If you are asking about what is the percentage of those who are accepting and using bitcoin out of the total revenue businesses online then you must also state some classification to avoid confusion. There are small, medium and large companies and so among them what is your preference. Statistical data pertaining bitcoin users is hard to come bye since there are no formal and big studies that focuses on gathering raw data on cryptocurrency due to its decentralized nature.

I wish you good luck on the study you will make, we also are curious as to how much of the populace are into bitcoin and how much income per country does bitcoin adds into the treasury. Cryptocurrency is not yet fully established thats why it needs people like you to place a light on the shadows of cryptocurrency by way of thorough study and research.

Does anyone know of any research into how much and what % of revenue businesses are receiving in Bitcoin?

One of the main barriers for worldwide adoption of Bitcoin is that many people don't see the tangible benefit. This study hopes to show the bottom-line benefit that businesses are getting.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Research in bitcoin is important now, but due to the global effect of cryptocurrency, you may not get a reliable result if you don't reduce your study area. If you are living in a country where it is acceptable, maybe you should stay within the confine of the country. If you like to get global, stay within a certain business

Transparent as well as volatile, scarce and publicly accessible to watch all the activities in the bitcoin network.
You can have bitcoins by a process called mining doing heavy computational works with mining machines.
Anyone can accept bitcoin as a currency unless they are short minded and are slaves to the fiat masters.

The interesting use for Bitcoin is as a tradeable reserve currency. I suspect that this is where the future lies for Bitcoin. The UK has a £100 solid gold coin that is legal tender, but how many shops will accept it, or even know of its existence. In fact it's current asset value is getting on for £1,000, so it is unlikely to be used for normal retail transactions.

It's better for you to contact the company that accepts bitcoin as payment method, like people said above overstock it's already accepted bitcoin since 2014 besides it's a huge marketplace. Actually there are many companies who adopt bitcoin out there, you can email them, asking them about the data of their revenue in bitcoin. I still believe the biggest revenue in deepweb especially in drug dealers since bitcoin is fit perfectly with these things. If i am not wrong there is someone here who investigated revenue businesses in deepweb as his research project, well just saying.

Not a question of how we can feel in the bitcoin, but the question of how we can have a great advantage in it. Indeed significantly we would not be able to see the original form of the bitcoin, but it's all the stuff that is not an excuse not to accept bitcoin as payment for profit bitcoin is much greater than the advantage of the other. And tangible benefits can we feel is bitcoin price increase is very high and it is very profitable for the companies that want to rotate the bow into the lines of the bitcoin.

There are few benefits that any business can get by accepting bitcoin as payment method;
1. Lower fees in transaction, unlike cards shops/merchants don't have to pay any fees while accepting bitcoin.
2. Even local store can accept bitcoin payment with the help of their personal laptop/tablet or phone thorough web wallets, so no cost of POS machines.
3. Bitcoin payments are irreversible so they don't have to face any charge-backs later on.

P.S. I found the following report on Overstock for 2014:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/overstock-pass-3-million-usd-bitcoin-sales-2014/

Other companies you might want to look into are Microsoft (they accept bitcoin for xobox stuff and games), Dell (they started accepting bitcoin in 2014), Namecheap (you can pay for domains and hosting with bitcoin).

Trawl through their company filings with the SEC, and if the info isn't there, email them and tell them you are doing a research project and ask for the data.

You could try looking at the detailed annual reports of publicly quoted companies like Overstock. Overstock accepts bitcoin, so somewhere deep in the notes they will have disclosed to their shareholders how much revenue they took. I think their reports are online, but you'll need a lot of time to comb through them because annual reports are full of arcane stuff and mind-numbing detail to satisfy the shareholders

You need to provide more details of what revenue you want. Are you looking for a revenue earned by the exchanges that buy and sell Bitcoin. Or are you trying to say revenue earned by people using Bitcoin. Or the people who exchange the money and keep certain commission. I would suggest you to provide more details and be more specific so people will be able to guide you and do publish your report here.

I would like to have the report of your study when it will complete. I would suggest you have personal discussions with experts and you can use survey option to get an opinion from masses so you can pick both qualitative as well as the quantitive method while acquiring data.  You might get lot of crap during your research so you should omit the part which has least or negligible effect.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I have now created the survey:

Does your company accept Bitcoin? If so, please complete the below survey and share it to ensure we get the greatest reach possible. It's currently taking 4:51mins on average to complete 8-)

https://valueofbitcoinstudy.typeform.com/to/rw6P82

If anyone has any suggestions for where best to share the survey that would be much appreciated.

BitPay recently tweeted the link to the survey https://twitter.com/BitPay/status/850417969482149888 if you could retweet and send to anyone you know that accepts Bitcoin that'd make a big difference. Hopefully, we'll find insights into the impact that Bitcoin is having. The results can then give tangible evidence to point to convince sceptical businesses to accept Bitcoin and contribute towards a tipping point of global Bitcoin adoption.

Or it'll just be interesting to see how Bitcoin's affecting day to day business. Either way please share to as many people as you know.

Also any other suggestions/comments/questions are much appreciated.
