I think, if government starts regulating bitcoin, I personally would prefer using some other coins like Litecoin or Dash. However, the greatest advantage of Bitcoin is its anonymity. due to this reason, many people prefer it. Now if government starts regulating Bitcoin, then I guess, many people will stop using it and the demand will decrease. If this happens, the it will have an adverse effect on its price. Now, if bitcoin become cheaper, many other people will loose interest in bitcoin too. The chain effect will start and will result a huge crash in price.

There is a very less probability of this happening. No one would like to get restrictions and have it privately operated since it dissolves the entire meaning of a cryptocurrency. If that happens anyway,I'd start supporting another best Altcoin, anyway in the past few days ,other altcoins seem to have progressing nicely in terms of trade while bitcoin rates are barely moving an inch.

it depends on my usage.
if i want to just trade it and just earn a profit from market movements then i will stick with it especially because i don't have to pay any taxes on this job lol.

but if i want to use it for buying stuff and use as a currency in general i would switch to a better altcoin with better anonymity and security.

I would choose no 2 to support another coin, because I really do not like when finances are controlled. Cheesy

I choose bitcoin because I have complete control over my finance.

That's true...
But we should fight against this if we don't want BTC to get regulated, as we have the control and not the governments, so why to get that control slipped from our hands???

What control do you have over your bills and taxes in your daily life? You just do what the government tells you to do and if they outlaw Bitcoin for example there is noting you/we could do about it.

There is a lot you can do, if you are not satisfied with the people you elected into those positions. You voice your concerns and you withhold your vote or vote against them in the next elections. < That is to say, if you live in a democratic country >

If they do ban Bitcoin, you just have to shift your operation to another country where it is legal. This way a lot of job opportunity and skills will be lost to the country who ban Bitcoin.

Last option is to take it to the black market, like they did with booze and cigarettes. Obviously that will be your last option. < Trading between trusted individuals > It will always have value, because it will never be banned in all countries.

I think I would support another altcoin, using the bitcoin to be independent and not traced.
Also thinking that more people understand my choice for it.

2. most likely for me, even though I would prefer if this would be an option within Bitcoin developed in the future instead of an additional altcoin.

i am not gonna be a presoner again. i am here because i just liked the concept of it.and if anyhow its gonna became restructed then i will like to switch to other crypto coins or gonna make my own coin or something where nobody can control my coins except me

And then you'll end up using your coins only with yourself! You need at least someone else to share your wealth with otherwise your coins are useless.

i'll keep using bitcoin wtihout sacrificing anything because, they cna not regulate it in the same way as fiat, there will be always way to avoid their control with bitcoin

so no need to jump on another alt that if get big, will eventually be regulated like bitcoin

Indeed, the only thing is that everything is public than.
I think I would stay by the bitcoin also because of it worth.
The bitcoin will maybe fall if that is gonna happen.

We are moving in the direction, where Bitcoin will be challenged by Permissioned private Blockchains. Let's say for one moment, these PP Blockchains become the norm, and public Blockchains like Bitcoin gets regulated, what will you do?

1. Would you bend the knee before governments and adhere to their regulations to restrict freedom? Use PP's?
2. Support another Alt coin, with full anonymity?
3. Accept these regulations and restrictions and sacrifice your freedom? And still use a regulated Bitcoin?

A lot of us joined Bitcoin, because it offered a alternative for freedom from centralized control and monitoring and also manipulation of the value of our money. Now this freedom will be restricted once again, and the technology used against us to do this.

Will we allow that?

Yeah I would just go for 2. Btc can be replaced, LTC is just a copy of it ^^

And things like Dashcoin wouldn't disappear or taken control by gvt in my opinion!

i like bitcoin with anonymity, so if government try to snatch that thing from bitcoin, i will go to another alt coin that can give the freedom of anonymity

Bitcoin is pseudo anonymous. If you want total anonymous, you will need Monero.

When we are paid with Bitcoin as our salary, it will not be anonymous to the government.

That's my point of view as well. I've been giving a try on Dash, which seems to have a nice anonymity feature. Killing anonymity is killing bitcoin.

If you have no problem supporting a coin {Dash} where 500k was instamined within the first hour of it's release and then another 1 500 000 coins in the

next 8 hours. I would be too nervous to swap my Bitcoins for a possible scam coin. I like the features, but that worry me a bit. I would keep some

Bitcoin, even if it gets regulated, but as soon as a legit coin with full anonymity and no pre-mine gets released, I will go for that. I do not like this

intrusion into our privacy, but the world is changing and bad people are using the technology to hurt more people, and I also am against that.  Shocked

a normal question for critical people, and good analyze from smart people. i think that 3 points not yet easy to relize, even we know some people support this.

I it comes to a point where bitcoin use becomes inviable, I would also choose Dash or any other anonymous alt. I think many people would do the same.
