Its a gamble, if you get in early enough, you may get paid

From what I understand (as I have not been paying attention back then), people have requested this section in the past and thus it was added. It was probably because the threads were flooding some other section and this is exactly what would happen if it was removed. The first step would be to ban Investor-Based games altogether. That way, no other section would be cluttered up with these threads.

They should just delete this trash category, just a playground for scammers.
That's essentially what it is. A playground for scammers and signature spammers.
I agree with you, is just that the problem with this statement is that usually investor-based games posts are usually not counted. Even if they are, depending on the post, they'd most likely get a negative trust and every known sig campaign don't allow negative trusted users.

Oh how people forget... Prior to that section all of those posts were flooding the main gambling section. The admins do not moderate scams, so those types of posts won't be deleted. Having them all in their own section is better than having them show up elsewhere.

Do you think that by deleting Investor Based Games SubBoard suddenly there won't be any HYIP or Ponzi or other scammy schemes on bitcointalk?
Do you really want that?
If you had read the previous posts (which you didn't), you would have seen that I've already covered that:

The first step would be to ban Investor-Based games altogether. That way, no other section would be cluttered up with these threads.

Exactly and then more work for mods to ban users, clean up all of those unwanted topics, just leave them and let them have there little section, anyways most of them get red trust instantly
Again, ignoring problems is not the right answer.

Because if you do it is just totally wrong and flawed logic you are representing. For now all useless and suspicious activities are contained inside that subboard - deletion only make it spread on other sections.

Investor-Based Games are as a knife: you could use a knife for eat o you coul use it for kill. Is important that people know the risk of this kind of games.
Following your analogy: Exactly how many people have to cut themselves before we disallow knives (if ever)?

Well one thing that could be done would be to remove posting there from the activity count. That was posters would stay as newbies unless they contributed to the real Bitcoin boards.
There was a thread about something of that type created by Theymos, but I don't think it has been 'activated' yet.

It's a shitfest, that board.
It is practically useless. The only time that I go there is when I'm handling some report.

It's a shitfest, that board. I think it was a mistake adding it, or more probably that the rules need to be clearer/fixed. No ponzis, only actual investments. Not games per se, but things like:

- Investing in companies that have to be verified or are recognized IRL
- Investing in people/gamblers (?)
- Investing proxies

It was requested as a containment board and it serves its purpose as a containment board well. Say what you want about such schemes being unethical, but bitcoin's nature attracts them. This forum would either have to ban discussion of such schemes all together (which would be very illiberal) or contain them in a special section. If you don't like it, you can just ignore the subforum and forget about it. There's people who want to participate there, why take that away from them? Besides, now with ethereum you can create ever-running, trustless and decentralized ponzi schemes.  Roll Eyes

Then, the moderators will start banning people based on biased opinions.
Not necessarily, but that is indeed a possibility and thus scams are not moderated.

You should have just ignore the Investor-based games section, IMO.
Ignoring the problem does not make it go away (applies also to signature spammers).

I don't bite.
They make the rule too, if scammers are going do that, just delete their and banned their accounts.

I don't ever go in there, I'm not sure it should be deleted but if you don't like it OP just don't go in there.

Waiting for retard or scammers to say, 'HYIPs' will always live, regardless of - whether you like it or not. On the Internet, many forums devoted to this area - examples: MMG, DTM, TalkGold, Mmgp, Buzines) + over 300 forums blah blah blah bs.
Ya cause in those forums they are also full of scammers and shill, all the low pc or bought accounts posting shts.

Someone said before, if this investor board deleted, scammers will spam and bull their shit at other current board.
Let's be honest though, something has to get going to change thing.
They make the rule too, if scammers are going do that, just delete their and banned their accounts.
Pretty sure many eyes watching and will do the report.
