being famous can only be a start.
surely if someone as big as Hal Finney created an altcoin back in his time, many would have gone and bought and tried it out. which means the price would have gone up fast.
but to remain on top you can't remain with just being famous. if he created a shitcoin people would have left the coin and ruin his reputation.

It can be happen. Imagine that one day, Bill Gates decides to make his own coin and I believe that with his ability, he can convince many other bilionaires to put their money in this his cryptos. People do not know much about Bitcoin because there are not many famous CEO or celebrity support it. Therefore, I do believe that an altcoin which is developed by famous CEO can harm Bitcoin

I don't agree with you at all. The reason why Bitcoin is and will still be the Number One Crypto-Coin is because It is backed by dedicated developers and an ever growing bitcoin community. What determines the success of any coin is the community behind it so for a Coin like bitcoin with a large Community, It seems Impossible to be replaced even when the coin's developer is a rich CEO, A Popular individual etc. The way I see it, Bitcoin can only be replaced by another cryptocurrency when the developers abandons it, and the community support dries up. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Celebrities creating their own cryptos  Roll Eyes LOL this will never happen and i am quite sure this will not see any success or can have any threat to bitcoin.

You can look at Trump and Putin coins they are pumping and dumping hardly with just small news about this two political figures which is one good example of manipulation.  Grin

Max keiser, financial terrorist and strange person. The coin was born live on his show.

He also shamelessly pumped quark which went nowhere. I don't know if I'd call him super famous.
Not only his Maxcoin, he has some other projects, like startcoin, it is also dead project too. It is introduced in his linkedin

The revolutionary trading ecosystem
No, not a threat to Bitcoin in any way, what would happen is that all other famous guys would start their own altcoins and would turn to joke. Just look at the altcoins market most of them have no need of existing but because they see the success of a coin a friend has started, they think they can do thesame and be successful, but what they are looking for is the money not use case

In case someone famous created an altcoin, but not someone famous like Linus Torvald or whatever obscure cryptographist, no someone that is mainstream, like Rihanna, would it be a threat to Bitcoin ? You could be sure that masses of people would come to use Rihanna's payment system, as it would be branded. Or at the inverse would that be the door for millions of people to know what Bitcoin is and make them understand that this is a great progress ?

i think the altcoin will have huge fans but i am not sure that their fans will use the altcoin and i don't think that the altcoin will be a threat to bitcoin, its too far to follow bitcoin especially in the price. i think people will prefer to use bitcoin and do invest in their money into bitcoin than to make invest on the altcoin which created by famous people.

New alts = Meant for profit taking

It will surely hits the shine when it launched but believe me it will not sustain support from the community since they are only taking care of the price and profit rather than the technology of it. It's like another come and go in the world of cryptocurrency. Just go take profits if ever there will be launched like that.

it can only pump the coin to the moon! and get dumped right after.

fame of the developer has never been the reason for a technology's success. you want to use the coin in real life such as when you use bitcoin to buy stuff and you want certain aspects when doing this and none of them consists of who the developer is Cheesy

It will just be another PnD... see MAXcoin.  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annmax-maxcoin-pow-asic-resistance-keccak-gpu-mining-438150

Look at all those bagholders.. Investor's nightmare. I think it's best to just stick with BTC.

Who is the famous people behind maxcoin? It was popular but it is dead, and it has no future, because people know it is a scam coin. R.I.P.

I think it will never occupy Bitcoin place ya but it can get famouse and success also. The main reason is because Bitcoin is not controlled by anyone who ever mines can use bitcoin or buy and sell bitcoins. But the new coin is created by the developer who is owner of that coin and holds the coin and if wanted can do anything to it with the coin developments.

ICO? Not even once.
No way.

Sure it would get pumped for a bit but there's no reason for that to work long term.

In fact, I strongly believe coins are much better off with unknown devs, Satoshi style. There's no reason to attach a personality to a coin whatsoever. And to open up the dev for possible attacks. If the code is great it doesn't matter who wrote it.
