Your secret is only applicable in real toss coin games, because a coins has different shapes on the head and tail but if it is in online then it should be 50/50 chances of win/loss.

Players can create a transaction, choose not to broadcast it, check if it wins or not, repeat the process and broadcast only the winning transactions to the network.
I would not try that, and I would not suggest anyone to try that though, as the site looks very shady.

He definitely is or he's getting paid to do so, no one's going to make it their full time job to promote another site just because they found a working strategy, fact of the matter is there isn't any strategy when it comes to gambling, you just take your chances and hope to get lucky. It would have been better if he had actually promoted and vouched for this as the owner, which he refused to and to me that looks shady.
