I always thought of buying bitcoin but always pulled back and I always regret it not doing so at that time when it was under $50 coz at that time I thought it was still expensive. But now it's 2500+ and I don't know if it's still a good idea to buy or not? Someone says price will go to zero because Ethereum has arrived and some other says price will reach to 1 billion which is a ridiculous no. So, experts please advise what shall I do? I have roughly 10k reserved to invest in cryptocurrency?

It is very normal to have doubts about investing. But based from your experience, you should have learned your lesson already. Neglect your doubts and buy some Bitcoins now. I repeat, NOW. Yes bitcoin is uncertain due to its volatility but that is the best part, you might have 50%-100% profit within just months. Do not pay attention to those who claims that Bitcoin will bite the dust and become worthless just because of an alt coin. So buy now and suffer from disappointment again. It's your call.
It's weird that you surmise that, from 2016 to 2017 bitcoin has dramatically increased in its cost, and if this happens again than bitcoin will be at $5000 toward the begin of 2018. So to believe that $2500 is a breakpoint for bitcoin is insane. On the off chance that you are considering contributing than you shouldn't get perplexed of a few people talking that bitcoin wouldn't ascend in value, it is clearly going to and there is nothing that can stop it.

OP, if you have no other use for Bitcoin but to buy and hope your $10,000 will soon be $20,000, then I advise you to turn around and leave for now until you know what you are getting into.

If you had an opportunity to buy it when it was under $50, how come you are still a newbie in this forum?  Wink
You would probably qualify more as an expert than the people around here.

 I got my first BTC @ $40...and I'm a "newbie"

It is hard to know about Bitcoin for years, and not get tempted into buying some.  Smiley

If you are looking for someone to tell you the exact answer to your question, you aren't gonna get it. A lot of people will say things that they believe, but will you ever get the correct answer, probably. Why? Because no one knows what will happen to Bitcoin, but everyone will make guesses and someone is bound to get relatively close to the answer. I would say that you shouldn't invest into Bitcoin, you missed it at 50 dollars and continued to miss it and are still missing it. You clearly don't believe in Bitcoin, if you did you would be rolling in cash now. I think it would be smarter for you just to keep your money and invest into something more ordinary such as stocks or gold. You seem like that kind of person. Because if you invest into Bitcoin and it ends up going south, you are going to regret it for a very, very long time.

Buy ! Buy as much as you can ! But for God's sake do not sell each time the price will be falling. Wait until at least 5000$ in one or two years and sell at that time.

In my opinion, Bitcoin will still increase its price in the future. Whatever will happen, the source of Bitcoin is not umlimited so that if Bitcoin is still being used in the future, of course its price will not stop bumping

I would say yes but wait for some correction post august 1st then you can purchase bitcoins even below $2500. You wouldn't be at loss even if you purchase now but the amount of profit you would make will be less.

If you have $10k than its better to invest in multiple coins along with bitcoin to make most out of it. Bitcoin price will grow naturally over time so $2500 can still be considered as good entry point, you can hold 50% in bitcoin and remaining 50% in alts with high marketcaps like eth, etc, xrp, xmr and ltc.

do you even read the answers people give you?
you already have 3 topics in this board which are all practically asking the same thing! if you stop making new topics and start reading some of these answers you won't need to ask anymore.

Guess I should add, that...it is ALWAYS a good time to buy BTC...that is, IF you're planning on holding on for a while. I know NOTHING of daytrading, too risky for an overanxious guy like me. Obviously though, hodling has been pretty good to me   Wink
Holding will useful with people not have a lot of time for working in trading or not have experiences and knowledge technical analysic about trade coin scapling. So, when wrong or misstake your guess the price in next time, holder always lost more than day trader because they not know take loss soon can helps them keep safe their funds Tongue

The same continues forever, already you've missed long way starting from $50 and it have reach in a multiple of 50. That means the current price has grown 50 times higher than the value at which you regreted it thinking as expensive. Even if you miss the opportunity, once again you'll feel bad within few years time.

I would say that you must have felt so disappointed when you did not buy Bitcoin when it was only $50. So do you want to be disappointed again? Buy some Bitcoin now and hold 'em for a long period of time. That will assure you that you will gain so much from this investment. Your fears will not bring you somewhere. It is better to take some risk than playing safe.

If you are seeking a fast way to get rich, no buying btc at 2500$ is not a good idea.
If you have a plan for a long term investment, maybe yes, it's a good idea, because it's not impossible see another pump in the next 5-10 years.
Personally I have never invested any dime in ethereum, and I don't have so much "faith" in this project, I don't know it's my impression.

if you're brave enough and knowledgeable enough to make sure you will have profit, then go for it. i as well regret that i didn't buy/invest in bitcoins way back then.
just wait for another huge price drop before you buy, and you dont always have to buy a whole bitcoin.

Why you ask for advise when you have the chance to get it cheap before? You don't need advise but used your common sense. I think no amount of advise could sway you to buy it at this price. Because of the current price $2500 it would really be expensive. So for me, the price is not a good one to get because its too expensive. The Ethereum flippening won't happen and bitcoin will still remain on top.

Well it's up to you whether you buy bitcoin at the price of $2500 because no once can predict when the price drops or price get higher. you can try to wait for a few months until you got the price that you wanted when buying bitcoins or earn it by joining campaign and selling your services. there are lot ways to earn bitcoin nowadays. good luck on your decision  Wink

If you're not sure if you want to buy then just join a signature campaign and get a few free coins.  It won't be much but at least you won't have to pay for them. In the mean time, you could wait to see if there is a big drop in price and then buy at that time. I personally will not buy any more at these prices because it's so expensive.
