This week BTC dominance move below 50% of the marketcap for the first time thanks to Ripple pump, I believe 99% of these Altcoins will die first before BTC.

it's pretty clear that the money would move to altcoin, you see the  last dump caused a spike in all the big alt like etheruem and dash, this time won't be different

besides i don't think the value will ever go below 1/4($300-350) of what it is know, because it would be under the electricity cost of the miners, miners will pump the coin long before it happen
I am sorry but I disagree a bit. Ethereum started growing big time in price at the beginning of March. Bitcoin was already above $1k which was more than okay for it at that time. 25-th of March - bitcoin falls to $900. Nevertheless, ethereum was already pumping at that time for a few weeks. The next big change in price of ethereum was at the end of April (25-30th of April). At that time bitcoin was also experiencing a major pump.
To sum up, no strict correlation here.

I believe the era of $500 Bitcoin price is long gone, if BTC dumped hard, the Altcoin market will surely follow because the economy of most of this coins depend on the success of BTC

Two scenarios, in the first one, people would panic, all altcoins would drop also because people would sell them for BTC. Bitcoin transactions would take days, as everyone was trying to send them to cash them out for dollars. Massive drop.
Second one, people would buy other coins and sell their BTC because of the dump, so it would just fall down on the market cap ladder, and another coin would take it's place. Prices of altcoins would rise because people would buy them with their BTC money.

All this time I believe that altcoins price is inversely proportional to the price of bitcoin just like a pair in forex. If bitcoin value goes up, altcoin value goes down and vice versa. But recently, when bitcoin value was pushing up, some altcoins are also surging up. I guess altcoin price is not correlated with bitcoin's price.

What will happen to all the altcoin if Bitcoin experiences a big dump? For example lets say BTC price goes under $500 or even $200, how it will affect the prices of altcoin?
You must understand if the real value of altcoin pegged to the price of bitcoin. If the bitcoin gets down for a lot and it will make the altcoin price stressed.
So, most of the altcoins are using the price of bitcoin as a root.

Will one or two top crypto currencies at marketcap like Ethereum, Litecoin or Dash will take over and become the number one crypto currency and have higher value than bitcoin?
I don't think so, but i can it's possible for ethereum to take over the bitcoin's place in the future regarding its development and community growth.
Or do all the altcoin also fall with bitcoin?
If some altcoins are not trying to keep his price will be stable with pump and it makes altcoin price goes down a lot.

Your question is too impossible to be happen it maybe drop the price value but not the price you are talking about in between 500$ or 200$, And if ever that happens it maybe also that some of the altcoin will increase again while bitcoin is dropping down the value but doesn't they can over take the price of bitcoin and can replace the position of bitcoin.

If bitcoin price dumps then it would be a good news for the potential investors and traders and also in altcoins because you can buy a lot of cheap bitcoins and it will be easy for the people in the altcoin market to pump their coin because they can buy bitcoin for a very lower price and they will surely put it on altcoins and it will drive the altcoin prices crazy.

The answer would depend on the reason of the dump.

1. If Bitcoin is dumped due to a critical technical issue which threatens Bitcoin's stance as a robust crypto (like finding a critical bug in protocol/code), the market would certainly move to a worthy successor (). In that case Bitcoin as well go to $1 instead of $200.

2. If it is due to the liquidity in market or just pure manipulation by whales, it will affect all altcoins also. But this will be temporary and Bitcoin will rise again in near future.

Maybe, depending on demand users. if the btc price falls while the eth rises, it indicates there is a very large transfer $ from btc to eth, but if many people sell btc to $, then price ethereum with btc will increase. Depending on $ that supplies altcoin.

price of anything is simply based on supply and demand. however in short term this can change and price can go up and down due to temporary effects.

bitcoin has that demand and it is rising, so there is no reason for it to go down drastically like what you suggest and certainly any drop would be much smaller and for a short period of time. and demand for bitcoin is different types of demand since it is both an investment and a currency.

now this supply and demand rule exists for altcoins too. but the demand for altcoins is only one kind of demand and that is traders buying them to make profit short term from the pumps. this means these altcoins can not survive in long term as the history has proved many times with many altcoins.
although i should add that there are altcoins with real usages, such as Monero and Litecoin but that has always been small and that is the reason for these coins to live this long.
the fact of the matter is, many of these altcoins (like etehrum) are not even suitable to be used as a currency and have numerous problems that will only be intensified if they become more used.

Good question.

There isn't a direct correlation. So if Bitcoin goes one direction you won't alway see all or any one alt coin go a specific direction as a result. We need to talk in possibilities.

First, some alt coins might see a boost. But this only applies to the select few best of the alt coins. Ethereum and Litecoin are the best next options. I'll confess that I don't know much about Dash but it could be equally high on the alternative list.

Second, some alt coins might also see a drop. We've got a lot of simultaneous growth going on now...which eventually encourage people to "lock in some gains." Meaning, after a good run, people sell to reclaim their investment, to ensure they've taken advantage of the run, because they think the run is over, etc.

Third, why not buy more bitcoin if the price takes a hit? What I'm really getting at is focus on the "fundamentals" of the coin and the climate. Playing what you think are trends is rather foolish in investing, and outright insane in the cryptocurrency industry. There's just zero information that can be used to prescribe future cryptocoin activity.

Last, I don't think another coin will take over for Bitcoin. If Bitcoin dies the alts will go with it, the concept will have failed. The only potential survivor is Ethereum, which isn't a coin or open currency and it's future is based on the success of businesses (A) using blockchain technology for their business and (B) the desire of these businesses to not write their own blockchain-based platform (which is the core product Ethereum provides).

i like every possibilities you've made and it could be happen if bitcoin price is drop but i don't think people which involve in bitcoin industry will let this happen because they don't want to see their investment is going to down without they don't make something to make bitcoin still survive. maybe ethereum have the chance to survive than the other coins like you said but still it needs more people to get involve in ethereum and ethereum and ethereum developer needs to reunite again to continue the same project.

I agree i also observed that whenever Bitcoin goes down, altcoins increase in price specially those that Amph mention.  This happen because bitcoin holder tends to divert or take the chance to make profit from altcoin since history shows that altcoin increase in price whenever Bitcoin price crash.

besides i don't think the value will ever go below 1/4($300-350) of what it is know, because it would be under the electricity cost of the miners, miners will pump the coin long before it happen

or possibly miners will move  to  more profitable altcoins abandoning Bitcoin mining if they cannot push the price up and it keep on crashing.

As one of the mate quoted it's clear that a small user base moves towards the altcoins community. Same situation that happened in the past price dump that happened due to the support gained on BU. At that moment a lot users invested in altcoin and the same started retuning back when once again bitcoin retained the sudden fall.

I this is totally waste  to think for us because it can be happen , since everything is possible in This world  but reality behind this is that people are daily investing in the bitcoin and demand supply are tends to down .
Since it may happen if every country declare it as useless and ban it to use ( but this is also impossible ) .
Now let us assume price goes down to 200$ then nothing will gone wrong Because every old bitcoiners knows that what the bitcoin is and how can we get Profit , here at this condition bitcoiners will buy bitcoin for future and people will start to make trade at low price rate but Thier budget will not get changed , So with small problem of week , Everything will go smoothly .
