I do agree Ico is the best way to invest before that you should investigate about team after participating some Ico I found some strategy that atleast wait until some days and check the investment address for transaction there is lots of ico turn out to be a scam after some days.

I think it is the best time to buy potential coins during ICO, because during ICO some offers incentives where you can buy more coins or buy coins at lesser price.
