Past history is not a gurantee for the same thing to happen in the future. That was in 2014, the fundamentals that caused that is not the same as what we see in 2018. Who knows if bitcoin don't rise to the level of price it drops from since last december, then more depression will set in for long term holders.
No one said that it's guarantee to happen OP only wants to bring our hopes up by showing this. I too don't expect Bitcoin to reach $15k - $20k but if you're a long term holder you shouldn't be depressed with the price because there's a lot of time for growth and halving is less than 2 years. The only people that should worry here are the short term holders who can't wait.

cryptos are a long term thing. one moor drop id say then its time to get back in for the long haul.
Before we get to a higher state there should be a significant drop so it can drive it's price easily to the ceiling again.

I adopted back in 2014 so I am less bothered about the decrease because I am sure the current situation will not continue for longer.
Not only you, 2017 adopters (Not by December) and below aren't really bothered with the drops as long as we/they managed to hold until now.

Price is still good and these newbies that are showing their bad mood with the decrease are the ones who are changing the ambiance here.

Even though I am not particularly fond of technical analysis for bitcoin price prediction, but the current price should not make an early adopter depressed in any way. 2017 was exceptionally great for the crypto market but 2018 is not looking very promising as of now. However, it certainly doesn't mean that coming years will be dull as well. We can definitely hope for a better situation.

Nothing can be said beforehand but we can definitely hope for the best. I am also really hopeful that bitcoin will reach the expected target and even more by 2021.

All you need to do is look at this chart that was made during the "long bear market" of 2014 and believe. The estimate for 2017 reached its target plus more. I am optimistic it will reach its target for 2021 too. Plus more. Cool
