-v (or --vectors) still turns on vector math, but you can now also use --verbose for verbose logging.

Careful with that. I've heard other people on the forums having trouble getting two cards to work for mining under Windows. You'll still be able to use both for gaming, but you may have to use only one for mining.

Hmmm ok.  I will check it out before I buy.  Thanks man Smiley

Downloading now. Is the key in your PM still good?

EDIT: It's not.

Thank you Quip!  I am rock'en it man with this 5870 and core I7 overclocked.  In a few weeks we are going for a 2nd HD 5870 for the crossfire action Smiley

poclbm.exe -v -w 128 -f 30 --host=mining.bitcoin.cz --port=8332 --user=myusername --pass=mypassword

Oops, I messed up. That should read "--host=127.0.0.1".

Perhaps you can share your screen via Skype and I can try to figure out what you're doing wrong.

Yes, we caught that. Wink

Got Team Viewer?  Its free and easy

Restart and try again. When you've restarted, right click on the tray icon for bitcoin and click exit. Then run bitcoin from the shortcut that you added -server to. Should work then.

You can solo mine - just change the http://mining.bitcoin.cz to , and then the username/pass to the username and pass in bitcoin.conf

Then run it and it should connect.

Yes but now we are back to I cant open or run the miner.  When I click on the miner.bat file it opens a DOS box and closes it right away.

important distinction: If you want to mine in Slush's pool, you don't need bitcoin running at all.
If you want to mine solo, you should have the miner.bat pointing at your own computer (the line I posted above)

Advantage of pooled mining: steady income of small amounts
Advantage of solo mining: you get to keep the whole 50 bitcoins, but it may take some time to get them.

Can I run the miner without logging into mining.bitcoin.cz?

Heh, yes that is most likely it. Make an account, and it will tell you how to do things from there.

Wish I could.  Registrations is CLOSED !!

No - in the miner.bat file, it should read as what myrkul posted to correctly login.

Ok this might be a problem.  I have never logged into the mining.bitcoin.cz site.

Ok, assuming you have bitcoin running with the -server switch on, the line in miner.bat should be:

poclbm.exe -v -w 128 -f 30 --host=127.0.0.1 --port=8332 --user=myusername --pass=mypassword

myusername and mypassword are the information you put into bitcoin.conf
