...The Shadow knows.
Instead of Doxxing her....why not simply contact her "boss" and give them this link: http://www.rcfp.org/browse-media-law-resources/digital-journalists-legal-guide/publishing-highly-personal-and-embarrassi

...

Why dox, when you can get them fired for unprofessional and illegal activities Wink

Do you think they don't know these standards? How naive.

They did it out of pure greed. They've invaded the privacy of an individual which clearly wanted to be left alone. They've deliberately divulged most private details (health status among others) of the person like being proud of the harassment they cause.

>>> Leah McGrath Horseface Goodman and all other people involved in this harassment clearly deserve a full dox, so they may learn from experience.

ya.ya.yo!

Oh I know the of the greed of Man, and the depths he will go to satisfy it.
....but rarely is Man stupid enough to try it when the passage is laden with obvious traps and corpse. And a weapon to his temple.

[This should be obvious...but this is a metaphor. If you have to sink to physical violence you either have no other option for escape or are a fool]

Now obviously, the whole traps and weapon is analogous to the very real potential of having your personal life destroyed. And the corpses are those who were 'Doxxed' before you for pulling equally stupid stunts in an attempt to "get ahead".

Why, some may ask, is this 'Street Justice' necessary?
....because these "reporters" (aka paparazzi) will never learn; no matter how many fines are levied against them.

Don't dox her.  It will just make the bitcoin community look bad , more than anything.

You would do more to help just by trying to ignore the news story (as opposed to talking to everyone you know about it, thus generating her and the story more exposure. )

I also think she went way too far on the personal details without a lot of proof, but I don't think an eye-for-an-eye is appropriate in this case.

This is the best advice. If everyone ignores it, the news will be gone by the weekend. If you attack her, that will create another news story.

...The Shadow knows.
What comes around goes around. Nothing we do or say here will protect her from a doxxing. Almost feel sorry for her...

Nothing but harm will come of this. Such a shame.

Frankly, it's not a shame.

She could have easily avoided this by conducting a professional interview, where "my people will call your people" and setup an interview. And you will have full control over what is released.

But no, she went paparazzi and tracked down a man she "thinks" is Him. The only reason these people get away with it for Celebs is because most of this information is already public knowledge, and the person is well-known.

In this case, a person's life has been ruined.

...all for page views.

Well, I say, fine...if you want page views, we will give you page views. [We will] let the world know who you are; I'm sure they just want to say Hi.
....just as you did this person of little notoriety ("he's" notoriety is in the name; not in the face...or was). We should do the same for you

*obviously 'you' is referring to the reporter and not you V4V

Her boss and the legal team at Newsweek definitely approved of this article before it was released. They aren't going to fire her for shit.

They will if the Corporate HQ for the US is in a state with such laws. Either that or they risk a lawsuit...and yes, I pretty sure he won't, but if their legal team says they're at risk. They'll want to minimize that as much as possible.

EDIT:

I doubt people will listen to this...but.

Please do not Dox her in the sense of releasing all the information you can find.

Release only the information type she released of this man.
--This means you release photos of the house she lives at, license plate (think that was there). You essentially are mirroring exactly what she posted...only with her name.
...I would not be surprised if she turned around and cried foul Wink

seems she is a freelance reporter. well i presume as she has been writing stories for dozens of news media in the last couple years and has enough spare time to write a few novels.

i do like how she was banned from visiting the british island of jersey do to trying to interview people about child abuse and then tax havens.

seems that no one wants her around for long

I like this part of that link:

Quote
As a brief recap, you may be liable for invasion of privacy by publication of private facts if you publish information that is:
    • so personal and intimate that its disclosure would offend a reasonable person, even if the information is wholly true;

    • not generally known to the public;

    • not newsworthy; and

    • widely communicated, keeping in mind that publication through e-mail could qualify as such.
[/list] (<-why is it insisting putting this orphan closing tag here...)

Obviously, the bolded would directly apply to this person even if this man turns out to not be The Man
