The word error and Kialara don't belong in the same sentence.  I'd fix the bar myself if I owned it.  Tempted to just buy it in this auction and give it back to Max.

Just curious...what is the error on this coin MJ? Is it that no number is on it?

I cannot see anything else out of the ordinary. Of course it is not in the slab as the others. Is that the exception here?

Thanks again for posting the photo bro!

Correct, the error coins are not numbered.
Here is side by side comparison of the 2 coins... regular and error

I hate to admit it.. but I sat for 5 mins looking at the bar and the coin trying to work out the difference.. I just could not see any fucking thing wrong with the error coin... I thought max had gone mental...

I really should read his blog properly..

anyway - OP... when auction??

Max gave error coins out as a gift to those who waited the longest for their bars.

The Stone the masons rejected was the cornerstone.
Aha!  Now I see what your talking about

The perimeter circle and wording is missing! That is definitely an error.

How many were issued like that? Is that unique like the OPs error?

Thanks!

An auction will determine the true market value of this unique error.

Looking forward to it if it is in the works.

The seller wanted me to UP my offer otherwise he was sending it to auction he also said it came with an error coin as well. Looking forward to the auction.. I'll be a bidder for sure

yes the set does have a error coin with it

Is this the only known true error bar from kialara?  Interesting since there are a decent number of kialaras built now.  Will be watching from afar on this.

I don't know if this (http://kialara.com/signature-series-w-incorrect-packaging/) is classified as a "true error" but I consider it an error bar since I don't know which number I have.  Wink

digi, what is the # on the sleeve?

edit: and I don't consider these errors since they simply shipped in the wrong sleeve - meaning anyone could swap the sleeves of their bars and call them an error. The actual serial of each bar is the one signed to the back of the print behind the silver round.  Smiley

No problem, I agree it isn't a manufacturing error although my number was specifically referenced in your blog post regarding the sleeve numbering mishap.

Sent an email a while back and made a post showing the #152 sleeve - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21007176Smiley

There is a Labyrinth out there with 6 balls instead of 5. I think the ceramic version.

I guess the owner of the extra ball kialara contacted you, worth noting in future updates of the encyclopedia any known one offs or errors.  Could be a nice addition to the book

I'm still in shock that Max actually assembled that. He must have been tired af or something! Tongue
To be honest, I would not be surprised if Max buys this bar, just so that he can destroy it.

I would/could not blame him, and actually I hope he does. It's just not right. Tongue

I would offer to fix this and cover all shipping charges, but I wouldn't feel right doing that considering you have been offered a premium price for the bar. I guess this is meant to be. Smiley

We don't know if there is more than one of these. If this is a true one of a kind error coin I would not be in a hurry to sell for the first offer.

I believe there is only the one.

I also text a photo of the batch this came from to Minerjones, who was collecting these to ship on others behalf. I noticed the mistake as highlighted here: https://i.imgur.com/iPPDSpf.jpg

I have a process in place with the keys, where I triple-check that the public and private keys are matched and printed correctly, and that they match their respective serial number. With all of my attention on this critical detail, I believe I overlooked that the coin was placed inside the housing incorrectly. After drilling, I also passed these off to an assistant to clean and polish... had I been the one to clean them I surely would have noticed this. When it was handed back to me, I checked for a fourth time that the serial matched my printed list of public keys before packing, so like I was saying, my attention was focused on the key and the serial.

The Stone the masons rejected was the cornerstone.
Now if only that same error was placed upside down...hmm..you would then have an inverted center error!
