My country is crypto-friendly and planning to become even more so in the future, but there are other objective pressing matters because we're at war with a neighbour who decided to invade us. I would perhaps advocate for adding crypto income into simplified taxation process (we have certain entrepreneurship activities in the country qualifying for low taxes and a simplified accountability approach), perhaps on the ground that the activity rather than cryptocurrency should be taxed, unless income comes from trading. I would also encourage accepting taxes directly in Bitcoin and thus accumulating BTC on state level.

If I had the opportunity to talk to them about bitcoin parliament, I would emphasize on its benefits and advantages, not only for a single or individual’s economy but the country’s economy itself, its clear regulatory framework that will promote more transparency and security for bitcoin consumers, its risk and challenges as well, and last but not the least, its public awareness for all the country’s citizens.

I have to say bitcoin is quite a new innovation but if only the government will create a balance approach then, bitcoin will definitely bring and uphold the country’s financial economy into being a progressive and competitive one.

I'd tell them to do an information campaign that Bitcoin is the same as real money/cash. And everyone has to be careful about the on going scams that are using Bitcoin to trick their victims.

Not that much to say but it's more about giving people the idea of what Bitcoin actually is. So that many won't feel that they're going onto a scam if it's just about Bitcoin.

There's still a lot of misconception about Bitcoin and that's why when everyone is informed, the doubt is being removed.

At least we are moving in the direction to make it more widespread all in all, I would say.
Institutions, slowly, gain pace with how they treat or use BTC.
Yes, we're seeing the change and that's why if there will be some officials that I can talk to and they have the power to initiate those suggestions asap.

That's what I am going to tell them. And it's true that we're seeing the pace at a slow mode and we're not in a hurry. This type of development is much better than having a quick pace but then many still don't understand what they are up to.

Before, we've seen people that dislikes Bitcoin because everybody have thought that it's a dark net money, they're not wrong but when it entered the mainstream, institutions and even some governments have became good and adopting to it.

If I had the opportunity to talk to my country's parliament or legislature about Bitcoin, I would first tell them how stupid they are, I would tell them that you are killing us with your stupidity.

After I give a long speech about the unique features of Bitcoin (which they will understand nothing of course), I would respectfully ask them to officially accept Bitcoin in our country or at least allow people to own Bitcoin legally.

Of course, I would not get any answer because these old senators would be asleep in their seats as they usually do in all official parliamentary meetings. Grin

Maybe some funders would be interested because of what you would do and how much attention you brought to the whole concept  Grin

I would tell them to look at Bitcoins success and wide adoption and how it promotes clean energy and can be used as a non renewable resource or looked at as such and to create energy policies in favor of Bitcoin mining etc etc

If I had to talk to them, I'd probably focus on the regulatory framework around Bitcoin--but honestly, I’m not really an expert on that. Thanking Satoshi or posting a message anywhere is way easier compared to trying to tell government officials what we want, especially when we’re not that well-versed in the law. Talking? Yeah, I’ll pass on that. But if it's just about sending a message, then I might give it a shot.
If I have the opportunity to talk to my country's legislature about Bitcoin, I'd focus on regulations, Bitcoin is not banned in my country but the government is not Bitcoin friendly. I'd tell them about the importance of unbanning banks from facilitating crypto transactions. Also most reputable exchanges in my country don't enable our fiat p2p, making us to consider the option of platforms that have not gotten any trust ratings. But what will be the gain, these people certainly don't care about Bitcoin in the open, but I wouldn't be surprised if most of them have Bitcoin stash in none custodial wallets. Anyways Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency and it's doing great with it's adoption despite the unfriendliness of different governments.
This would be the way to go, because you do not need to make bitcoin a legal tender like El Salvador to get good results, you just need people who are doing a good job with whatever we have, and as long as we do that, we are not going to be in any trouble at all.

If we can trade bitcoin easily, banks connected to big exchanges, then we are going to have easy time dealing with bitcoin and that would be more than enough for us. Just make it as legal as possible, obviously put out regulations, like for example I always supported the idea that centralized coins or tokens should be registered with the nation, if you are willing to take on the entire centralization of the project, then that is your decision to be regulated as well, decentralized ones can't be because there is no central figure, but some new tokens are heavily centralized and they should be regulated. This way, both government and the people would get what they want to get together as well.

Sanitough created this topic for discussion the past week title, "What is your message to the real Satoshi?" and I enjoyed reading every bit of the message each user drop as comment. Interestingly, I also read just the last week that Samson Mow spoke to the German parliament on Bitcoin Strategies. Keeping these two in mind, I want us to take it a little bit further this week. If you had the opportunity to speak to members of your country’s parliament or legislature about Bitcoin, similar to what Samson did, what would you say?
When I was studying at the university, the majority of my lecturers were also politicians, working in parliament and some of them had studied at top universities, so this was a great opportunity for me to talk about cryptocurrencies because that's what I knew very well back then compared to many people.
There was a woman lecturer (politician) who was admiring me for my knowledge about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, we had a discussion about cryptos for hours. It's sad but she thought that Bitcoin was used for illegal activities, people abuse cheap electricity to mine Bitcoins and she was very anti-crypto. I was definitely trying to explain things to her but she was very stubborn. By the way, I made this subject interesting for her and I'm very proud of myself for that.

If crypto is given as education and generations grow up with this knowledge, then a good step has been taken for Bitcoin. An educated individual can contribute to the use of things that are good for society. Many politicians do not know much about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies. If they had received education on this subject in time, crypto would have developed even more. It is never too late for anything, only those in decision-making positions need to be informed. If they are informed about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, then the state's view of Bitcoin will change positively.

Time is always positive for Bitcoin because the number of people learning about Bitcoin and its technology increases as time goes by. There are politicians among these people.

I would say one thing. Bitcoin/crypto is a financial asset just like any other financial asset and it shouldn't be discriminated. The government should treat Bitcoin as a normal financial asset and it should respect all BTC investors, traders and HODLers. However, all the pump-and-dump shitcoins should be banned by the government and their developers should face serious consequences. All the crypto scams that involve Bitcoin payments should also be hit by the law, since they have nothing to do with the true nature of Bitcoin. This is all I want to say.

Most of us who have accepted bitcoin as an investment asset on our own will surely talk about the legal framework and will try to influence parliament to approve the big move that bitcoin is making. If bitcoin is now legal to invest in our respective countries then what we will discuss is how to proceed with the acceptance process further. That is the hope that we might want to convey in parliament so that bitcoin gets a better place in our respective countries.

There are many other things that might come to mind to discuss further in parliament and we will certainly try to convey the view that bitcoin will be a source of freedom for everyone. If this refers to aspects that have indeed been proven and we will try to change the negative view of bitcoin for further acceptance by everyone.

If I would have the opportunity to talk with out legislation then I would simply ask why they don't want to accept BTC, why they not already given the green light to crypto. After getting some answers I will try to convince them by telling about how important regular permission is for the bright future of country's economy too.

People are still trading, and losing/earning from crypto why governments have not stepped into this field already and announced that the crypto is legal in our Country.

If I had the opportunity to talk about Bitcoin to members of parliament, I would explain how Bitcoin represents a major technological advancement, offering an alternative to traditional financial systems and enabling secure and transparent transactions. I would emphasize that Bitcoin can help include millions of people in the financial system, especially those who do not have access to traditional banking services.
Funny enough, I don’t know of other countries but, I’m not sure my country’s parliament would ever want to consider this very obvious points you’ve stated because they wouldn’t want anything that would want everyone actively involved in the financial system, as that wouldn’t let them loot public funds peacefully.
Don’t get me, I’m not trying to paint a particular country wrong but rather just saying that, most parliaments wouldn’t want to embrace bitcoin because of the reasons you stated because they’re actually the obvious reasons they should and they don’t want anything that might give their citizens freedom because they believe the freedom of their citizens is already a mighty asset to them.

I personally will just tell the parliament to give their children the benefit of owning bitcoin as they would learn more from them.

This is what my speech will look like

Hello distinguished members of the parliament, it is with great pleasure that I speak to this honourable house today regarding bitcoin. As we all know bitcoin is one of the greatest innovation of the 21st century. It is something that we have kept neglecting as a country for too long. And now it visible that we have been making mistakes all these years and I wouldn't want that mistake to keep happening.

It is high time we join the rest of the world that are embracing this technology since we cannot do anything to stop it. We can't remain in our ignorance forever. There is no escaping the reality that this bitcoin has brought to the world. Let us position ourselves now that is still early.

I believe there are lots of benefits that bitcoin will bring to us as a nation. It is the right time for us to make the right legislation about bitcoin that will attract investors to our country. With the population of this country, bitcoin will revive our dwindling economy.

Bitcoin = Financial freedom
If I had the chance I would like to mention some key points that may convince others and pass a law regarding crypto.

Even though we moved to digital banking still the fiat money and it's handling cost is bit huge that just adds to the inflation of the country's currency so if we encourage people to use bitcoin and other crypto for spending that will reduce such costs and save money for the governt and also making it legal tender will create a buzz in the international level that can be utilized properly to attract invesmtns across the country that will obviously contribute to the economic growth.

Now, give it a thought why government never said bitcoin is a scam and why they've agitated to only adopt its legal tenders only when the decentralized blockchain is set up centralization were they could regulate it? That's to say the government already has foreseen the realistic potentials of bitcoin and then became attractive to it.
I guess they'd be bothered about the technological aspect of it but would get to let them understand the highily level of advancements we're today in the 21 century where most invents becomes possible with technologies.
Furtherly, I'd make them understand the thought of Satoshi Nakamoto inventing bitcoin was to introduce and advanced and uniqueness of financial system which can be volatile on its market and its economy lies on the rate of adoptors. And most importantly a unique character of being decentralized that users can have self governing on self custodial with their funds holding on bitcoin.
So I'd give them the chance to air their views about these unique potentials of bitcoin if being compared to our usual traditional currencies.
