Most ICO projects are good markets for whales to pump or dump and after that altcoin may become garbage and not attract investors. I think there are many good ICO projects now and you should consider carefully before investing

Well you said it there already, "good markets for whales to pump and dump".  Not really good for the long term or serious investing, unless you find the right project.

Not all of them are scam, but unfortunately, it brings negative connotation to those legit and trusted ICO and its really sad. And those fake ICO' ruin not just their reputation but the whole crypto's as well. That's why sometimes a good project has really having a hard time to get investors, on the other hand, investors are attracted to scam ICO because they thought they hit the jackpot but eventually they will run your funds. So before investing try to investigate and used your common sense before its too late.

With this argument i somewhat agree and disagree, i agree because many of the ICOs are scams and Ive experienced it once but whoever the person who researched about ICOs and tell that it is the biggest scam i disagree to that because if you see and explore the world of bitcoin you will determine the biggest scam, there are many scams in this industry because there are many money here there is a lot of money involved here, and some people tend not to invest cerating an ICO but rather fooling the not knowledgeable minds and controlling them to fulfill their scams

It's very biased to say that all ICO's are scams. It comes off as bitter, and resentful, most likely due to ignorance,  or a suffered lose of investment. There are many scams within this sector, as to be expected, but there are also many legit companies who are trying to find good grounding as a startup company. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day's time, and the same could be said of any startup without a solid foundation.
It's best to practice due diligence,  before embarking upon an initiative to invest. You should never invest more than what you can afford to lose. People are blinded by the Bitcoin stories of early investors becoming Lamborghini owners overnight, and throw all of their savings into a company who may very well, never get off of the ground, in a greedy attempt to get rich.
If you search the boards here, especially within the altcoin section, you will find a never ending list of ICO companies. It is very hard to parse through the legit startups, from the scams. It really doesn't matter, if your going to invest, it's your job to research as much as possible. If you're unsure of investing, but really interested in a startup company, then you need to find out if they offer bounties, the only investment thereof,  is time, and energy. In the end, it's you're call!

Infamous penny-stockbroker Jordan Belfort, better known as the ‘Wolf of Wall Street,’ has reaffirmed his claim that initial coin offerings (ICOs) are “the biggest scam ever.” Earlier this year, he claimed that Bitcoin is a fraud.
ICOs have become popular to investors worldwide over the past year due to their high returns for early investors. Recently, signs have emerged that some ICOs might just be too good to be true.

Like with any investment you should be careful where you put your money on. This is just Mr Belfort personal opinion. Other than that, you should make your own research before investing into any ICO. Maybe most of them are scam so make a better research
Which is the most important recipe of investment know your supported project before placing any entry, ico's is a game of wise people you should always updated and monitor the website and the forum threads about certain ico's. Its everybody's opinion and own speculation so better to create your own destiny.

Some of them are, and there is no way to control them. Some countries already tried regulating ico to protect investors getting robbed of their money but icos will just move their product to countries lenient with ico and won't let countries with regulation from joining. That is one downside of decentralized system, we cannot control scammers from using blockchain  to do their deeds.

One of Crete's own prophets has said it: "Cretans are always liars". That said by the prophete, Cretan himself, who knows his brothers best, must be a true statement, doesn't it ? Cheesy

I wouldn't read too much into what Mr Belfort said or sais, even if it based on his experience of being a freudster

Not all ICO are scam. In fact, lot of ICO investors and participants are already earning in which I'm one of them. But we still to be honest and admit that there are lot of ICO's are not legit that is why we need to support bitcoin and digital currencies regulation policy so that the government could now control and determine the scam ICO so that they could not participate in any investments. About bitcoin is a scam, we already knew and already proven that bitcoin is not a scam but the ICO and the sites that using bitcoin for investment in which some are HYIP and Ponzi scheme.

I am not agree that ico is a biggest scammer, also bitcoin is not involve in icos they used ethereum for their project. There are more legit icos whose giving huge income to those investors after their successful projects. I think your information is wrong because you said that bitcoin was used in scam ico which no one used bitcoin for their pre sale.

No they are not all scams, some of them are real and are their to benefit the community.
If someone decides to scam you and you fall into the trap, then you should take that as a lesson and never let it happen again in the future. It is true, many ICO's just want your money but their is small group of ICO's that want to help too!

Obviously the poster has had a bad experience with getting scammed himself so he is bitter. Just invest in projects which have a lot of backing and research them first because thats how you know what is a scam and what is actually a good project.

If your thread title is a statement then my opinion would be to disagree! Not ALL ICO's are Scams. Be cautious and do research before choosing any ICO to invest in!
