As someone dealing with depression myself I can say some of the advice given here is very good.  I would recommend improving your diet and moderate exercise as the best things.

If you are drinking, try to slow down.  I was drinking quite a bit and when I cut back things got better.

I would also recommend finding someone to talk to about what you are feeling.  This can be family, close friends, or a therapist.  It took me three years to man up enough to go to a therapist and talk.  Once you start it gets easier and you will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My trigger was a divorce after a very long marriage.  I have kids and was an instant single parent.  You have to be strong for the people who love you.  That means taking care of yourself.

Good luck.

If that fails, some good ol' Terence Mckenna usually does the trick;

Terence Mckenna is awesome.  I've yet to do serious psychedelics, but someday I will see what this guy is talking about for myself.

Why broke?

With places like silkroad it puts a gap inbetween getting your next (amount) very hard to become heavily addicted and lose everything if it takes a week+ to receive anything....

I party a couple times per year, with my wife.... we have to plan it have a overnight baby sitter, but nothing wrong with indulging once and a while.

Moderation is key Smiley

Dude,, Alcohol is a downer a depressant.

Next time you want to drink, Do some cocain and then drink, you'll have a much better night Tongue

A very good advice from your friend AndrewBUD.

Being depressed is for losers. The right way to do it is to get broke and depressed.

Met a nice girl, had a good feeling, and then starting drinking. If this ain't Atlas, I'll lick Matthew's balls.

Atlas? (I just started reading this thread, and have submitted my guess. I reserve the right to remove said guess upon further reading.)

When I was 24 I drank ALOT and likely would have withered away in depression except I kept too busy to think about it much. I was damn lucky to have those of a similar mindset to be around.

these days, its just me, the wife and kid. I don't drink anymore. But when I do feel that old, familiar, "blah, meh whatever" feeling creeping in I like to get lost in some good music, philosophy, random threads on bitcoin forums. ;p

Irony is posting on the Bitcoin forum about how nothing in the world matters... Bitcoin is hugely important to the future of humanity. If you're feeling depressed, get involved in a project with this much scope and power. Build something that matters, and it will be impossible to feel insignificant.

Im currently mining bitcoins, and i agree that bitcoins are significant, if not critical for the future. The policestate/big brother is upon us, wich proves the need for cryptocurrency like bitcoins, im happy to be a part of spreading the good word:)
