Not agree.

You don't think bounty members deserve merit for a job well done?

no bounty hunters should be kicked in the bollocks and hung

Hows that signature avatar campaign going for you there, my salty friend?
How is this a bad idea?

There is already an idea floated by hilarious that shitcoiners should pay a fee to list their ICOs. No tokens necessary. They can pay in BTC. Forum gets the whole pie. All the benefits that you mentioned would still exist.

This is a Bitcoin forum. There should not be any tokens involved in any official forum business.
The token was a fun idea but ok I have been corrected. Nonetheless I stand by what I said. Also BTCT does not need the whole pie. I was thinking more of a bounty community support thing. I am not here to draw up ideas for a Bitcointalk business scheme.

Ok so the merit thing was a bad idea, I get it. But if you cut out the merit part, it is a good idea! Pay fee>get tokens>spread your ico announcement>additionally reward users with tokens. Bitcointalk get a piece of the pie too. So everyone wins and the scammers/spammers stay away because they know their shitico is going to get identified as scam sooner or later and they won't want to pay the fee > Less spamming campaigns on Bitcointalk.

How is this a bad idea?

From my perspective, this is still a bad idea. There is no reason for the forum being involved with shitty icos. One thing is to be a free site, where anyone can be allowed to spread any project and another -and very different one- is to receive some shitty icons as a result. It implies a way of being involved that is unnecessary.
Do not misunderstood me, I get why are you saying that, but this is against the spirit of the forum. It is very different to be "free" than to be " a part of" something.

How is this a bad idea?

Well, part of it is already implemented as you need a copper membership to post images, so in a way you have to pay to the forum to post your project /in a proper way/.
It seems that til now you have misinterpreted the whole idea of the forum. It's not a place to work, and the main source of income, the bounties are just a side effect of the new projects appearing here, looking for advertising.
The greed of the people turned the forum into a trashcan of shitposters trying to get as much as possible income from the shittycoin/token projects which from the other had are looking to scam the new "investors" to get rich quick and easy and willing (sometimes) to pay the bounty hunters.

Of course there are some legit projects but to spot them in this mess of scammers it's like real mining, you need to dig a few tons of dirt to find a piece with the size of rice grain.

Just a tip, do something good for the forum and you'll see that it will pay you back...

This goes to the Altcoin section Service Announcements (Altcoins) since Merit token is going to be another ShitAltcoin  Grin
-snip
I guess that will be the suitable word for the MERIT TOKEN

Quote from: The Pharmacist
The majority of bounty hunters are degenerate shitposters, and if you introduce a merit token that can be exchanged for actual merit, it'll get abused to no end.
And it will turn out to be like buying Merits. It will be the other term for the regularization of Merit Buying in the Forum.

Merit tokens are just a way hunters still get something even if the bounty is a scam or fails.
I guess being aware is just a simple solution for not being in a bounty scam/failure. With your idea more abusive people will definite pop up in no time.

If anything this makes it a cleaner forum.
It'll definitely won't.

Certainly. He just elaborated it in a good concept? Or maybe not.

Believe, if half of the users complaining about Merit take the time to research and think about writing posts, we'll get a lot more useful posts!
I think there would be more people who'll just use the COPY/PASTING Methods / (Reconstruct).

Ok well this is good, constructive critisicm.

What about a second merit system for bounty hunters that has nothing to do with merit now? So as for the hunters to have a proof of quality stamp, instead of being judged by merit they are judged by the work they have done? Also is making bounty announcers pay a fee really that bad? nobody gave me feedback to that? Would that not weed out the scammers?

I think Meta was missing TMAN badly. Nice to see you here.

Meaning of bollocks

@TMAN, that is a tough word, I do not think if Duolingo have this word in their curriculum.

Somebody is really sharing your concern. I just find this morning about moon forum.(https://www.moonforum.net)
I think you can safely go "to the Moon" in this forum.

...

A merit is a way of telling someone else: "Hey, dude, well done, good work", always related to the post quality. We don`t need merit to acquire an economic view, for they are already being sold in the underground market here.

Merit should be restricted to the people who are actually concern about the forum, the quality and about making some good contributions. This is not economical, but "emotional" somehow.

So, no, of course, no. It would be against the merit system spirit which is to encourage the people to become someone of value in here by a good posting behaviour, not an economical reward.

Normally when I choose a bounty I check if this is bounty manager or a personal bounty program. And I check the total merits they have..this is a good point and I think we want some bounty trust calculator soon.

They're compensated for what they do, and that's enough.  The majority of bounty hunters are degenerate shitposters, and if you introduce a merit token that can be exchanged for actual merit, it'll get abused to no end.

If the bounty hunter is in a signature campaign, they'll earn merits if they deserve them.  No token needed.

But they aren't though. 99% of bounty icos never go anywhere. And content creators and translators are being picked by their value of trust in this community since most already have decent portfolios.

Merit tokens are just a way hunters still get something even if the bounty is a scam or fails. Think of it this way: Everyday we see 5-10 new bounties. Most are trash, and they know their ico is trash, but they are going to find members on this board that will spam their crap anyway.

With the introduction of fees the bounty announcements go down, lesss spam less trash more real rewards for real work.

If anything this makes it a cleaner forum.
