http://www.investopedia.com/news/amazon-planning-accept-bitcoin-payments/

Looks like amazon gonna start accepting bitcoin payments from next month, but it can only be a rumor though.
If amazon will start accepting bitcoin than demand for bitcoin might surge a little bit and many other big merchants might start to add support for crypto/bitcoin.

This days everything starts from rumor's, big money is in the game and who join in early stages have more chances for huge profits, its all about that. I don't care much about Amazon, for me they are just one more online service, I care about bitcoin and I believe that bitcoin can be just stronger if Amazon as big company starts to accept bitcoin, and that will rise the price.
Speculations about Amazon and bitcoin are here and around for years, I will wait this month and then we will see was this truth or not, spreading rumor's is not an interesting game for me, for one month we will know more and we will discuss about effects of it.
If great businesses like Amazon which has thousands of customers will accept bitcoins, definitely it will increase the popularity of this digital currency.

Like Uber has accepted bitcoins, the users started trusting bitcoins more than before. I think Amazon will accept it this time. It must finally understand the value of bitcoins. I am expecting positive results.
Another one is start legalizing bitcoin and give incentives to those who pay using it. Many people is scared of bitcoin because of bad publicity that it is connected with black market. In our country there is certain company/ mobile application that gives incentives, bonus and freebies to those who use bitcoin as payment and I see positive feedback about this.

if Amazon (or any other big thing like it in the future) start accepting bitcoin as payment first the news of it (not the rumor though) will start a rally then it will become a big rise and price will go a lot higher in short term. but that is just the speculative effect of a good news.

the long term effects are what matter most. the fact that Amazon accepting bitcoin will put bitcoin on the radar and make it more popular every day is the biggest effect that is a long term one. people who are afraid because some random dude called bitcoin a fraud will know it was bullshit and start seeing bitcoin for what it really is: a decentralized currency.

Contact e-commerce websites like Amazon, and request that you want to pay with Bitcoin, Ether or any other coin you like.

It can be done by using site's feedback or contact us forms.

This way we can create demand because good e-commerce sites care about their users. And they know that the more payment methods you have the higher the conversion rate (the % of people who buy something) because some users can use only 1 method of payment. For example, some americans can only pay with Paypal while some venezuelans can only pay with Bitcoin, etc. So, if the site supports more payment methods it will convert more orders on average.

To increase the demand for implementing cryptocurrency payments in e-commerce sites we just have to request that using the contact us or feedback forms. The more people give feedback to their favorite online retailers the more people will start using bitcoin as payment method (now that we have segwit).

The more people do this the more demand for Bitcoin there will be.

Thanks to those who do that.

I guess this is working out going by the news we have heard in recent times whether confirmed or not in relation to Amazon.

However, going beyond that because most of the large e-commerce sites exist within the confines of the law, it's really beyond them to accept based on users request. For example, AliExpress which is another major site domiciled in China, I don't think would consider the acceptance of bitcoin demanded by users based on asking alone without putting into consideration the body language of government authorities at the moment.

What I suggest is also targeting small unnoticeable stores who are trying to create a niche for themselves in the already filled market, with that they could easily accept because they would see it as an untapped market rather than going after the big names alone.

This is a very old idea.

Several big sites already had btc payments implemented.
What happened next? Bitcoiners were happy but nobody was actually using it.
Same with real stores here that started accepting btc, simply nobody using it, so they stop accepting it.

The reason for this is fairly easy to explain, because we tested it. The merchant signup for a payment processor and display a Bitcoin Accepted sticker in his window. Most of their employees have no clue and very little training on how to handle this payment option, so this creates frustration with the customers and those employees.

In many cases, customers want to know more about this "Bitcoin" thing, and the employees cannot explain it to them. < We send in dummy customers to test them >

In other cases the customers wants to try it, but they do not know how to get it. A Bitcoin ATM in the shop or nearby, would have solved that problem.

Tip : Give proper training to employees & invest in a Bitcoin ATM. < Where this was done, merchants succeeded >

Oh, and give Bitcoin Only discounts as a incentive for people to use it. < push them >

Looks good idea to me but that will need lots of efforts and unity in between world crowd. Just making two or three application to Amazon won't help us. We will need number of applicants that too from different country's. Then only they will start thinking about the implementation of this payment system. Who knows they will not even consider it as long as couple of thousands application are arrived from each country. Each customer is price tag for them but it's valuable only if it shocks the amazons market, otherwise there will not be any use of this. Let's hope there will community about this who will lead us to perform that action today or sooner in the future.

Thats a good idea but even if we do that Amazon cant instantly add Bitcoin as payment method. It is not an easy process and all the facts have to be calculated. They have to think about the transparency of bitcoin transactions because people cant make a dispute if they product they buyed is bad. Also they have to take in calculation the fees of bitcoin.

That's a good idea, there are many ways we can introduce bitcoin, one of which is to make it as one of the means a payment on online shopping sites. if we do this and people pay with bitcoin, then more and more will recognize bitcoin and eventually they will start using bitcoin and this is a good thing for bitcoin.

I don't really think by filling up contact forms or sending feedback to them is a good way to persuade e-commerce website like Amazon to accept bitcoin into their payment system. Increasing the numbers of bitcoin users around the world is a better way to attract e-commerce sites to keep an eye on bitcoin, as it could generate a new source of income for their companies by targeting the group of customers who prefer to use bitcoin for payment.

It has been proposed in the past and call for Amazon to accept bitcoin is widely on request. Actually not just in Amazon but on other big merchants store too.

But honestly, like others saying here, even a store accepts bitcoin, I doubt many will used their bitcoin as a currency since bitcoin price is expected to increase for more years to come. Bitcoin holders doesn't want to take away the chances so by any means, they will just used their bitcoin if it's really needed.
But that will mean that bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have value only for holding them.
Buying stuff from internet won't happen because 100% of people hold?
There are no developing countries which currencies have deflated and use Bitcoin for having value, like Venezuela?

You talk like there are no cryptocurrency payment processors? Look in Google.

Why think like that, when Bitcoin is getting more and more featured on the news and now a lot of people have heard of it? In a couple of years when the technology becomes more usable it will hopefully get massively adopted.

So, the whole point is that people who want to buy stuff from internet with crypto have to contact their sites and ask for that. Good internet stores take into account user feedback seriously and if lots of people are requesting it, they will implement it because it will make them more money. See this article: Boost conversion rate by offering alternative payment methods.

In a nutshell the more payment methods a online store has the more sales they do for the same traffic.

Both, online shops and crypto users have interest to do it. Its a win-win bank-lose situation. Everything is in place and soon it can happen. Lets do it.

Lets contribute for the early adoption of Bitcoin and stop banks from frauding the system(QE) and taxing us much more.

Bitcoin demand can be increased by using it for the e-commerce like the company Amazon since it is operating world wide . Bitcoin is a decentralized financial system and its transparency and anonymity leads to increase the operating volume day by day .Bitcoin is an electronic asset valuable than Gold and hence it can be replaced by paper currency and it can be used for the day to day Shopping so bitcoin demand can be increased.

I think this is vague discussion about amazon implemting the worlds highest traded crypto currency like bitcoin. Don't you guys think if Amazon wanted to implement that then they could have done that already! It's really big online merchant and they know very well how to conduct the the market survey. They might have thought of it already but due to management decisions on bitcoin it could have gone wrong. For example, bitcoin is having very less stability in terms of prices. There are confirmations, waiting of the payment processing which can make it hard to pass on to customer and merchant connection. Plus I believe there are more non crypto users in the world and they may not prefer bitcoin at this moment.

Well, pressures from the buyers can help a lot for an online retailer to consider Bitcoin as one of the mode of payments accepted. This can help in telling Amazon to think on how they can incorporate Bitcoin into their infrastructure and e-commerce platform. I do however believe that Amazon is not blind to not see the great potential of Bitcoin but maybe they have decided that they need some more time before they can get Bitcoin into their site. In my own estimate, they are also concerned about volatility because most online retailers are not charging that much in their profit margins. One day Amazon would take up Bitcoin am sure of that...we can tell them to do it faster otherwise they can be missing the opportunity to also be a Bitcoin leader.

I highly doubt that efforts like this will change their minds. These people have "special" arrangements with other payment

options and even kick backs to some decision makers to seal the deals to use them. You pay a premium in shady back room

deals to get them to accept your payment options. It's all about the money...... money.... money..... and taxes.  Roll Eyes

We should find some good reputable members on Amazon who are also related with bitcoin stuff. Then we create a online petition for Amazon to add cryptocurrencies, with thousands of votes. Amazon will see that even the best sellers from their shop want this thing to happen. Anyway it will take a while and it is a lot of work adding bitcoin as payment method
