Not all the time though because Bitcoin still undergoes to bear market.What if you bought right now and hold it for 1 year but let say Bitcoin dips really hard, I don't think you will be wealthy. Perhaps those people who bought in 2017 will oppose this idea because they know how the market became in 2018. Perhaps if you extend 1 year into 4 years or more probably I will consider it because of the fact that BTC halving is likely happening every 4 years. But I partly agree that even newbie traders can be rich if they just hold it for a long matter of time.

I'm not sure which is better, because both trading and holding the asset (in this case Bitcoin) have their pros and cons.

But I still think that which is more profitable also depends on a person's ability to trade.
If you are a newbie in trading you are doomed and you better do nothing, but if you are good and experienced you can make a lot of money every day.

I think buying BTC at a low price and holding it for over a year or more until the market value blows up is the simplest way of making a profit out of it. However, there's no guarantee that it will make a profit over a year. If you're not into complicated stuff like analyzing the market, then holding is the best choice for you.

That can depend on what will be the price of bitcoin one year after buying it, I mean there are people who bought it last March 2020 and they got their profits back in March 2021. You are right that it may not be as fruitful as someone might desire but it is up to the market and your timing if you can quickly profit from bitcoin.

Because one year is not enough as investment, one year time can't make your money huge as a profit but sometimes can maximize then as usual time, this is not always it happens suddenly when market pump rapidly high. So the graph says investment more than 2 or 3 years can make a good profit and if your luck supports you much then you can get higher profit in one year.

Yes, many Newbie rich of crypto but many Newbie lost her money in crypto. If you buy today bitcoin and wait for one year i hope you lost your 80% money. You need to follow 2017-19 price chart.

Agree but for more than 1 year, if you bought btc in Q4 2017 and you just hold for one year your not getting profit. Sometimes we need to hold a lil bit longer especially if we really believe with that coin.

If a brand buys a large enough quantity of BTC for a cheap price one year ago and ignores it, they will be rich.

However, it is different for some traders who only make day trades or sell when they are profitable.

Holder is always a winner. Holder is the strongest. But becoming a Holder who sticks to strategy is tough. It is very difficult not to see the market if we already know the investment we are doing.

Buy and forget will probably be best. and don't use the money you need for other purposes, use free money.

I'm not sure without checking our investment for a year gives us peace of mind. It was a common practice of everyone, we often check our investment, our portfolio to see if it is growing or not. If we are just afraid about hearing FUDs or anything that could influence deciding to have an early selling, that is not a problem as long as we can manage to control our emotions.

Without access to our Bitcoin for that long (1 year), I might forget the password or where I put the keys, or my laptop/PC is already been damage.
Well, it is a big challenge not checking it when you are in your computer, that even encourages you more seeing that the value of your Bitcoin is growing.

It's actually true. I can say for myself because I have been off from crypto universe during a good part of last year and when I came back to see how things were doing and started looking the news I was really amazed on how it recovered since that long previous bear market which many believed to be the end of bitcoin.

Forget bitcoin for a while and you will be surprised when you see how much value it has gained after a year or few years, but just make sure to not forget where you put your coins and your seeds as some early adopters did. Cheesy

So keep that hope OP and rather ask that the current momentum will continue until next year because I was thinking for the bear season to come next.

For I don't have to make any conclusions and time frame when I'm going to sell my Bitcoin as I know that we can't predict the price. Because if going to say I buy now, hold, and I sell but most likely it happens when the market is good and I can see that I was in profit. Maybe this could be the right statement, "I buy today and cash out in the next Bullrun". That could be next year, the next 3 years, or 10 years.

Actually this is true one year is not enough to say that the amount of bitcoin you buy today will accumulate 2x or 3x its market value by next year better. If we were going to look at the market graph of bitcoin for the past 3 years ago (2017-2020) the market of bitcoin became good at the end of the year 2020. So does it mean that bitcoin was really unpredictable you can't tell what will going to be the next market movement of bitcoin.

Bitcoin profit is unpredictable to anyone who is used to Investment. Is not a guarantee for you to invest one year and expect something good from the investment because market can decide not to change until 2 or 3 years before investors can make something good from their Investment.
