Why would there be a fork? Current SegWit2x support s almost 90%. With current conditions, THERE WILL BE NO FORK so stop spreading FUD.

Do you enjoy seeing crypto bear market? Guess not, then stop spreading SHIT!

Actually I do. For us late comers its an opportunity to catch up. Smiley Smiley Grin Grin

On a serious note, fearful investors will always be there. Instead of dismissing people who ask questions, maybe you should try being polite and answer their questions. That is the only way they will relax. Telling them they spread SHIT does SHIT.

On a serious note, if BTC forks, it ll never regain the trust level it s got now. So you hoping your $12 BTC investment might repeat the entire BTC cycle s really dumb thing to expect. If you re a latecomer, you should try alts and not spread useless FUD. That s what scammers and speculators do.

All in all, I dont have chips in this, I ve moved all my BTC to alts but just make me sick people ask these stupid questions all over again. Especially when, like you, they know the answer. So fuck off, you and your desire of volatility and BTC $3 price.

hahahahahaha my memory failed me dismally. Thank you for the correction

no problem. glad it helped.

Calm the fuck down, so annoying to see so many fork FUDSTERS, if you create panic nobody will be better off.

Just relax and sit back and enjoy the ride.

How is trying to educate myself and learn from experienced individuals creating panic? Are we now not supposed to ask questions?

tensions are a bit high these days because there are a lot of FUD around. you can check this board and speculation board to see a lot of these useless topics calling bitcoin dead. calling the drop to $1000 and crap like that.

and it is sometimes hard to know who is asking a genuine question and who is spreading FUD at times like this, specially if you don't choose your words carefully.

If Bitcoin forks what would the price of both coins be? Would they start at the same price? How is that price determined?

No one can tell for sure, because no one knows what exactly happen in the upcoming weeks. And even if someone knew it, it still would be hard to predict Bitcoins price, because you never know how other people will react. Bitcoin is compared to honeybadger - sometimes it doesn't care about events that should have shifted its price. Also, if you look at todays price, we have already started falling, because some people are afraid of a crash caused by splits.

Thank you for your response. I am not worried one bit, but I was just thinking of putting some fund on an exchange so I am ready to purchase if a great opportunity avails itself.

Do you mean the forked of bitcoin will be related to the splitting of the bitcoin and another shitty coin as fuck as BTU will be appearing in the future? They will not strat at the same price. The real bitcoin already determined as the real bitcoin as ethereum and the shitty clone of the bitcoin can be determined as a clone coin such as etc. I have a question for you, do you ever see the price of etc was above the ethereum?  Roll Eyes

When Ethereum forked, they both started at EXACTLY the same price. That price was 10usd if my memory serves me right.

no, your memory failed you Wink
and it is easy to check too. you can simply open up coinmarkecap.com and see the two coins.
ETC came out on Jul 24, 2016 and it started at $0.7 and it was pumped to $3+ but that is it
ETH at that time was about $13 and dropped to $7

oh and by the way none of this has anything to do with bitcoin. you can't even compare them!

We cannot speculate the bitcoin value at anytime due to its volatile nature. I hope that on August 1st we may gonna see the hard fork and traders and people invested in other platforms may get affected because of that.

if bitcoin forks there won't be two coins. there will be 1 coin.
if bitcoin splits there may be more than one coin. only if the other chain can stay alive. another chain with low hashrate will be weak. susceptible against attacks and can die easily.

if it can stay alive and if it can gain enough support,.... then it has to be listed on exchanges then people have to panic sell on there because you know they have gotten some free coins they want to dump. then things have to calm down, .... and a lot more. then price will be determined. it will surely be a lot less than now.
