I would only buy those coins, the price of which is very small and which did not yet have a sharp growth. Such coins can still multiply your capital several times.
With $50 it is very difficult to buy some good coin, but we can still buy a good altcoins with this amount. You can buy a part of ETH, because the market value is good.

Thats because many are speculators pumping their invested coin - note how so many tell you coins that have already gone up? For $50 pick something you like the logo of, its as good a strategy as any other.
I know it's not enough, but i'll find something interesting in Cryptopia and buy it. Only for HODL, of course.

I would invest equally in the etherium, ripple and Bitcoin Cash. If something one grows well in value, then you will get a good profit. 
I never buy Bitcoin cash for investment. It seems to me that this coin is suitable only for daily trades. I would buy Ripple for this amount. This will bring good profits in a few months.

Do not invest just in 1 coin when you start, split that 50$ in 5 projects. look for something to do in your way nobody will tell you what do you wanna hear.

If I have 50 dollars, I will try to invest in ICO. Because ICO coins are new, and can grow high in price. or we are trading if you want a quick profit. So, As long as we profit, we can invest anywhere.
$50 is too small for investment. But If you want to feel the profit make it atleast $1000. If I had only $50 I would invest in one coin and that is Bitcoin and then trade it. Trading with patiently so you can turn that amount of money in to 10 times a few month.
Coins, tokens and ICOs have gone crazy lately. If you can find a good project, you can multiply your investment by ten times or more. $50 -> $500 -> $5000 -> $50000 -> $500000
with the funds of course to choose altcoin whose price is already high will be quite difficult to get big profits but if investing in altcoin the price is still relatively small will be able to bring big profits like investing in stellar and I really support it
