when bitcoin is ready for mass adoption there will be many mass adoption efforts.. its just not there yet so settle down folks.

one idea i have is a few youtube video's of "secret millionaire" where i will go to charities that actually do some frontline important stuff in communities, and then at the end of the video, ill give them bitcoins.

other idea's is to give homeless paper wallets (ofcourse in area's where there is a ATM or merchant to use the paper based bitcoins on).

but for now its not ready for average joe

Start a rumor that using bitcoin makes breasts and penises grow. You won't be able to make them fast enough to match demand.
This has to be the best method ever suggested!!

Hope this makes the top five list for best suggestion: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2eawbv/warm_10_gallon_bucket_of_shit_challenge/

A fully self-funded mockumentary entitled OBAM (Operation Bitcoin Awareness Movement).

Three dudes (white, A-A, and a Hindu) and a blonde dudette travel the countryside (eventually world) try to convince diverse prospects to accept bitcoins (and/or other cryptocurrency) for their various products and services.

Along the way they hold court with prostitutes, politicians, clergy, gang members, boys and girl scouts, old folks in homes, cops to see if they would accept bribes via bitcoins, Amish, newborn fresh from the womb,... You get the picture.

Some of the content can be scripted, some not. Viewers can send in suggestions, or may have a relative/friend that they desire to convert, needing the team to help in this effort.

The more skill sets the four have, the better the show. Think Bubbles playing Rush on guitar.

I did say self-funded, thus introducing OBAM Coin. And, the four star's character's names start with one of the letters, viz. Oliver, Betty, Ahman and Mondo.

Sounds Good... Would definitely get mass interest. Through Celebrities would be the fastest way to promote bitcoins I think tho.

How about making a huge Btc wallet holding tons of coins, used for only donation, maybe 1$/person...just like stellar did.

honestly, a lot of the change in this world comes from concentrated masses of dumbasses. Silicon valley produces the stuff for the masses/dumbasses then they go around and be stupid with eachother. which is fine, most of us do stupid things oh well. but bitcoin isn't for the masses, yet. its too complicated for people who have no concept of even what video game money is.

thats the thing, they dont need to understand anything about it. btc is easy to use, even for the dumb masses, and thats enough imo.
if they literally link their fb account to quickcoin or even better changetip they just need to know how to type a tweet or a post to their friends with the right tags and they are already using btc.
think how many ppl use the internet but have no idea what their IP is, for example. they just know how to get online, google search and send emails and thats it. imo if they can do that much already, they can use btc - btc is even less complicated to use than email or fb or whatever.

thats the biggest blockade for mass adoption imo, the btc world tries to explain 'what and the why' with blockchains and ghash rates and milibits or satoshis and 2 factor auths and cold storage etc etc. the masses just want the simplest version of the 'how' and not a word more.
also, the btc world are just waiting for word of mouth to work and the world to come to them etc, but really it needs to be pushed to them (in the right way).

i think, the only real education needed is when ppl need to buy it. once the btc world provides a super easy way to do this, then we are 100% ready to go. so far atms are too complex or rare, the online exchanges need id and proof of address and a blood sample before you can use it, then after that its risky waters on ebay or whatever.

People say the btc price volatility is another problem, but only when more ppl use it will the price stabilize as it will be less prone to market manipulation (as it is now). so stability can only really come with mass adoption anyway, so its not a reason to hold off but rather a reason to push harder.

man, if i had 50btc to spare i bet you i could get 10,000 new people using btc in 1 month with some simple online fb marketing and competitions. i need to find a btc millionaire whos interested... or maybe start a kstr...

Send Obama a bitcoin and let him mention it on tv.

Nice, but how do we get him a wallet address?  Tongue

You could send Obama a tip on @changetip.  They will set up a wallet for his twitter account, which he can claim if he chooses.

Nice! I just signed in and they gave me 50c for free. If many of us tip the same person it might get attention. I what about Colbert or similar? I'd imagine he'd be more open to mentioning it and getting some more momentum with it?

@madbitcoins tried to get a mass tipping to Youtube celebrity Jenna Marbles a couple of weeks ago.  She didn't respond/collect the bitcoins and after a while it looked like borderline Internet stalking.  I'm not sure any celebrities (other than some of the more tech savvy like Tim Farris, Mark Cuban, etc.) will take the tip and start talking about it.  Joe Rogan has had two podcasts on it, but that was back when it was over $800.
I don't think we need celebrities mentioning bitcoin for it to be know to the mass public. Bitcoin is well known enough so that most people have at least heard about it, but probably don't know what it is/how it works. It has made the news many times, and there has been the misconception that bitcoin has "filed for bankruptcy" many times. What needs to happen is for the public to be better educated as to how bitcoin works.

The promotion of bitcoin will come from VC investment.

And on a more gradual pace P2P.

Flowing through my phone electricity.

Asking the exponential question explicitly.

"Do you take bitcoin for these?"

Already started  ......from 10,000 merchants to 35,000 + today, with a target of 1 million in 27 months  that is fast promotion

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-fight-for-market-share-of-merchants-better-for-us-all-718153

“We have set a goal to enroll 1 million merchants by the end of 2016 […] When we started BitPay in 2011, we saw an opportunity to finally give merchants around the world relief from interchange fees. By offering a basic plan that is free and unlimited, forever, we give merchants yet another reason to be excited about bitcoin.”

I will make a following action for my friends:

1) I printed paper wallets as banknotes with private keys (https://www.offlineaddress.com/)
2) I sent there 0.005 BTC in every

3) I invite my friend to restaurant
4) I give every person by bitcoin "banknote"

And here interesting Smiley

5) We eat but i notified them before restaurant that they will pay by cash but i send amount equivalent at end of our meal (right in restaurant from my Adnroid phone through "Bitcoin Wallet") to each to his paper wallet in pulic address.
6) May be i will print small crib how to use bitcoin (software wallets for phones)

Goals:

1) It's fun
2) I spread some bitcoins between people and they get a real tools for trying.
3) We eat fine and they learn new technologies

So they will get real bitcoins, fine meal and beautyful paper wallet.

Yes, it costs for me. But it can be done not often Smiley

Theymos, unban my account.
If everyone tells two people about Bitcoin each week, the number of people working with Bitcoin in some capacity could grow faster. As blockchain technology continues to evolve, people will see Bitcoin and blockchain technology every day. You won't be able to go somewhere without seeing something about Bitcoin. Think of how many places show prices in the local currency. If people start seeing BTC everywhere, then they'll need to learn more about it in order to shop while using Bitcoin.

I just tipped Colbert and Jimmy Fallon as they seem like the type to bring it up on their shows, I dont actually know any other USA presenters anyway lol
If they even notice it, it might stick in their minds at least

How about asking for BTC option everytime you are about to pay something? It will increase the word use and people will start becoming aware.

I do this all the time in pages like ebay!
