It actually does. If Japan or other countries do not have a large budget for their military they cannot compete with other nations. Although they may become militarized they have no point if they cannot withstand the US and other countries militaries.

I don't work for anyone

I just did a research project on the militerization of space. It's scary the strength the US although it is a sense of saftey since I live in the US. All I'm saying is that money has a part in everything.

Japan has no reliable ally. So there is a necessity to get armed. For example, if China decides to attack Japan, none of the allies (including the US) will come for help.

I doubt its going to make much difference if all those weapons get mobilised, countries will start a war, and the loosing side will activate nuclear weapons eliminating all sides.
However u turn this around , its pretty clear that weapons in great quantities have no point, its much better to invest in new technologies, instead in destruction of what we allready have.
World does not need militarized Japan, or any other country, the world needs de-militarization..
