I think the guy is rich and this is nothing more than loose change. He has ten other houses, all larger.
He probably sold his BTC in July, shortly after his last post on this forum.
He said he was concentrating on other projects, meaning that BTC was an irrelevant side show

Anyone who would sell a house for BTC is clearly filthy rich. I hope he is holding it and loses a ton of money  Lips sealed

When he sold his house the price was around 600$. He is underwater, but not yet in the danger zone.
However when the price will drop below 300$ he might feel an irresistible urge to cut his losses and may sell close to the bottom.
If he won't panic sell, he'll still have to wait several months for the price to rise back to 600$.

Everyone is telling me that price is going up and up but I am only seeing down and down from 1.2k level.

yeah bit bit coin is a rollar coaster,It is going to drop down to 100 probably before it picks up again but it is going to pick up again thats all that really matters?right?

Problem is this dude traded his fortune for bit coins so he is going to have to sell some to live, which means he is losing profit. It is basically like getting high off of your own supply. I highly doubt he is still holding 600 coins right now.

It is a game of balls. How big are OP's balls? Can he hold breath underwater for a year? Thats the big question here.

Only if the market estimates the risk correctly.

People usually judge if taking the risk was smart or not with the result.

And in so doing perpetrate a common error. What makes a decision smart is based on the information available at the point it was made. If I bet my left kidney on the flip of a coin, I am not dumb if it lands heads but a genius if it lands tails - no, I am dumb right from the very beginning.

He took a chance, if it turned up he would be a genius.
I saw at least two references to greatness before this. Why does taking a risk and winning make you great? If I jumped into a lion pit and killed a lion, would that make me great or a genius?

it would make you badass thats for damn sure.

Taking calculated smart risks is the way to succeed well but a smart calculated risk is sometimes an emotional bet that end up ruining you or making you lose a lot of time.
