Say the Bitcoin community would ask you for a new name;  a new name must be chosen for Bitcoin.

What would be your proposal?

I would cut the name from Bitcoin to BCoin (spelled as bicoin), or a name that would be for universal coin or Intercoin (international coin)

The name bicoin best suits it, and I can't think that there can be any other name for it but if I have to rename it then I would say may be futurecoin or bestcoin.

I think bitcoin is already a good name for it. Maybe i will name it E-Cash, it's a good name right. E-Cash/Electronic Cash, many people will know what is E-Cash.

Shit, did I leave the stove on?
If I had the chance to choose a new name for Bitcoin I would probably name it VirtuBank for a virtual bank where you are the sole owner and in control of your account balance and no one can scrutinize what you do with your money. But I don't think people would like the word bank in the name as it symbolizes centralization. I also like VirtuCash or VirtuMoney or VirtuPay. VirtuPay sounds very nice though.

I guess world Bitcoin is so deeply rooted into our minds it is really hard to think of Bitcoin differently. I think Bitcoin in great and fitting name.

But if I had to pick some other name I have a few: BitGold, NextMoney, InstaPay, Veritas.

I would go for something that would represent both the internet side of things and also what it is used for. A name like iMoney < Internet Money > or even Dcash < Digital Cash > The coin in the name Bitcoin is confusing, and people associate it with fiat coins and think it has to be physical coins.

I think Bitcoin is perfect for what it stands for but otherwise bitgold would be nice as well, because it is finite and there are so many bitcoins in limited supply, which makes it rate, like gold.  Smiley

Bitcoin shouldn lose its trademark BTC and the best name for it would be the name that
start with letter B. i would pick Bitcash because its sounds similar to bitcoin and it looks good
for commercials.

If i had to choose a better name for bitcoin it would be " Digi Money" so that if other heard about it theres a clue in their mind that this new name is money online. And the new abbreviation DIGI MONEY = DG haha cool. And the new name of satoshi is Digi Coin and the new name of bits is Digs.

The protocol should have been named: The Blockchain Protocol

The currency should/could have been named: Blockcoin

The distinction between the protocol/technology and the currency would have made things easier to understand, imho.

Unicoin would be a nice name. It could mean a unique coin, a universal coin, plus it sounds like a mythical creature. It's all good for me. This could make BTC prices surge even higher, what with its wicked-sounding name.

It's already a perfect name but if I will have my way will name that coin to Digicoin but we have already a coin with that name but people can relate that it is a digitalcoin...

But I will oppose if they want to give bitcoin a new name it's like stating all over again..
