The reason I suggested a physical good (tea) rather than a digital good is because the digital market is already over saturated. Not only are there forum members selling steam games and keys, and PlayStation codes; they are also a number of homebrew websites, and after all that, you have to compete with Gyft. Better a thing only you can provide, like a hand crafted thing (art, craft, food even) or cater to a niche (specializing in having a wide selection of funny trucker hats, for example). That way you can order in bulk, and make that markup.

There is always a niche.

Always sell what you can mark up the most.

Know your target demographic. You are dealing with techno savvy folks for the most part. Wouldn't do to sell them hamburgers, you could sell those to anyone. Sell them USB cables even. But sell something relevant to the target.

Might follow my own advice about that tea,. Was an afterthought, but I see some merit in it if done right. Gonna clam up about it now.

On second thought, don't sell tea.
The only bad thing is that it's hard to look for a customer that may want your tea. Like what's special about it? I can get tea in the market if you can't specify things that may be different from others.

hi,

just had a small idea: what if bitcoin shops had this feature: buy this item if its cheaper than XBTC?
this would include BTC/USD conversation and product price changes.

the customer could deposit the money (and maybe withdraw it in case that after some time when his target isnt reached he doesnt want it anymore)

IMHO this should enable shops to plan better which should lead to cheaper prices (well at least for big shops. not sure if there are any atm)

please share your opinions ;-)

That would be lovely. I mean you deposit 1btc, wait for like a year for the price of btc to rise, then you order for that item you could not afford previously. Cool Cool
hmm.. its a good idea but it will be very difficult to trust some new website to let hold your money for that long ! for which the website should get some popularity and trust first !

digital sales. Game keys movie andntv subscriptions. Subscription to wow. Magic the gathering cards online is good for money. Sell good software like antivirus or VPN services.
hmm.. i think focusing in only one product will be alot better and after getting some level of popularity you can add more products to your shop which will promote your market/shop more efficiently Cheesy
If OP have enough budget and capital to start then I think he should start with more then 1 product. every thing is upto advertisements and promotions. once OP's service get viral then every thing can be bough from him.
the best things I can suggest to sell are digital goods. like games, softwares, accounts, etc.

Sell delicious tea. I'm serious. Easy to ship, both lightweight and not perishable. Comes in a variety of flavors, is a universally accepted beverage. It's cheap by bulk, and if you can buy bulk and repackage into something custom branded, you would make a killing.

I guess selling delicious tea is just ideal for customers that you are on the same country.
But I don't think there's going to be a service like this after all.
But if someone offers it here I'm going to try it.

yes i totally agree with you guys, selling tea would be great since its not perishable and easy to transit. You can shipped it wordwide to those buyer whose interested maybe if they aalready taste your delicious tea then it would be the way to become profitable in your business online.
I don't think this will hit it. Better think of something that's in demand. The one that will easily get sold and a product that won't expire. I can't give a good item but something like what I said is already a good thing.

you have a point there, There are other things that are far better than tea somewhat like digital goods, game credits and other being sold online using bitcoin as a payment. Its so hard to suggest if you dont know whats the interest of the OP.
That's right. Suggesting specific product is really hard that's why it's better to give him a guide for better selecting what's product that will hit the society.

I dont really expect that you would find out many customers paying for
tea with bitcoins,i would rather think there would be more bank transfers than btc payments.

I have some idea of creating bitcoin shops.
I would sell electronical wares, but the used ones, for people who dont have enough money to buy new one's.
I have many friend that may sell me wares like this,i would accept only bitcoin payment.
Seems a pretty good business for me Wink

It's like EBAY? which makes it not unique. Even more electronics deal with warranty, warranty is hard without invoices.
So in short your business plan has quite some holes. There is plenty of growth for bitcoin shops though.

Sell the services that you can offer. If you are good in graphics designing or programming. Although its not a shop but you can still earn with those types of services. Just don't forget that you must be enjoying what you are doing. Grin

You just need to create an online shop where your product is your service, that's still appropriate. And you can advertise your service through
that shop where people or potential customers will just view your shop and look for your portfolio's , sample creation's programs and other services
that you can offer to them. You don't have to do talking just able to have customers.
I think a service can be something like consulting services or online tutoring can be another option.
