I see some threads discussing that bitcoin will bull run getting to the end of this year. Guys, what are you going to do if these speculations fail to come to reality and enters next year. Will you still invest in bitcoin?
What many investors are looking right now is the stability in bitcoins price after every spike and it is showing strong support even after the pump no any big correction like before till now so we can expect this to be signal of trend reversal. When this is confirmed whales will first start to buy a hell lot of bitcoin pumping price than newbie investors will jump into due to FOMO.

they may not buy for now unless there is a good signs from the regulators and operators. the fomo is because of those news about it. but the price regularly goes up by end of the year not like how it did last year though. it doesn't matter whether the bullrun we expect fails, we still are going to be here expecting it will happen again in the next few months or years.

Though we should be careful because if it goes up that is great but if goes back down than it might hurt even worse after all this.

That's exactly what people don't pay attention to. They think the $6000 level is safe but it really isn't. We have seen a similar rise happen that lead to a near $10,000 peak just before the consensus event, but it came down hard afterwards. Nothing prevents the same situation from happening again if there will be no ETF approval next month. It's all up to the SEC right now -- they literally can make the price climb over $10,000 or make it fall deep under $6000 again. Being conservative is the least we can do to prevent disappointment, and of course make sure you are not out of fiat. If there will be a correction tanking the market you can at least buy the dip....

If you need to sell BTC, you're not a real bitcoiner.

The bitcoin dream will come true when we'll be able to buy anything we need by using the one true currency.
BTC

I disagree with your first sentiment. Do you really think the only people who should be in Bitcoin are those who never need to liquidate assets? I thought one of the points of crypto-currency was to help level the playing field instead of catering specifically to the elite.

And I believe your second sentiment is pretty much already true. Anybody want to order some pizza?

In my own opinion, bitcoins does not need to run a bullish market because people will still earn a huge amount of profit if they are patient enough to wait for the price to increase before selling their coins.

It looks good as the price of bitcoin is heading forward even when there is not much of growth with the altcoins. There is nothing to think about such speculations that were with focus of breaking the bullish trend. Keep trust and stay along with bitcoin experiencing the bull market.

At least for now, there is not goign to be a bullrun if that is what you are asking for, it might take some time until we see green numbers again, but not for now, lets wait a little bit longer

Of course the best thing you can do is to continue to invest on it because the price is still quite cheap and then waited it out for the next bull run. It doesn't matter if its today or the next year, as long as people understand that eventually, bull run will happen then investors will still continue to flock and pour their money. So its still a win-win situation, imho.

It already achieved what it was suppose to achieve. It created a sense of hope in people and they have been happy once again. During all this downfall of bear markets more and more people decided to get out and they have been afraid of going even lower. With this small bull run we have seen that bitcoin is still very much alive and people are once more happy about it.

Though we should be careful because if it goes up that is great but if goes back down than it might hurt even worse after all this. As per many indicators and strategies, I am hoping for positive days here after. But may have many surprises for us hence lets wait and experience.

Yes, i will still stay buy bitcoins side and invest or collect them in other ways. Fundamentals are still the same and in the long time frame it will only be stronger. Bitcoin wont be valued at 7000 or 10000 or even 190000 dollars. It will either be much bigger than that or it wont exist

It doesn't mean that just because you sold some of your bitcoin, you're not a real bitcoiner. How could you enjoy the perks of having bitcoin if you won't sell it on high? It's okay to sell some at high while you kept most of it as a holder.

This all depends on what you believe. Some people invested in bitcoin because of the hype and not really know what bitcoin is all about. And there are believers.
Anyone who's read my posts here knows I'm pretty much still a novice when it comes to understanding the technical aspects of crypto, but that doesn't exclude me from being a bitcoin user and supporter.  You don't have to be a mechanic to drive a car, in other words.  I didn't buy bitcoin because of the hype, but I saw that it was becoming more than jut a fad, which is what I thought it was for a couple of years before I actually bought some.

Nowadays my budget is pretty constrained, so I don't have a lot of fiat I can convert into crypto, but I'm still a bitcoin enthusiast, and that's what keeps me coming back to this forum.  I guess you could call me a believer.  But you're right, there are many folks here who couldn't give a shit about bitcoin.  It's basically just a way to earn money through spamming, whether it's here on bitcointalk or on social media.  The only positive thing about that is that it does get people involved in bitcoin.

That might be really, really bad for the forum, but I can't deny that it's good for the crypto economy.  On the other hand, I don't think it exactly makes lifelong crypto supporters.  If they lost the ability to earn here, they'd lose interest in crypto altogether.

Many bitcoin enthusiasts are holding bitcoin because they believe that the future will be far more better than now.  I will still be investing in bitcoin if it did not meet up with my expectations and I believe many of us will still be holding and makes some good money.

I believe the bear run has ended. Now alts are falling as BTC rises - this always happens close to a bull run. First BTC will go on a bull run and then the alts.

you shouldn't be making decisions based on comments you read online! most of them aren't even speculation, they are trolling or spreading FUD because they are desperate and most of them won't come true because they are either unrealistic or contradictory.

and based on what people are calling "bull run" these days i don't see any possibility for them to happen! we will have a rise but nowhere near what some of these people are expecting like expecting $50k by the end of 2018!

yeah the likelihood of an exponential bull run in the next few months i'd put at like 1% chance. Probably what we will see this second half of 2018 is the start of the next long bull run over the next two years, like the 2.5 year bull run that went from $200 to $20k, I could see another 2+ year bull run starting roughly now that goes from $6k to ~$100k.

If OP is talking about an actual exponential run this year that is a very unrealistic idea.
To me the next bull run starting this year means we'll see $10k by end of year.

If you don't think there'll be a bull run then pick a comfort price and buy/sell proportionally² to how far it rises/falls above/below your comfort price. I put my eggs in more than one basket.
