How and when do you guys decide whether to invest or not on an ICO? Do you have a checklist that you follow?
I dont invest in ICOs when it is not a real potential project. You know, I have a team that analyzes ICO projects and they will produce results and score it. Often they will evaluate the technology and ideas of the ICO project the most. The only thing to make your investments profitable is read more.

If you want to invest in ICO, take note of these few things;

1. Who you are investing into - this has to do with the team in which you really want to be doing proper investigation on their profile authenticity, the experiences they have had in the past and what they have currently on the table.

2. What you are investing into - This is the product and really as a smart investor, you do not want to be investing into empty promises, because that is what you may ever get in the long run. So you really want to be sure the MVP is intact and it would bring about real life usage in the long run which is what would increase the demand for it.

3. After all these, you can then decide to check the team's vision, their plans for the future, and the whitepaper for further explanantions about the project.

always make a research don't fall real fast in any testimonials of the project. Because that is the common technique nowadays of some  scammer to convince more investors. So make a drastic analyze to avoid ponzi  and don't ever rely on other thoughts as well which is make your own research to assured what are certain and uncertain projects.

First of all you need to remember that ICO investments were more risky,so you have to invest only the money which is affordable for you to lose then you need to pick the good potential ICOs and then split up your investment capital, never invest all money in one and also check the project team if that were fake profiles then you can avoid the scam.

Have you ever heard 99% ICO will fail?
ICO investments are extremely risky, it requires an experience and a deep research and analysis about the project. A lot of people said 99% ICO is damned to fail, but it does not mean ICO isn't a right way to make an investment.  nevertheless, I believe there is a better way to make an investment, the one who has a lower risk rather than ICO which is currently, is clogging up by scam project.

My tip: Do not invest in ICOs. ICOs are not as much profitable these days compared to last year. If I were interested in a certain ICO(though extremely unlikely), I'd probably buy it after the distribution instead, as prices are sometimes lower after the coins/tokens are accepted on exchanges.

I agree with mjglqw and now ICO projects rarely use escrow and maybe now almost none.
Escrow aims to avoid investor funds being taken away if fraud occurs
for now, price of dumps after entering exchange, and it is difficult to rise, is because bitcoin prices tend to decline, thus affecting the price of ico tokens. it is true, buy a few moments after listing, and you will get best price
ICO’S now a days is quite in bad shape but  there are ICO’s even against all odds will  definitely surface because of it's integrity and the functioning products and services are really profitable and truly manage by the team of experts that  what's makes more valuable.

Here is some tips for you if you want to invest in ICO.If you are totally newbie in ICO and don't have enough time to make own research then please Don't invest in ICO.Because have possibility to jump in a scam ICO. Before investing ICO read there whitepaper, find the team and check out that they are real or fake. And find product. If the product is real and team member, roadmap is ok then we can tell the ico is good.Though we can not give you 100% right info because most of ico is failed and scamming people.

This is a very good time to invest in ICO's. All you need to remember is to check basics everybody already mentioned. One thing I may add is to remember to invest in ICO's that are bringing something new to the table. Copies of Copies are bound to not be successful in bear market.

I am seeing everyone saying do not invest in ICO at this time, for the fact that ICO's aren't doing fine this period doesn't mean that it is general, it will take a very good ICO to survive this market and the may change the perspective of ICO's again, Just two or thru hugely successful ICO's will make people troop in again, ICO's were not popular until Electroneum made over 10x, any other ICO that may earn this will help increase the faith of people in ICO's again

I always see ico, every time it pops up, I am selective to see the details of ico. where ico is seen from the composition of the team, concept, roadmap and whitepapper. if it feels like it gives profit I think it can be used as the best choice right now for ico. because we know if before making an investment in ico we have to be selective and careful and researching ico that appears.

If you want to invest in ICO projects then you should choose the right time to invest because this year is a disappointing year for the entire market and investing in ICO projects is absolutely wrong because of the demand very low investment. Personally I always choose time to invest because if it is a good project then it will definitely choose the right time to develop

First check carefully their white paper. make sure you understand all that information.
Now check team profile and advisor profile.
If you really want invest into ICO. you need to know price will fall down soon after ICO because people dump their bonus and bounty hunter dump their token.

First of do a deep research about the team, project, usefulness and the compliance with ruled and regulations as most of ICOs are either scams or just fancy whitepaper ICOs.
Usually, early investors get a considerable discount for the ICO when compared to later phase of an ICO. I think it is the best chance to invest in an ICO.
Once the token get listed in exchanges, sell around half of tokens at a good price become break even. This means you are risk free now. Then you can decide at what price and when you sell the remaining tokens to make profits.
Please note that this is not an investment advice it's just my own opinion. Smiley

Due diligent before investing into any of the crypto currency related business has now become more important since many ICO have fall short of investors confidence. Instead of one to invest his or her during ICO I will recommend one to invest after the project get listed on the exchange because as its value cheaper as compared with during initial coins offering.
