Absolutely not. It's just a gamble. None have no utility value whatsoever.
Even with the investments with the existing cryptocurrency is a gamble if you are not careful enough you may lose your whole capital without a proper entering and research you may be ended up on a bear market after the investments on the peak or got scammed, I disagree with your statement about the tokens having no value, there would be a scam or worthless tokens but there are also legit projects good for a long-term holding.

ICO appears and disappears. Some of they are sucsessful some of they are scam. All depends on your ability to see a really worthful projects. Before perticipating in any ICO I often deeply research the project. My advice is to pay attention whether the projects has a ready-made product as it is some kind of guarentee that it is not a scam as well as  long termed activity before ICO. It is an indicator that team goes stright to thir goal and will not give up.

ICO is gaining momentum The CEO of the Binance Exchange has written on the company's blog that ICO is working much better than venture capital funds, even with a high risk of failure, noting that "ICO is not just good, but necessary."

I could clearly say that its kind of real risk taking even i dint involve with any ICO but being the part of  bitcointalk campaign like bounty , signature lots of project turn out to be non profitable . In that 1 or 2 complete scam .

the risk is enormous if we invest in ICO coins, some people benefit greatly from ICO coins, and there are also some who have lost, and now we must be more careful and cautious to invest in new coins of ICO, and many ICO projects are Scam, maybe for example we follow the bountynya no loss, and even then we are very disappointed, let alone the investors, of course, so they will lose some of their assets.

Yes, joining in ICO's are worth it, because it can pay you a tokens to sell when you join to their ICO and work for it, so that's why they are worth it, but sometimes you need to check project first before you join, because sometimes it's a scam.

There are lot of ICOs going on right now simultaneously. So you have to very careful about choosing the ICO that you are going to invest. Among these ICOs some SCAMs are roaming out there and gaining lot of money by scamming people.

ICOs will collapse at some point in time and it will devastate crypto when it does. While I have made some nice profit especially on coins like Iconomi which pumped to near 0.002BTC per token, ICOs are being utilized on even the shittiest coins and there are already scam ICOs being created. Only gamble what you can afford to lose.

Can anyone inform me a little on the ICO market ? Basically it's an investment that can bring profit or not bring anything, this part is clear.
I would like to know if there are any trusted ICO's out there and not just the regular runners with the investments.
Has anyone here had any substantial succes with any ICO ? Like you invested in some ICO when the shares were costing close to nothing and now to be worth a lot ?

I join the RISE ICO last year we thought that it is all scam because it fall apart it didn't succeed on the 1st part after the ICO ended but now price became higher. All ICO has roadmaps you must choose the best ICO you think that will succeed on the future and HODL it for 2 to 3 years until the price goes up. Remember Patience is the best for the coin to grow and it will became you millionaire in time. Hope that it helps

I'm also looking for an ICO to invest in right now, many of them look good but I wonder what are the main criteria I should follow when considering an ICO.

It is a gamble, even if a project looks solid there is no way to tell if it will succeed or not.  It seems that the majority of projects / altcoins being released now need to raise funds via an ICO.

This was not always the case, I am not a fan of ICOs now because they are too common place and a lot of the time they simply are not needed, greed plays a factor in this.

If you look around you will find sites like https://www.ico-list.com that will list all the live ICOs and from there you can do your own research.

BTC is a great investment, but every investor needs to diversify his risks - so you need to invest in different assets.
For example, your portfolio looks like this:
 - 50% BTC, Etherium
 - 30% Crypto funds (Satoshi fund, TaaS fund, Token fund etc)
 - 20% ICO and any other alternatives

On alternatives you can make 5000% per month, but it is too risky.

wow, i think BTC is 80%

I believe the new Facebook in the Crypto World has not yet emerged. When it will it will most likely can in the form of an ICO. Since I don't know which is the best, I believe spreading things over to different coins increases my chances of hitting the jackpot.

Always I analyse and read to see which ICO's to avoid.

Thats a ridiculous statement, there are so many different types of ICOs you can't just put them all in the same basket. Some ICOs are even based on real world investments rather than crypto based ones.

ETH was basically an ICO, well not exactly but a crowdsale at first. Look at where it is now.

I bought an ICO on ICONOMI last November for only $30 and I think the value right now in terms of percentage is already 600% or my share of token is now 6 times in value. I am not saying the same thing can happen with all the ICOs around but is it safe to say that many of them can be very profitable.

Buying coins/token at the ICO stage means you are buying them at their lowest rate plus you can also receive some bonuses and if you are also hardworking you can likewise participate in their bounty program giving you more coins.

However, you have to do your own research because not all ICOs can succeed and there are some who abandoned their project leaving "investors' holding empty bags. I am not expert on this but there are already many sites who can recommend good ICO projects.
