There are many ways to contribute to a society that would fit perfectly with your worldview, but that would mean not being a freeloader so it's not surprising that you would choose to focus on the negative.

But sure, as long as it isn't violating all kinds of safety codes, I'd let him crash there for as long as it takes for him to find a decent job.
