i got in in may 2014 - thanks to the recent crash I am actually up based on average purchase price - bought alot from 300->170 and bought a ton at 165 so my although I started purchased from 440-600 my average buy is ~230-260  -- would be down if I hadnt purchased alot at 165 though...

Some people would gain 2000% or more on their investment if they sold now.  Why assume "lose"?

Because "those people" did not buy in the last 14 months?

Yes. This is not a thread for "those people". This is an ode to the bagholders

I didn't realize this is a thread only for people who got into bitcoin in the last 14 months.  For you guys: chill out, be patient, if all you care about is short term - just sell already and leave, Bitcoin was never for you!

Gentleman, please excuse my manners. You are more than welcome here. We all sing the praises of the mighty honeybadger, after all.

Huzzah! Bitcorns!

Bitcoin price has breached 250! Lucky for me, I've break even for now with still a little profit on hand if I sell right now. But regardless, I'll still continue to hold on to it. I believe the wall street intervention does have some impact to push up btc price.

I think I should get in at these levels.  Smiley

I think last week would have been better Wink

You can't have everything in life.  Grin

You can wait until next week too

By next week the price may have gone up further, missing out on some nice tidy profits.

It seems like a good idea. If price goes up you profit if it goes down you hold until you profit Tongue

You're never too old to think young.
No losses here.

Other than the 1 hour dip on the day of the Silk Road bust, bitcoins have traded for more than the average I paid for them since Aug 2013.

Most of my coins cost <$100. My most recent, 10 days ago, cost $175 each.

A lot, though not nearly as much as one person who commented here.  I'm hoping it'll go back up again one of these days.

None  Grin I hit ROI on my mining gear a while ago and now I am just doing it for fun (Not much profit). I did not invest much in bitcoin itself.

Live like there is no tomorrow!
I'm not really sure how much money I put into Bitcoin. I've made some great profits with mining some coins in the earlier days, but I also don't know what that mining did cost me (with regard to electricity costs etc).

However, due to some (ASIC) scams and unlucky investments I lost a big part of my BTC. With my current balances, with the current value, I think I somehow break even with the costs i've made so far.

(Although Bitcoin brought me much experience, which is priceless Smiley)

Can be considered small amount. In fact with the price going up further, I'm almost certain to break even anytime now. What I did was just to stay safe was I spread out my buy order.

I would gain a bit.
I do regret not selling at the top to buy lower, but I guess one has to see a bubble before having the guts to trade it.

I bought in the range of $10-$100 and never sold, so technically I didn't lose anything (yet). But I could have won ~$90000 if I had sold at the peak, so I guess that's the amount I lost.
