on Bitcoin once I understood it, I have no problem understanding about how POW works , mining, decentralization and block chain works, newbies should start with Bitcoin and do their first transaction using Bitcoin.

Depends on what kind of advice you wanted to have. If you're talking about investment in crypto world you could start by trading or joining a new projects as their investor. And you're asking which coin is the best to start off. Well, even if we tell you which one, no one from us knows well enough whether it will give you profits or nay. So, try going to beginner section, you'll find lots of great information in there. And you own research is your best friend and do it with your own risk.

I will also suggest that you can go for Tron as a starter, especially if you don't really have much capital to invest. Tron has high supply, the effect of it's price increase is quickly felt even if you buy like 10,000 of it  and TRX is doing well now.  However, if you have much for investment and you have someone trustworthy and experienced in crypto trading to guide you, then you can invest in BTC or ETH.

In my opinion, it's too late to invest in Tron. Over the past few days, its cost has increased almost 2 times. Therefore, you need to select something from new DeFI projects, those that have not yet increased in price by hundreds or thousands of times. And of course, part of your investment should be directed to the purchase of BTC and ETH.

For someone like you, it's always the best choice to get bitcoin as early as you can.

When you have bitcoin, you can start investing to altcoins. You will never go wrong buying bitcoin before you invest to any altcoin that will be suggested to you.

Majority voted for Bitcoin, and that's the best start for investing in cryptocurrencies. It's the first one and the most popular one among people, before you start checking out some other altcoins try to stack as much Bitcoins you can, and when you are satisfied with your Bitcoin holdings it's time for other altcoins. Don't forget to do your own research before you invest, don't trust in everything you read and all the promotions.

First of all BTC is not an altcoin  Smiley.
I know a lot of people that are saying every crypto portfolio should at least have 50% BTC in it.
I don't know about that, i mean if you are new to crypto and have only a few 100 $ to invest then it's just a weird feeling to own 0,05 BTC  Roll Eyes.
But of course BTC is safer than every altcoin out there.

For any beginner in the world of crpytos I would recommend some Bitcoins, it doesn't need to be a lot you invest just at least hold some. Who knows how high the BTC price will rise. It's better to be at least a bit invested. If you are looking for some alternatives I would recommend ETH. Both BTC and ETH are widely used and have a lot of investors. The risk of one of those currencies too lose a lot of value in the near future is fairly small.

Even high ranks members makes a mistakes if they can do an analysis so can you so better create your own criteria on how to research for a right coin to invest and enjoy the ride, right now the best coin to invest if you are just stating out is still Bitcoin, there are many reasons why you have to invest in them first. market dominance, they are on 100% of exchanges makes it easy to liquidate of course they are the the one that started all this.

You should remove usdt from the list because it won't bring any profit for your investment, it serves a different kind of purpose, that being said, I think you should stick to btc and eth as a fresh start in the crypto space, this two are the safest investment for new people, then when you have fully understood the risk of alts, you can venture into some top ones.

First of all you definitely need some BTC or ETH on your portfolio because those two will help you buy other altcoins. since you are new to crypto I would suggest you invest in large market cap projects to get a gist of how the crypto market works.

First, decide what you want - every 10 minutes to look at the terminal or just sit and not be afraid, waiting for the movements.
If the first - you can take anything and start learning trading. You can make money on this, and many people do so.
If you do not want to make unnecessary movements, then just buy BTC/ETH and wait for something so Grand that there will be an incredible jump in the price. And then sell it.
There are different pitfalls on both paths, but the general meaning is really something like this.

What is your purpose to be exact? Those coins would be useless unless you have a knowledge in background of financial literacy, risk management, blockchain technology, etc. There are many factors to consider before holding a coin nor investing in one, but if you would just asking "what to use", then it would depend. If you want a long term investment, then TRX, XRP, and LTC is good (while their price is low). If you want a short term trading, anything can be good as long as you are a good trader. But if you would wanna ask what system is good, then XRP is nice with its low fees and fast trasnsactions.

As you continue to study the crypto space, lay your hands on technical analysis and know the reason behind price movement, Google is your best friend and try to avoid YouTubers that will be promoting 300x in few days or months. They will make you rekt in short time. From your list, BTC is for long time, ETH is for short time if they don't solve the problem as regards the high cost of gas for transactions and able to implement the sharding technology. ETH 2.0 has been promising only and not a reality. TRX and LTC will also be a good choice for long positions. USDT is a stable coin and you don't need any advice about its investment. If you hold it, it remains on that value.

Are you aware that you need to gamble your investment or capital before you can make actual trading?
Also, do you have the name of the coin you will try to invest in here? and do you know what is your goal target

It depends on your plan and strategy if you're going to be a short or long term hodler. When it comes to popularity then I voted for bitcoin.
This is a best coin to invest especially for newbies.
Currently the price is decreasing and a right timing to buy.
Hold some btc and wait for the increase again.

Anyways there are many existing thread similar to this so might as well do some research to get an idea.

USDT is different from the other cryptocurrencies you have on that list, it’s a stable coin while the other ones are volatile coins. I don’t know how many of the coins you intend to buy, but the first one I will recommend is that Bitcoin, it’s a good choice to start with. Then you can as well start with Ethereum if you plan to diversify your portfolio. Litecoin is another good cryptocurrencyto add to it.

All the tokens that you recommend can be said to be very suitable for investment purposes. Because in my opinion, everything includes coins that are already very popular among Crypto investors.

Yes that’s true, all the cryptocurrencies are already very popular. Anyone he chooses to invest in will still be good, but I will still say he should go with bitcoin, because that’s more of a better choice and will help him understand how the cryptocurrency market works better. And it’s more acceptable than the rest on the list.

ETH is the best coin for me. Just by looking at the value of ETH recently, we will know that ETH still have potential to become more valueable.
But unfortunately the gas price in Ethereum network is very high at the moment, we may need some funds to move our coin.

I'm just making my way into the world of Cryptocurrency and I need the advice of each of you all.
What advice do you want to know here: investing, trading, crypto, Bitcoin or the best coins to buy in 2020.

You need to know, that everyone has a very different way in the world of crypto to determine investment or trading.
For example: you believe and like to invest in coin X, not necessarily other people like coin X that you like.

The point: you alone determine for you to be successful, not other people, other people only give advice in general, visible.
The unseen: it's the effort you have, not for anyone else.
There are hundreds of questions and suggestions asked by other members here and there are thousands of answers that have been given and answered.
Example:

1. Topic: Which Crypto Should I Invest In 2020 ?
2. Topic: Top 5 cryptocurrencies to invest in 2020
3. Topic: Best altcoins for 2020?
4. Topic: What Crypto to Buy in 2020 ? 6 Best Cheap & Promising Crypto to Invest

The topics that I display above are the same topics as you ask, in 2020, for that, at least you can see, read, and draw one conclusion for you and determine the crypto you want to invest in this year, good luck.

Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency and Bitcoin very often grows in price, which makes it possible to earn on a constant basis, and Ethereum is the top altcoin that also very often grows and brings excellent income.
bitcoin is currently becoming very popular, many people use it but bitcoin is currently still very cheap, it should be when many use it and have a limited supply it can make the price very expensive, but now the price of bitcoin can be defeated by a new coin that has a name YFI.

Should start with bitcoin first, then learn and learn more later. If bitcoin falls 50%, then other altcoins will drop 60-70%. History has proven a lot like that, and consider investing the majority of your money in bitcoin.

I do accept that since you are still new in it, investing in bitcoin or etheruem will bring you some peace of mind. With those coins, you know you are doing real investment and not going to be scammed. You can get little amount of them to hodl and you can be surprised the growth you can make with time.

Investments should be think twice before engaging to it because it's a one way ticket to be a winner nor a loser. Having said that,  personal research should be always be given a priority because crypto investments is not a financial advice rather it's only for people that has full of confidence what may happen in the future endeavors. So, bitcoin has earned the majority of votes then, it's the best choice of all hence it has the most adopted crypto with lots of supports from investors and to the community as well. As always invest what you can afford to lose.

First and foremost, you must have to know your goal and so you can go for it directly.
2nd, spend more time in knowing about crypto and have to understand the market
3rd, keep on focus, and control your emotions. Don't let negative issues and mind seize you because it only leads you to the distraction of what you have a plan.
Lastly, Keep positive and be patient.

Hope it helps.

But just to be honest, ETH is the best coin for long-term or short-term investment.

Bitcoin is, of course, the most preferred but I am surprised that Tron is showing strength in the poll, it is in the third spot but I don't consider this as a parameter,  but with the growing number of DeFi in Tron and Ethereum's issue in its fee and transactions, it seems Tron is making milestone because of the situation.

Rank in this forum matters the most if you want to be a signature campaign participant. The higher the rank, the bigger the possible income is. The higher the rank, the more campaigns available for you. But it that the way you want to earn crypto? If you want to become a trader or investor, rank in this forum has nothing to do with that.
Advice? Just like the most common term "make your own research". I also ask friend to teach me things about crypto but he said it is difficult to explain. Better to make your own research. Now, I understand why he said that to me so I will just tell you the same thing.

Where to start? This forum is full of information. There are local boards that contain topics for beginners for much easier understanding. There videos in youtube for trading, for signature campaigns, etc.

From the list, I suggest you invest in bitcoin and ethereum. And if you have more money, you can try to buy trx, bch, and bnb, but that will depend on how much money you want to invest. You don't need to use all of your money to invest in cryptocurrency because you will have a problem if you don't have the skills to manage your assets. So I think you can try to buy bitcoin and ethereum because you will not feel difficult to manage the assets.

But you might need to learn more about investing in the cryptocurrency, so you know how many coins you can invest, and you can know how to manage your assets.

Guys who advise "do your own research", "gather knowledge about cryptocurrency", could you be more precise? When I started, such advice was completely useless to me, since there is nothing specific in them. For example, I always tell at least about the place where I get information, these are Telegram channels where you can communicate with the same participants or more experienced ones, cooperate with them in private groups and chats for discussions and exchange of experience. Join groups where they discuss this or that coin that interests you, and get to know the participants. Ask them and share your knowledge. This is my experience.

What you should know is that in the cryptocurrency world it is not easy to hold a token / coin that has a high selling value, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, both of which are quite valuable currencies for you to invest in, and you also have to learn about coin security. / tokens that you have, because what we know is that there are so many projects that offer fraudulent investment services that make someone fooled by the investment, not just owning it, we also have to know how to store our funds so that no hackers access your wallet, I not scare you because this is the most important thing for you to learn because this will help your tokens / coins from hackers ..

What are your purposes why you want to ventures in Cryptocurrency?

Trade?
Investment for HODL?

Just a piece of advice, if you you're going to use it for trading you can use stablecoins like USDT for contract trading.

But for spot and HODL you can choose all those top 50 altcoins from coinmarketcap.

Remember that cryptocurrency is volatile, you have to do your own research and invest what you afford to lose.

Majority of members who participated in the poll are in favor of Bitcoin for obvious reason Bitcoin has huge market dominance and the majority of altcoins depends on the price of Bitcoin, Bitcoin is the parameter if the market is in bull or bear, and I'm sure the big majority of us here has Bitcoin when they are starting out so before investing in other coins you should first invest in Bitcoin..

Your listing is good enough for you to invest with the exception of USDT. It is a stablecoin and you will not profit from it when you buy it, it just keeps your assets safe when the market crashes or you are scared of the market. Invest 60% in bitcoin and the remaining 40% in the top altcoin in this market

I find your post very funny in anyway. You addressed those high ranks here for some reasons and you love to aim high Cheesy. I don't know what is the meaning of it but.. yeah Cheesy.

You're newbie so you just put your money into Bitcoin and Ethereum first or just in Bitcoin if you don't have that much funds to use right now. As you are investing, try to learn at least the basics of Bitcoin or crypto in general and a bit of technical analysis. At least you know how to use the indicators and you know how to read charts so that you know when to buy and when to sell.

or he can try the USDT first, at least they are stable, though he can't get profit from it but at least get the grasp first of trading crypto. just to learn the ins and out of crypto trading before jumping on more volatile investments. and then, he can invest in btc or eth as you mentioned, these 2 are rock solid and their market will not disappear anytime soon. and with the upcoming eth 2.0, gaining from it is very likely. and am certain, btc is on the positive as well.

Since you are about to start investing, maybe it is better if you will start investing on trx and xrp. They are both cheap and good enough for starters especially if you are the kind of investor with small budget. They both offer a great opportunity and their development is continuous compared to other altcoins.

I think there are a lot of good investment options for investors right now, but I think it should be considered carefully as there will inevitably be many risky projects.

Maybe TRX and XRP are two options that can help you make a profit in the long term, but there's no certainty because the market is highly volatile. In addition, you can also choose to invest in some newly launched projects in this market because Defi projects are being mentioned by a lot of people.

Try to get into ripple just for good measure. Ripple is steadily catching up to ETH in regards with reliability. Just try it out, besides its highly unlikely for ripple to plundge down.

"Ripple, investing, catching ETH", well I dont know. Somehow I dont see how ripples price can change in future. Its price does not change at all. Like a stablecoin. Once Ripple was traded in 50 cents +/- few cents. Now its about 30 cents. Dont see any perspectives for good investment.

Do the research your own way. Research this market carefully if you want to profit from it. And in this market, you should only invest in the top projects in coinmarketcap. And bitcoin will be the top choice in your portfolio, as you gain experience I believe you can use it and look for new projects.

Always bitcoin is the best choice to start venturing into crypto with. It's the one that has existed the longest, has the most development behind it, is the most secure and robust. Other coins tend to be more volatile.
Be mindful that crypto is already very volatile in general, and bears a lot of risk as an asset to hold. If you can't afford such risk, then maybe you should consider something else as an investment altogether. Only put in crypto what you feel comfortable without. Because even with bitcoin as the largest market, with most of the money in crypto sunk into it, it still has had some very large swings historycally and no one can guarantee that current prices are sustainable.

I would say that only after you have understood the inner workings of crypto well, you should put money in other coins. But it's still important to keep a stake in BTC for diversification and more certainty.

Ask for advice from forum members to be used as a profitable investment reference, you have done the very right steps as a beginner. Lots of coins that you can invest in, you should do your research before you invest. Look at the coins in the top 10 market cap list, there you can find quality coins and choose coins that you think are good.

If you interested in profit, then no matter what you will buy, because you can buy any of these cryptocurrencies and invest it somewhere to get profit. So better find good project that you want to use as investment. Try to read about crypto-games, celsius network, uniswap or binance staking for example.

You have less experience about crypto projects so it's safer if you invest in Bitcoin and top 10 altcoins in the market presently, if you feel like you aren't having enough fun then I suggest putting a halt into any crypto investment plan you have and learn about crypto safety and risks management first

First off OP, you should take Bitcoin off that list in your poll. Bitcoin isn't an altcoin. It stands on its own. Going forward, just have it in mind that whatsoever advice that's made here to you shouldn't be taken as an investment advice. DYOR. Everyone here is a speculator, and many will suggest that you go the way of Bitcoin. They forget that Bitcoin also has its own dumps too and whenever it recovers, it hardly gives up to 20%. Yeah, I know some will disagree here on this. They are free to do that. But they should do their research before they do. Investment in altcoins gives unimaginable ROI if you find a good one. Can anyone beat what the FYI pairs or the DeFis have all been doing?

Should start with bitcoin first, then learn and learn more later. If bitcoin falls 50%, then other altcoins will drop 60-70%. History has proven a lot like that, and consider investing the majority of your money in bitcoin.

You have to study crypto technology and start to evaluate by yourself the projects. Start checkiing the projects in top 50, they are probably not SCAM and have anough material for do your own evaluations

Always have the zeal of wanting to learn more, I believe this is the mistake that many newbies don't want to correct, they just like jumping into anything without any proper investigations, always want to learn and you will find things very easy for you in this space, ask questions about anything you are curious about and members will give you their own answers

Please don't put use some stranger advice as a reason to invest your money. Take your time to learn instead and find out which one you believe is will be valuable in the future.

Take lesson from the recent pump & dump defi projects where people lose money due to some people are telling them to buy on Telegram.

If you want to be advised in investing then choose bitcoin because it's a long-term investment and for beginners, of course, it won't be short-term because you don't know how to trade daily, so you can try bitcoin.

Don't ever try to buy a YFI token, it could be a hype token, I don't recommend it, but I'm sure someone will advise you more on this forum and learn about it.

If you don't have knowledge yet on trading then it's better to invest or buy only top altcoins that  is able to survive wven the market been into pum and dump. ETH and BTC should be have if for long term. If you have a specific crypto project that you are using for example like Binance then you can buy BNB it will depend on what project you will plan to research to study since it's better you know where you putting your money

Question:   Which of these altcoins is the best for me to venture into for start?

It should be remembered that there are all altcoins except bitcoin. Perhaps you do not know that's why you have included bitcoin in this list.

I think bitcoin should be your first choice for investment. Of course, it will give you profit, for long-term or medium-term you should invest in it. IMO
But if you want to invest in altcoin, then ethereum is the best because it is the 2nd biggest cryptocurrency in the world..

You should visit the beginner section and learn more about crypto. IMO if you need to learn about bitcoin and ethereum. Both were promising coin and before you can try to start with these coins and it's better if you have enough knowledge about the basic things related to the how to create wallet, tokenization, POS, and many more.

Bitcoin should be on your top choice as it's native crypto that ruling the market.

Depends on what kind of investment you are rooting here, like are you for long term or short term investment? Cause your list is quite long and the best one for long term is bitcoin. If you want a medium to long I suggest ethereum, it has potential to go up as their platform also have some progress. The only thing I dont like about them is their gas fee. Vitalik must improved this or else small traders cant even used to trade anymore.

Anyway, thats the only advise I can. But if your a high risk taker, then try polkadot.

Forget the ranks and concentrate on your knowledge about Cryptocurrency that will bring you the most, about your poll I consider Bitcoin as the must coin to invest first if you are starting in your journey in Cryptocurrency, not only because it's because the first Cryptocurrency but also because of it's dominance in the market, and you will never have issues with liquidity.

For a start i would advise that you do your own research and have a go at tron network token trx, i have a feeling the token will do well in th coming years, with the blockchain still developing and gaining grounds and strenght with defi projects on its platform, it is becoming a reliable platform. You need to study the candle stick and trade patterns to find a convenient and purchase entries to invest in tron.
