Compared to traditional forms such as bank transfers, using Bitcoin can minimize transaction costs, especially when transferring money between different countries. The message here is that smallscale individual cases see limited financial problems and have solutions through the use of bitcoin. Not only OP, but I think we would all be very happy if our work was paid in BTC, as BTC becomes more and more popular, people see many benefits through using it. We still have to look backwards because this is a personal issue, so we need more time for people to become familiar with the technology and use BTC.

because I have felt for myself the benefits of getting a salary with bitcoin (currently I can say I am enjoying it, getting a salary from signature with bitcoin) if I had a boss, then I would not hesitate to tell my boss to pay my salary with bitcoin. my reason is simple, I see bitcoin as a currency and also the best investment asset right now, I can use part of the bitcoin I get to live and then the rest I will use as an investment.
For cross border transactions bitcoin used to be a source through which things can be more effective than making transactions in the form of fiat. OP is positive about bitcoin and he had requested for the salary in terms of bitcoin. When received in bitcoin it ease the choice of investment, because we can just sell what is required for our daily life and keep the remaining in terms of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies as investment.

Long back itself this had been getting practiced in some part of the world. Many companies have begun to pay in terms of bitcoin, depending on the request from the employees. Maybe we can expect this get spread in the leading corporates of the world.

I live in an underdeveloped country, but I work remotely for a fairly good web development agency. We don't have a lot of financial services/wallets here, so we had to go circumvent a lot of obstacles for me the money to get to my local bank account. This whole process took a hefty fee, and time. And the worst part is the currency is absolutely shit and deteriorating (even compared to other fiat currencies),

Recently, I convinced them to start paying me in BTC. I save what I have to save, and convert the rest to fiat via P2P trading. Its so quicker and I get great deals, no more bullshit. I think this has been a great benefit of crypto for underdeveloped nations.

I have been accumulating bitcoin from a long time from my freelance work, but getting paid in it by my regular work feels awesome!

Since you are working remotely and on the freelancing job, it makes it easier not only for you but for your employer as well, to give you payment in bitcoins. It would save him a lot of additional cost if he uses the bank transfer or other third party services like Western Union etc.

However, if you were doing a physical job in an office or in a multi national company, it would be impossible if the employer may accpet your desire to pay you in BTC. It is because usually the employer has similair methods of paying salary to the whole company employees, and they do not change it for only one employee.

Honestly, I bet if your employer is not a Bitcoiner there would be an impossibilities of being convinced to pay you on Bitcoin when they have zero ideas and considering the required processes of creating and protecting a wallet for security fairness.
I bet such risk can not be undertaken all just because of you alone when there have been functionable means to pay you.
There is not just prove to accompany your expression so I would just say it is a visionary instincts and a hope to enhance your earning through Bitcoin investments if you can get paid through Bitcoin but it would be easier if your employer is a bitcoiner then you don't need to get him convinced but ask him to pay you by Bitcoin.

That's a very nice initiative and I think this was only possible because thr firm you work for are use to talk the whole Bitcoin concept if not it would have been difficult to really convince your boss to actually pay you in crypto instead of the regular fiat but all the same it's a good achievement for you and also your boss because he will be familiar more with crypto since the payment is all through Bitcoin. In a country where Bitcoin is frawn upon with a negative view it will be hard to achieve this.
You can surely say that again. It would've been hard to achieve such an agreement if OP's boss is someone who is very traditional or closed off to the idea of cryptocurrency. To people like those having such change or a foreign system is a risk that is too much for them to take just for a single employee and honestly, they'll see it as additional work that requires time and effort that they would definitely not want to give. Additionally, you're right regarding the point of legalization of Bitcoin and the society's view or opinion regarding it playing a big role for others to make a decision like this as no business wants to be in the bad light in the eyes of the law and the general people.

Fast money exchange is important when trading, but it makes sense to pay for online work or remote support, consulting, software and similar work with Bitcoin. The important point here is that if you have a physical shop or trading house and you turn the money in trade on a daily basis, receiving payments with bitcoin can waste your time.

For example i have a wholesale food business and when i give wholesale food materials to stores, we have to receive the payment in cash because there are suppliers who are due and i need to pay instantly, and in this case i cannot trade with the p2p method, i have to use the bank system. Here is the important part, that is, fast cash conversion. When Bitcoin achieves this, it will be completely a means of payment for me. But for me right now, Bitcoin is nothing more than a store of value and a tool for investing.

You are right, getting paid in bitcoin always feels great to be honest, at least, I've been getting paid in bitcoin for a while now, so i sure know or have an idea of how good it feels, so far, fiat currencies have not been performing well, and on top of that, it is the worst currency for cross boarder transactions, as it not only comes with a hefty fees, but the transaction is always so slow that sometimes, it could take more than two weeks before the other party gets hold of money sent to him or her.

So bitcoin has not only brought about investment opportunities, job opportunities, but also have made cross border transactions far more easier and cost effective for freelancers and those working for foreign companies online and so on.

Thats a good idea to convince your employer to pay directly with btc! But most employers wouldn't do it if they are asked for it, so you are really lucky! In total, employers and/or businessmen accepting crypto for payments and salaries are making a small yet inportant step in adoption process. I think that soon there will be more people making transactions directly with crypto...

This is great, really. It is exciting to know that there is a shift towards crypto payments in your employment. I was thinking the same thing for the companies here in our country, if cryptocurrency is iniatially introduced within workplace, news through word of mouth will make more people curious about it. And fear of actually learning crypto would lessen. It might take some time, but the trend is definitely moving in that direction. Companies just have to ensure that employees have the necessary knowledge and support to navigate in this crypto world.

Nice, good thinking.
About 3,5 years ago when covid started I had to do the same. I had no other way to get my money because my bank card from the country of residence ran out and they only send you a new one to your registered address, and only while your visa is still valid. And, I was in a foreigne country at that time.

So I was in a shitty situation and asked my boss to use bitcoin instead and after some hesitation, because he also wanted to learn something about it, he was able to.
Because of this and the weak btc at the time it was very convenient for me because I sometimes increased my salary because of that.
Bitcoin leterally saved my ass in that situation.

With the way everything seems to appear with the current economical business challenges, except a business owner adopt bitcoin, he may ever be unwilling to make payment in bitcoin since it's not something himself had subscribed to, but when he's a bitcoiner and understand the advantage and benefits of making payments in bitcoin using the lightning network, he will either adopt making payments in bitcoin by himself or if he was advised to do so, then he will not hesitate to implement such for his workers.

It cannot be denied, transacting via Bitcoin across borders is very easy, efficient, cheap and hassle-free when compared to PayPal or other payers via most digital wallets

I don't have a stable job yet and only hope for the little money I get online, reading your topic really inspired me in the future if I get a stable job then I will ask my boss to pay me in bitcoin

Pretty cool, so these have no actual KYC process in any capacity, even for P2P trading? Or is it just a veneer?
According to what I know from my experience, Bisq is the only platform that works in a peer-to-peer format without imposing KYC procedures. User opinions about it have been good since its launch, and it has been solidly developed so as not to be vulnerable to hacking or manipulation.
One of the most important things about Bisq platform for me is that it enjoys great trust among users on Bitcointalk who support it on the principle of preserving privacy as much as possible. Personally, I continue to advise everyone to use it, but unfortunately the Binance platform is more popular compared to all peer-to-peer platforms.

OP you acted smart and it is good you had to proffer that idea to be on the safe side and to save them cost of transaction charges and time delay before your payment gets into your local account. From the looks, I am meant to understand that your local currency is very poor which makes it more suspicious to look into by your bank based on the conversion ratio. The fiat system of banking is based on trust as a user have  posted based on that, the bank would like to know and have clues on your source of fund so as to be sure of the origination.

Your idea of telling your employer to pay you in bitcoin was a good and smart move because you have succeeded in making them aware of bitcoin and they have adopted it because in the long run after they must have seen the benefit of using bitcoin for transaction, they would have every reason to thank you for introducing them to bitcoin.

You also saved yourself the stress of going through protocols for scrutiny before receiving  your money as i believe it  would be in a huge volume in your currency which would attract attention as it is in GBP as stated by you. This method of payment would reduce the delay for you to receiving your payment compared with the fiat system.

You claim that your country is an underdeveloped country so we can assume that bitcoin is not legal in your country, if bitcoin is not legal then it will be safe for you to pay salary through bitcoin. Just saying from my opinion about bitcoin legality because as you mentioned your country is underdeveloped and as far as I know underdeveloped countries never accept Bitcoin. It is a very good decision if you proceed with caution. Accepting payments through Bitcoin instead of accepting payments in local currency is another level of thinking. If you accept payment through Bitcoin, you can hold that Bitcoin for a long time if you want, and if you want, you can sell your BTC through P2P.  Undoubtedly, you have taken a commendable initiative.
If Bitcoin is not legal in the country that doesn't mean he should not accept Bitcoin as a payment from someone else, this transaction happens between two people and you don't need to pick up a speaker and microphone to start telling the world that you accept Bitcoin as means of payment, the problem with the government about Bitcoin can only start if you set up a banner or a signboard with Bitcoin acceptance on it, this will draw attention and it could result in paying fine or even worse depending on the country's law.

Bitcoin was once illegal in my country too and I know that I can only get into a problem with the law if I make my interaction with Bitcoin public, so this person should be fine if they choose to maintain silence and avoid attention.

The only thing that feels off with the OP story is how OP can ask his employer to pay him in Bitcoin because there is no story about how the employer gets the Bitcoin to pay him, how did he know that the employer knows how to buy Bitcoin? Because many people don't even know this.

I am the only that gets paid in bitcoin, but everybody else gets paid in different way rather than a ubiquitous payment method for every employee. They have a lot of employees from underdeveloped nations, so you have to be open to options.
It's a great option if you accept payments in bitcoin.
You already have bitcoin as a long-term investment and you can also sell bitcoin for fiat so you can buy daily necessities.
If other workers can see what you are doing and think that bitcoin is a good investment, someone may follow you and accept payment in the form of bitcoin.
But this should not be forced because it is the choice of each worker.
Well, at least you already have bitcoin from your job and can meet your living needs.

I have been accumulating bitcoin from a long time from my freelance work, but getting paid in it by my regular work feels awesome!

It's so easy now to send and receive salaries using bitcoin. No need to queue for long to withdraw money if you use bitcoin. That's where the convenience is. Another advantage of receiving a salary in bitcoin is that it can be saved for a long period of time with measurable financial management partly to be exchanged for fiat and partly for investment.
There is only one obstacle, not all countries accept salary payments in bitcoin which is legally permitted like accepting fiat currency.

Workers who live in underdeveloped countries who find it difficult to get internet will experience difficulties. But that is not possible because the company where I work is usually located in a city where internet access is available, so I will ignore the issue of difficulty in internet access.
If I experienced the same situation as you in paying salaries, it would be a pleasant thing.

Good job in convincing the employer.

For the company to go with your preferred choice of payment, they too must be making a saving but for book keeping purposes I don't think this helps them much unless the invoice goes under as a crypto payment...

Does he pay you with black money? I find it hard to believe that a bank would have problems with you receiving income from a job, as long as it is legal and declared.
Considering Op mentioned having fewer financial services in his locality.. this could mean interbank transactions and a  possibility of delays to get this processed  hence going the Bitcoin way....

Yes, this is the right problem solution for you. Submitting a payment request using Bitcoin is currently highly recommended, especially for people who have difficulty sending/receiving money like you. Because bitcoin does have relatively cheap shipping costs, and the delivery speed is also quite fast. So your payment when you get paid will definitely be more optimal and there won't be many deductions.
Apart from that, your boss will definitely be more helped by sending using bitcoin.
So it's not just you who enjoys it, but the point is that by using Bitcoin both parties (you and your boss) will be greatly helped. Apart from all that, you also work in the field of website development. So I think it would be very synchronous if paid using bitcoin.

But I have a question, are you the only one who accepts payments via bitcoin, or are all employees also paid with bitcoin? Because usually there are always pros and cons related to this. So, the opinion you convey to your boss/boss regarding Bitcoin, does this only apply to you or to all employees too? Because if all employees are paid in bitcoin too, it means you have succeeded in convincing everyone who works at the website development agency. And that is a very good move.

I am the only that gets paid in bitcoin, but everybody else gets paid in different way rather than a ubiquitous payment method for every employee. They have a lot of employees from underdeveloped nations, so you have to be open to options.
