It works based on sovereign identity, so signing a multiple variety of keys much like PGP. It is not centralized so it is not controlled by a third party, signings only occuring as block stamp timings on the.network. Which is decentralized in nature meaning that one person does not get to touch private keys or otherwise or handle any of your data. This also means you can stop your data being spread at any point if you are dealing with larger networks or affiliates of said network.
